Profits before patients…read more The new owners, Reliant Senior Care took a good thing and turned it into a terrible crime against the elderly. They started with cutting the dietary budget which means the food went down hill. Not that it was anything good to begin with. But they somehow made it worse. Then they cut housekeeping staff. Then after that they got rid of all the high paid/high skilled nursing assistants and replaced them with low paid newbies so the care was subpar. Anyone else find it funny that management that was there for 20+ Years "retired" all within the last year? This company is only out for the good of them. Avoid a reliant owned place as your loved ones life depended on it. Bunch of criminals if you ask me.

However, on his last day, when he needed their help the most for breathing difficulty, the staff dropped the ball and he didn't get the comfort aid he needed. I blame the head nurse on staff during that time (Sunday morning) as she seemed unsure of what to do and didn't fully grasp what was going on. I feel she really didn't care. She never once apologized or even offered a condolence. I think she realized that she screwed up and probably was hoping this would just go away. In all fairness, many of the staff members there seemed helpful and caring but due to what my father and family experienced there, I cannot in good faith recommend Franciscan Manor for the care of your loved one.

Worked as a server for almost a year and had to leave because I didn't feel morally correct continuing to work there. It's borderline abuse for the residents, they are fed the same things every week, nothing cooked fresh all frozen and often times cooked improperly using a shortcut to make it quicker and easier for the line cook. Extremely unsanitary conditions the dishwashing machine barely gets the job done and would fail any state inspection. It's not a stretch to say that some of the deaths in this building were a direct result of the kitchen and nurses neglecting the residents dietary needs and serving food that would immediately be pitched at any restaurant. In regards to employment, you will have absolutely no job security working here. The Executive Operations officer Tammy McElhose who has authority over the entire building has successfully gotten rid of 3 dining directors, 2 human resource directors, multiple servers and multiple nurses all in one calendar year. The lack of management directly comes from her firings, making the nurses and kitchen staff job much more difficult without having a boss to lead the way. If your looking to find a new place to work, or send your loved one to a nice home to live out their golden years, RUN far away from Integracares Pines of Mt Lebanon location, your loved one will be susceptible to the neglect and horrible conditions that are found there.

The warmth you feel from the decor and the people is tangible. I was also surprised at how great the food is and the variety of menu choices available to the residents at every meal. The Director, Nan Gammill, puts her personal touch on everything and caring for and being kind to the people there seems to be her mission in life. There was a kindness and compassion from the staff to the residents that set it apart from other assisted living communities I have visited. The activities that are available, the theater, the billiards, the quiet areas with water features. I am not ready for assisted living but I wanted to sign up to be honest.

They became part of our family. Even after months of my grandmother passing we still hear from staff, checking in to make sure we are doing well and that my grandfather is adjusting to life with out her.
