Good thing my husband noticed it before putting his card in the machine / This is over 30 years old and never renovated. Everything is old. The microwave and refrigerator. We've stayed here on four different occasions and the spa has been broken each time. It seems like this place keeps changing owners, each time more and more it Jerry rigged. Lights on the trees in atrium looks the worst with painters masking tape holding it up as well as holding it down on the walking paths. Our rooms have always been just ok. The most recent visit the bathroom tiles needed some attention and the shower faucet was awfully stif. We told the attendant as we checked out, she didn't seem to care much. My recent stay at the Concord Plaza in Concord, California was extremely disappointing. The room was not clean - there were ants, cobwebs, and visible dust, which made it feel poorly maintained. What made the experience worse was the terrible customer service, especially from the manager, who was dismissive and unhelpful which in turned showed his employees how to act and unhelpful when I brought up the issues. When and if they state that they tried to call to see if I was ready to address the issue the phone was disconnected from the previous person who stayed there. Not to mention that the original agreement was that I would get ready then call- they ignored that. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and cleanliness and less ignorance. I would not recommend this hotel until they address their cleaning standards and customer service. Which blows my mind they are turning into a Marriott which I would expect more from Marriott if that were so. But it seems since my last review in 2021 they have not changed it's just worst. We came here for a cars show. My kids are obsessed with Pokémon. We were having a good time. I went to use the women's restroom and went into the big stall since all the other stalls were gross. As I sit down the whole toilet seat shifts all the way to the left and I had to grab the handrail so I didn't fall! I went to get up and the whole seat just fell off on the floor! This is crazy! I know they're remodeling but that was bad! I told the hotel clerk and she grabbed the phone and started calling someone she didn't even apologize and say I'll get someone to come fix it. Came here for work conference. Huge lobby and has a snack shop and sells even beer and hygiene necessities. They have a coffee station in the lobby but was not impressive it was out of coffee and they give powder creamer, also was messy of sugar all over the counter and was like that the whole time I was here. Courtyard is pretty and the sound of the water from the water fountains were so relaxing, only thing is that it smelt very strong of chlorine. Conference rooms were very cold and ac unit is extremely loud. Bathroom was run down, and the carpet throughout the lobby definitely needs to be replaced. Parking lot is tight and packed, my coworkers car got hit from someone not looking while reversing. So be careful of the careless drivers in this parking lot.. the lady who hit her apparently lives at the hotel. Location is ideal because across the street has lots of shops and stores. I didn't stay overnight here but from what I seen I wouldn't ever book a room, definitely needs some remodeling. read more

Located conveniently on Concord Blvd, I chose this because it's walkable from my destination. This hotel has its pluses and minuses. It's clean but furniture and equipment are old. Pluses: good value. It cost around $100/night on Tuesday to Thursday in March 2025. Includes breakfast. It has a good location and is about 7 minutes by rideshare to Bart concord station. The breakfast had fresh fruit, croissant, scrambled eggs and sausage patty. I showed up at 6:15, and breakfast started at 6:00 and the fruit was mostly eaten. Negatives: pretty old and needs renovation. I heard it will be purchased by Marriott and will probably be renovated soon. There were alot of long terms stays here, as many were doing laundry. The walls are thin, especially when someone takes a shower it sounds like thunder. The blankets were thin, like 2 sheets instead of a proper blanket. The amenities were sparse but there was a small refrigerator and microwave. Costs $16 per day to park if you have a car. Will I stay here again? Maybe. If I do Bart/lyft and come in summer due to thin blankets. If it's winter and I don't want to hear loud plumbing pipes, maybe not. read more

Would not stay here for your own SAFETY. Stayed here with my wife because the Hilton didn't have any single kind bed rooms left. While my wife was SLEEPING at 1220am someone attempted to enter our room, luckily I always use the safety latch when I stay at hotels. Whoever this was didn't just attempt once but TWICE. They opened the door, door hit the latch, they then closed the door and REATTEMPTED to open it again. As if the latch would magically stop working. Right after this happened I called the front desk and the front desk employee response was "o it was probably one of our security" WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?!? Security or not, why is ANYONE attempting to enter a guest occupied room without even knocking, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. This is an intrusion of privacy and safety. I have never been to ANY hotel where employees attempt to enter the room without knocking or warning, yet alone doing this IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, when people are likely SLEEPING. The door opened so quickly and quietly that until it hit the safety latch it can go unnoticed. The door made no noise when the key card was used and no unlocking mechanism was heard (I was actually in the bathroom next to the door when this happened). If you are sleeping and the latch is not active you would not hear anyone come in. This is scary, especially for women traveling alone. 100% would not recommend this hotel, stay at the Hilton instead, or maybe even extended stay. I will be reaching out to the manager for compensation but this is absolutely unacceptable. My wife is now terrified of staying at hotels due to this experience. This place sucked. Our family went on a trip for my son's 7th birthday and stayed in the concord plaza hotel. And the first day it was all fine we went to a trampoline park, checked into our hotel, and then went to dinner and everything was fine. But when we woke up there was a living bed bug crawling around in the bed. It was so disgusting that my oldest son wouldn't even come in the room. When we went to the front desk the person didn't even seem surprised at all so it is probably happening a lot. Plus there was weddings going on so imagine having a wedding and them next morning waking up to a bed bug in the morning. Over all this place sucks and I do not recommend it at all. 1 star read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I was advertised that I was getting a really good deal on a pleasant property- only to leave for another hotel less than 2 hours after checking in. Room was in terrible condition, a motel 6 would do you better. Grout coming out of the shower, Emergency fire sprinklers in room are rotted out (unsure of the technical term for them). Back door to F building doesn't lock. We left in such a hurry that my purse was left in one of the drawers, and the front desk refused to let us check the room. Luckily my boyfriend ran around to the unlocked F building door while the security was checking the room, who then let my boyfriend in once he gave up on his search. My purse was IN THE OPEN! HORRIBLE experience! Pre paid for our room and had the confirmation on my phone, but when we arrived at the hotel, they didn't have our reservation. It took an hour to check in before we finally got our room keys! Our room was hotter than hell when we walked in and shortly after, realized the AC wasn't working! They sent a service guy up to check it and he said he fixed it and it should be cooling off in a few. Over an hour later, we were still dripping sweat and just wanted to sleep! We called the front desk and told them it still wasn't working! She said she would call back in TWO MINUTES and put us in another room! We waited another 30-45 min before I went downstairs to get our new room info in person. Took another 20-30 min or so to do that! They gave us a breakfast voucher for two and apologized for the convenience and we were finally able to go to sleep! The next morning, I went to get breakfast for my husband and me. It was only continental (literally muffins, oatmeal, fruit and toast). They would not allow me to bring my husband a plate to the room! Not even one muffin! They said we had to eat it in the courtyard! I've never in my 40+ years of traveling, not been able to bring breakfast to my room- especially continental breakfast! Are you kidding me!? Well today is the last day here and to be honest I'm not impressed I'm honestly disgusted on my findings. Let's kick it off with the service. The front receptionist was super nice. It's weird that online it was said we had to put down the 300 for the room when we checked in but when the lady said we had to put 500 down it's like wtf!! This was not said at all on your website. Lucky we had that amount. We got told what our room number was and got told where to go. They made it very easy for us since we have a disabled person with us so they made sure to put us next to the elevator which of course was nice of them. Now let's dive in to the room. The room had two queen beds nicely made. But wait to see the pictures of what the beds look like and what they had us sleeping on. Everything was nicely placed no lie have to give props when needed and boy did they do an amazing job getting the room done or so I thought. I wanted to check the tv and see what we were working with channel wise since we have kids and I mean for the price we paid it must of been good right? WRONG!!!!! Tv had only a few Channels just notice that regular tv gives you 5 minutes of commercials and only 3 minutes of the show you are enjoying! They don't have any updated channels here as far as tv shows to watch like Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc... nothing at all I would assume having a hotel this huge and expensive you would assume they have updated their tv situation so guests could log into their stuff to make it feel much better for them but I guess that's just me? Anyways let's move on with what the room comes with according the their online website. It stayed the room comes with a game system. well we got here and no system what so ever. Kids were disappointed about this since they brought a few games to play. Why state this and not follow through. I feel compelled to update my review. Upon checking in, the hotel customer service clerk took a 100 dollar deposit for incidentals. I didn't use any of my deposit, and upon checking out, I requested my 100-dollar deposit be returned to my card. I then noticed later that the hotel did not refund my money. Plus, I was charged more for my stay than confirmed upon checking in. I made eight phone calls to the hotel asking about my deposit! Nobody did anything to help! I finally requested to speak to management. The operator transferred me to his voicemail, where I left a detailed message. I never did receive a callback. Horrible customer service! The price to stay a night is fair, I have stayed in motels in this area that much older and less amenities, and charged much more. It's a nice place to stay the night. The Free breakfast, No effort!! This place wasn't very clean. The room was so hot the AC didn't work. I told the front desk all they did was give me the manager Monica's phone number and told me to tell her my concerns. Front desk receptionist did her best to man the front ( I hope the managers give her a Bonus for having to deal with that!) but the managers made No action plan to appease customers for this extreme inconvenience! Not to mention I went to get a bottle of water and they were trying to charge $8?! Tell me why it's cheaper to buy a can of alcohol than it is to buy water ? The room was old and floors felt damp. Pool is nasty sitting areas are blocked off, hot tub didn't work, ice machines weren't plugged in, bar wasn't open till 4pm, wifi sucks, fire alarm stayed on for hours, they changed the lamps to some god awful ugly ones without charging stations, they lowered the quality of everything. Checked in on a Saturday. When asking upon checking-in if there were any lounges or bars that we could enjoy that evening. We were told that the bar may be open this evening, but they weren't sure if they would open tonight...The carpets in the room (and hotel in general) were filthy, there was a horrible patch work job in our bathroom ceiling and cobwebs in the window. The 2nd floor, where they assigned our executive non-smoking room, smelled like mildew and pot smoke down the whole hallway. To top off our experience, when booking I specifically looked for a hotel with a full hot breakfast and a pool, and when we arrived the pool was closed due to a wedding being held in the lobby, and for breakfast it consisted of dessert (cookies and cake muffins), plain yogurt that had been spooned into cups and that had separated, some plain jane granola, and hot oatmeal with pancake syrup, watermelon, coffee and some sort of watered down orange drink (not even a slice of toast or dry cereal to be found)..When I asked about the full hot breakfast that was included in my reservation. I was told that they had changed to contenintal only as of Aug 1st, and that they had a menu for other items($13 for 2 eggs), if I'd like to pay for it. For the price of our stay and knowing we were staying in Concord for the night, I feel I had pretty low expectations, and still left highly disappointed. read more

Bed bugs! The moment I put my head on my pillow I started getting bites by something. It persisted so long that I went down and asked the guy at the front desk if I could have a fresh side of sheets because I thought mosquitoes were biting me. He said he couldn't provide me with sheets but he said he could have someone go change the sheets or give me a new room. I didn't want to do either because my friend and her three kids were sleeping in one bed so I decided to tough it out. I went back to my room I put on long sleeves, pants and socks but the biting persisted and it got so bad. I jumped up and ran into the bathroom to take a bath. Upon taking my shirt off I saw that I had something on me. It was a bug. I took a picture of it and used Google lens to look it up and it said that it was a bed bug. Having seen a documentary on bed bugs, I know that they are extremely difficult to get rid of and they infest areas very quickly. I took everything that was in the room and put it in the plastic bag including my shoes and the clothes I was wearing that day to be washed and hot hot water. Luckily my backpack was on the tile floor in the bathroom and didn't seem to be at risk of infestation so I was able to pack up everything and go to sleep in the van. I didn't get much sleep. Finally we got our last room that was discussing and had no lock on the first floor window and was taped shut. This is the only hotel I've ever been to that looked inhabited AND abandoned at the same time. Cavernous empty stretching expanses of nothingness, hosted by one living soul behind the counter. This place looked like the kind of hotel you'd find in an underdeveloped video game, like the kind the software guys hope you don't look into because they didn't develop it past a gray camo motif on the inside. First of all. When you put the hotel name into google maps as well as Uber, it takes you to a desolate industrial park with no hotel around. This can be especially terrifying if you don't know where you are going and it's dark. The hotel itself is next to an airfield, and my room was next to said airfield, so could hear the sound of planes all night. The hotel itself is outdated and falling apart. Lights were blinking in the hallway for 24 hours like a decrepit insane asylum you see in video games. Paint was peeling off my walls. I was placed in an accessibility room, which I did not request, and the accessibility bar was placed in a way that the shower knobs could not turn to hot, so I was not even able to take a hot shower. My stay was from Friday, April 18th, 2025 to Sunday, April 20th, 2025. As an individual who is very familiar with hotel standards in any establishment, I can confidently say that this was my worst hotel experience that I ever had for a service that I spent money on. Looks can be very deceiving! The Concord Plaza Hotel is a beautiful establishment if the standard was only to have a visually appealing courtyard. From the moment of arrival I was very disappointed with my stay. For starters, the wait to Check In was extremely prolonged even with only a handfull of guests. Once I was able to get into my room, I was unable to actually relax and enjoy it due to my Television not working (No Signal on every channel), thus I was forced to use my cellular device to entertain myself for the duration of my stay. The breakfast served in the mornings both days was HORRIBLE, and it ruined my Easter Sunday morning. On Saturday, I was served clumped watery cold eggs, along with breakfast sausage, old picked over fruit, and cold hard biscuits. YUMMY! The following day, on Easter Sunday morning, the guests were able to choose from cold burnt biscuits, or burnt pancakes, with more old picked over fruit. What a great way to start my Easter! Another guest nearby was heard saying "Wow, no Eggs on Easter? Did the bunny take them all?" Embarrassing. Aside from the breakfast, and lack of room entertainment, I also had no access to the pool area which seemed to be under construction. These factors all contributed to this being the worst hotel visit Ive ever had, and even with that there was more! Shortly after checking out of my hotel room #425 I noticed my wallet with my cards, I.D.'s, and personal information was missing. I contacted the hotel immediately within the hour to alert them of my missing wallet. I initially spoke with an employee of the company who placed me on hold as she sent someone to retrieve the wallet from the room. After 20 mins on hold, I figured she forgot I was on call so I placed the call again. This time, I was put on hold for an additional 35 mins. I then attempted to contact the hotel for a third time and was unsuccessful for the next hour and fifteen minutes. After finally speaking with someone, I was told there was no wallet found which led me to believe my wallet was stolen. At the hotel I only brought one duffle bag and a backpack, each of these I searched over 8 times as I waited for someone to pick up the phone line. My wallet from the time of arrival to departure was sat down on top of the mini refrigerator in the room and was never needed, or moved again while I was there. The wallet was also visible to me an hour before I checked out of the room before I showered and departed. My wallet had no money at all , only cards and personal information including my social security card. This makes me believe I am a victim of identity theft. I was told on my last call Sunday that I would be able to speak to a manager about everything, then after waiting on hold for more extended time the manager was said to have not been there, and to call back Monday for Monica (HM) or Dana (GM) by an employee named Taylor. I was also told that I could not return back to check the room myself nor were there cameras available for that area of the hotel. Monday, I spoke with Monica and I was told no wallet has been recovered. I am a resident of CA so not only did this ordeal ruin my Easter Sunday, but it ruined my entire 5 hour trip back home and put me in jeopardy of having to make my way home with no identification or license. It has now been a week since my visit and I have not recovered the wallet. I have already been in contact with law enforcement about this matter, and they plan to move forward accordingly. In conclusion, I believe there needs to be copious amounts of improvement done throughout this company starting with having better integrity and standards to ensure this never happens to anyone again in life! My family & I checked into this hotel on 2/28 we stayed in E 164, upon arriving we noticed we were all the way at the end of the hotel and we had a lot of stuff the carts were barely able to make it because we had to go out door to make it to our room. We loaded everything into the room and then the next morning while getting ready we moved one of the chairs and there was a needle and syringe. Who knows how many more are around. I have 3 children who sat on the chair and walked around and now we feel sick to our stomach. I'm so pissed off. We were booked for 1 week. Right away we packed up all our stuff and checked out. We asked for our refund but they're saying we need to wait for a manager to make the decision. The front desk agent was very off putting like she thinks it was our fault. Eventually we were given another disability room. So all good? I asked about the breakfast that is still advertised. I don't choose lodging based on breakfast, but appreciate the convenience of when it is offered. There is a menu for a paid restaurant on the grounds. That needs to be removed from their add. This is the most bazaar and uncomfortable stay I have ever had at any IHG location. Especially as a group stay. Our first night in and out room had ripped curtains and stains on the floor (pictures to follow). Using Reward Nights and my credit card as part of a 2 part reservation, I expected better but okay. We had dinner at the Vineyards and trust me when I say the ratings for that place are not wrong! The next day we are about to head out to our event and we hear knock, knock, bang! Apparently two quick knocks is all the notice you will get before they come In your room. I say, come back later and we go to our event. When we come back, we can't get in the room. So we get new keys, come up and walk in on the housekeeper (Maria) quickly putting something down. I motioned for her to leave and as she is leaving she says "No Service". Which smelled of salt and vinegar Pringles. My daughter says "was she just eating?" and we look at the area she was just in. There are Pringles crumbs on the dresser top and the lid is half off of the tin. Surprise!! Maria likes salt and vinegar chips. Awesome. We throw them away, complain and the manger Justin calls us back. He explains his interview with Maria shows she was just putting the lid on it and not eating. Yeah. Well considering the Pringles hadn't been eaten since LA, crumbs don't magically appear and we would have noticed the freaking smell all night. But whatever Justin. Today (Thursday) I decide I want to have our room serviced. I made it pretty clear we do not want Maria cleaning our room and said so on the phone. Knock, knock, open sesame! We can't even get to the door before the Floor Manager throws it open and announces "she is going to clean your room". Guess who SHE is? Ta da!! It's Maria! So in a really uncomfortable exchange, I say she is not cleaning our room (door is still open and I'm trying to get up from the chair) and the floor manager says "She no want you" and closes the door. The location is convenient or I wouldn't stay here. The rancid pot (cheap marijuana) smell permeates the hallways and elevators. At least our room didn't have the smell as it was nauseating. The carpets and furniture need updating and I could deal with that, but the smell...doesn't management recognize this? Inconvenient as well to not have a restaurant open for breakfast or lunch and you take your life in your hands walking across the street to Starbucks. Parking is expensive and the young man at the front desk couldn't figure out how to correctly key our card to work at the parking gate. It required three trips back to the front desk until another woman at the desk was able to do it correctly. read more

Update 07/06: still no follow up about my issue. I've had good stays here in the past, but this past weekend (6/22-6/24) was the worse experience I've had here. The beds in our room on the first floor was infested with Bed Bugs, and I made a complaint 6/25. The manager, Rana, tried to assure me that this has not happened before in his time here, and told me to expect a call on 6/26 after he discussed and "investigates" with his staff. I decided to call on 6/26 due and the receptionist had told me he was off until Friday 6/28. The receptionist was nice enough to double check with the other managers to see if they knew about my issue, and they were not aware and decided to not help me because they didn't know if "Rana was already on this case" To this day (7/1), no follow up from the "long time manager", Rana. Very disappointed by their lack of responsiveness to this issue. read more

Very good customer service. Very very nice place to chill. The lobby has a little river, koi fish, and live plants everywhere. Hot tub was nice and clean. The carpets were dirty with stains though. Need to replace carpet, and re- grout the tile in the shower. I'm not going to let it affect the stars I give it. One thing that bothered me was late at night, a security guard was patrolling the Lobby below, our window was open and he yelled up at us "are you guys smoking in there?! You can't do that!". We had literally just walked in from smoking in the parking lot. Why would we smoke in our room, if we were just outside smoking? And why yell at us and assume. Yelling up at someones window, because it's open and I'm looking out at the lobby? Mind your own business! and it was un-professional and intrusive! It made me feel like my privacy was invaded and thst I couldn't look out my window. The other security guards were friendly and cool but not that one! It ruined my mood, too. Other than that, front desk workers were very pleasant and helpful. read more

Gayle and I stayed here for a couple of nights last weekend. I booked the room through the IHG app and got a good price. Hotel staff was nice and we appreciated not having to pay for parking. The bed was comfortable, the shower head released great water pressure, and the Wi-Fi worked well. At the same time, this place needs a refresh as the property looks a little sad and tired. The COVID restrictions probably make things look worse. And unlike the Holiday Inn Express (sister property), there was no food/beverage service available because of that. That pretty much left us with a property that worked for a good night's rest, but anything else required a trip somewhere or anywhere. read more

I don't even know where to start with this review. I'm not about being negative cause I really try to find positive even in the worst situations. When I walk into a hotel to check in and I'm smiling and greeting you instead of the other way around something is wrong. It felt like the person in the front desk did not want to be there or does not like her job. I get to my room and it felt so dirty from the moment I walked in. It felt grimy. There was a smell in there maybe just from it being f old. I was on the first floor and facing the street/blvd. There was a hole in the top ceiling corner of the bathroom. The door in the bathroom looked like it was peeling on the bottom. The tv wouldn't turn on and I guess it was unplugged. The bathroom wall looked dirty, like it wasn't wiped down. And one of the beds looked like someone had splashed something on the headboard and it was still there. The bed blanket felt more like a sheet it was so thin. The restaurant downstairs was closed. There were kids in the lobby with a bicycle riding around. I mean 15 17 years old with a bike thrown in the middle of the lobby. There was a quinceañera party so it was busy. We tried the "heated" pool, it was cold not heated. The hot tub was okay. I really think I would've enjoyed it a little more if the customer service was better. That first impression was horrible and the last one was too. When I went to the desk to turn in my keys I asked for. Copy of my receipt she said yes, then somehow changed her mind and said to ask Priceline for a copy of my receipt. I said I didn't book with Priceline she looked at my account and said you went through booking ask them. Was it too difficult to press print and get me a copy? Do you think she said enjoy your day?
