We needed to park our nomadic housecat for a couple of weeks while the RV ("home") went into the…read moreshop and we went to a hotel for work. We really hate when she needs to be boarded, because she is a pretty obstinate indoor-outdoor kitty and has no qualms about showing her displeasure when locked in small spaces for any length of time. One of the reasons these folks caught my eye is that they have nice big rooms available for only a few more dollars a day compared to the ubiquitous "cat condo". And while a 4x8 foot space is still kitty prison, at least there is room for impatient pacing. The girls I talked to were very friendly, kept the kennel spotless, and did their part to make the kitty feel at home. They didn't seem to have much of a crowd in residence at the time, but mid-September isn't exactly the peak of vacation season. We opted to bring our own food since the princess is picky, and the room had space for a couple of her personal items (not that those made her any happier about this adventure). Those bonuses and the extra attention she was able to coax out of the staff seemed to keep her stress level at bay. As is usually the case, she didn't speak to us (except to say things that would translate in to four-letter words in any human language) for a few days after picking her up. But she is definitely no worse for wear- no post-kennel PTSD or newfound distrust of the humans.

I have loved the Catnap Inn for several years -- it is the only place that I have taken my cat for…read moreboarding since I discovered them. She has high anxiety, and though she hates being taken there, once she settles in she is very happy. She has a fair sized room to hang out in, with no dogs around to stress her. She has a window to look out, and kind, regular caretakers. However, now I find out they are suddenly closing - I had reservations this summer (2018), but they are closing in the next couple of weeks - permanently! I am very sad and upset about this, as there are no other comparable places nearby that take only cats, or have a cats-only building, except one place that is $39 a day!! Who can afford that?! Anyway, I wish someone would buy the Catnap Inn and keep it open!!

They are always accommodating and take such great care of our animals! I love that they are a cat friendly practice. I recommend Magrane to all my friends! I will always recommend Magrane to any pet owners who are looking for a good vet. I've had experience with many of the vets and all of them are good at what they do! I will start positive, Dr. Harr is amazing. However, the receptionists (any many other staff…read moreaccording to these reviews), are not very pleasant. Every time I've talked to someone on the phone or in person they are always SO mean and act like whatever we're talking about is a an absurd inconvenience. They seem like they don't have any compassion. I thought maybe they were having a bad day so I tried to be light hearted and nice... they were still so rude and acted very cold. My dog (Pomsky a little over a year old at the time) has issues with aggression primarily when he's sleeping and some resource guarding habits. This developed after having a cyst on his head. When we brought him in to get it looked at and for his shots, the doctor and assistant, knowing his issues, brought him into the back? I've always been in the room while they've given him shots and he's done amazingly. It's because of the pain he was in that he wasn't friendly. They reported the bite, understandably, but couldn't it have been avoided if they had just NOT taken a dog with aggression away from its owner? They told us we had a to do the "chill protocol" which basically means we brought him back the next day and gave him some melatonin and pain medicine before bringing him in. He was very distraught and confused, I understand why they wanted to do it, but it just left him a lot more scared of everything than he needed to be. They cleaned and drained the cyst as much as possible but they also created severe anxiety for him and he will probably hate every vet I take him too. I'm going to bring treats and see if we can make it positive again. I do NOT recommend coming here at all. Not to mention they charged me almost $1000 for the two visits?! We didn't even have the cyst removed (couldn't afford it). That's ridiculous. The cyst is back now and he just turned two as well so we are going to go get his shots done and schedule a surgery for removal. I will NEVER step foot in this place again.

Perfect example of why...I just went into Kryder to register my pets in St Joseph Count because the Humane Society website says you can to do it at ANY vet. Spot's was fairly quick and efficient: unlike some groomers, we didn't have to leave the dog there to sit for hours before and after the haircut. The groomer was careful to ask specific questions about the desired haircut -- very thoughtful and conscientious. The haircut itself is exactly what we asked for, a nice close cut for the warmer weather. We happily recommend Spot's to anyone else looking for a dog groomer in the area and will definitely be taking our other terrier there soon, too.
