He had laid there, attempting to get up twice and failing, once moaning out in pain and he was ignored, even laughed at. The sitter and her boyfriend walked past him over and over and never checked on him. The position he was laying in wasn't normal and it never became concerning when he cried or did not move in well over 6 hours. Combine that with the slamming of my cabinet doors while she fought with her boyfriend, putting her shoes on my brand new furniture, and leaving pee soaked diapers and condom wrappers in my bathroom trashcan, I cannot in good faith recommend this company. My cat suffered needlessly. The contract I filled out with them gave them more contacts than asked for in case of an emergency and my daughter lives 2 streets away. All they would have had to do was care and call for help. After I sent a detailed email stating the exact time each incident of my cat trying to get up and moaning out in pain happened, I got no response. I sent it again via facebook messenger and was told they read my email yesterday and again, they were very sorry for my loss. Sorry for my loss? Where is the apology for allowing my cat to lay there dying hour after hour? Where is the apology for the disrespect for my home? Where is the verification that the girl entrusted with my pets care has been fired and will never be allowed to do this to another pet or family? My heart is broken and I'm in complete shock that someone who chooses to work with pets had such disregard for a pet in very obvious need of help.

Carolyn and her staff are caring and concerned with my dog's health and safety while staying at Dogtown Resort. Carolyn goes that extra mile for all her dogs and their owners. I was out of town and needed to have my dog in care on an emergency basis. With the upcoming holiday, there was a chance I needed to return home early to pick up my dog. Carolyn was at a vet appt herself and returned my call later to say she will make it work!! For those of you who feel Dogtown Resort prices are high, the national average for kennel overnight is more than $40 up to $85. In California, I paid $50 per night! Yikes!! Even though our family was pretty social, she was never part of our social life. When people came over, we put her in a locked room. She rarely went in the car anyplace, and going to the vet was a nightmare. Last summer, I turned Aubrey's world upside down. I got married and moved into a new house. This household included another dog and a special needs 26 year old. The first few weeks were stressful. Aubrey was very anxious and my stepson did not read her cues. There were a few bite incidents and nobody could relax. I didn't know what to do and thought I would have to surrender my dog. I looked online and saw Kasten's Dog Training, which I knew to be close to my new house in Elkhart. I truly doubted that anyone could help my six year old dog. I called and scheduled an online interview. I remember feeling very optimistic after that first phone call. Right away, I felt like there was someone who understood what we were going through, and was going to help me keep my dog. I had nothing much to lose, so I signed her up! Aubrey participated in Program 5- Behavioral Modification for Aggressive Dogs and Dogs with a Bite History. She spent 21 days at Kasten's split into two sessions. After the first 9 days, I came to pick her up and immediately noticed a difference in her demeanor. She completed the second half of her training right before Christmas. When my son came home college, he was shocked to see how much better she was behaving. She had a new confidence and was no longer so anxious. She was a treat to take on walks and we didn't have to worry about her darting out the door anytime it opened. We have taken Aubrey to Kasten's for boarding several times in the past year. Being able to board her, and know she is safe, has been such a blessing. The fact that she was receiving refreshers as she stayed there was an added bonus. Before coming to Kasten's, I never would have even thought that I could board her anywhere. The trainers at Kasten's were so helpful and did such a great job with Aubrey. They worked tirelessly with her, and I could see the extra effort that they put in to get her to feel more comfortable, and eventually enjoy training sessions. Kasten's Dog Training has improved our family's life. We can now enjoy our active social lives and include Aubrey. She jumps happily into her kennel when told, walks on a leash like a show dog and even goes on trips to the hardware store several times a month. She and my stepson have a mutual understanding, and both of them feel much safer around each other. Making that phone call to Kasten's was truly one of the best decisions that I have ever made. After the first time they were groomed by Tracy, I never went anywhere else. She gives them back to me looking perfect and completely happy. In the past, I used to feel guilty trying to coach them inside the salon. When we arrive at Hoosier Doggie they are anxious to get inside, a big clue to me that they love being there. I've moved around a bit and now travel 50 miles each way to get my dogs groomed at Hoosier Doggie because I don't trust anyone to be as good or as caring as Tracy.
