Even though it's been a while since I was in South America, those red wine and meat (and red wine) evenings will be forever ingrained in my memory. Before coming here I never really had a taste for wine...fast forward 11 days later at the airport getting ready to board my flight to Dallas...who is that guy trying to jam that 8th bottle of wine into his already overpacked carry on? This guy. Half of those bottles were from Mendoza, Argentina - and the other half came from this very vineyard. The sheer size of this place combined with the volume of red (and white) goodness originating in a sea of barrels was astounding. They saw our group of 20+ people and took on the challenge of a group of MBA students tired from a long day of MBA-ing, MORE than in the mood to have a few tastings of wine, followed by a few glasses of that very same wine. The tour was awesome - from exploring the grounds to walking the depths of the wine cellar, through the dark, damp hallway, around the corner into the Casillero del Diablo, where the devil himself (or his designee) was lurking right around the corner, bathed in the requisite red. It was a really cool touch to an already awesome experience. Plus, I still see and purchase Casillero del Diablo wine in most liquor stores, so they gained a customer for life with that one. South America was a top notch trip, and my experience at Concha Y Toro helped introduce and cement Chilean & Argentinian Malbec into my beverage routine...says the guy definitely drinking a glass of Malbec while he types this.

I've been on many wine tours and this place was a cut above most tours. They are generous with the amount of wine we tasted. I think 9 glasses. And it also included a nice cheese platter. When we toured the vineyard we got to pick the grapes and eat as much as we liked. The sommelier was also entertaining. He was nice enough to lead the tasting in English and he was also down to earth.

The corn pie looks unassuming, but underneath is tender beef stewed in beer

The tour was just ok. Our guide had good English, but didn't seem to know that much about wine beyond what they had taught her to say. They tried to add a high production value to the tour, adding hokey little videos here and there. But as somebody who has an actual interest in wine, this fell flat on me. The one good thing about visiting Concha y Toro is the on site restaurant. The corn pie with beef was amazing, as were the other foods I sampled. An added bonus was that ordering a bottle of wine with your meal was the same price as buying a bottle from their gift shop.

I have always avoided visiting Concha y Toro because I knew they where the largest wine producer in South America and I knew they where a big operation. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the tour and the guide, the beautiful grounds, the very nice gift shop, the helpful associates, beautiful eating areas, patios, restaurants, and views. The cellars where cool. I appreciated them pouring the better wines for tastings versus other Chilean wineries that I have visited that simply pour their cheapest wines which leave a bad impression of the wineries. You can tour by yourself or with a tour operator. Tours are offered in English. They let you keep your tasting glass and will give you a box to safely carry your glass home. You purchase the tickets at a booth near the parking lot and meet for the tours by the patio near the gift shop. www.conchaytoro.com

We tasted 3 different wines. The tour was just around 1.5 hours. The tours are provided both in English and Spanish.

Wish they would offer tastings, not the full tours including tasting. Unfortunately, the staff was not friendly today (april 20, 2017). The cashier was rude at the wine shop and the waitress at the wine bar was not pleasant. :( Nice property but very commercial. Many people, even on a week day, off season. Many other nice wineries, this one is not a must. It's the most known one but don't hesitate to go discover other ones. Please make reservations, that is how they do it in Chile.

This tour was not originally in my agenda but I had a few hours to kill and decided to go with a coworker since it is very close to Santiago. It is not the actual winery where the Concha y Toro wines are made but they do have a very nice touristy set up and the tour fee includes a couple of tastings. They do have a nice wine bar that offers some food. The tour groups are large and you are rushed because the next tour is almost right behind you. But you can spend as much time as you want in the bar/restaurant.

The line isn't long but it moves verrrrry slowly

Great tour and tour guides but I'm giving two stars for the horrible initial experience and lack of service from any other employees. We arrived 40 minutes before our tour when the website only recommended 20 minutes. However, I think that at least an hour before your scheduled tour is necessary. The group of five in front of us took 25 minutes alone to be processed and they immediately knew which tour they wanted! Until they fix their "welcome," I'd advise people to look elsewhere for wine tours.

Prosciutto salad in front, vegetarian empanadas in background, red and white wine tastings.

We skipped the tour, etc. and headed straight for the restaurant to do a tasting over lunch. The food was tasty. The wine was good. Service was prompt and friendly. Someone came by to describe the wines, which were labeled as well (helpful). The setting was open and casual. Other notes. The bathrooms were notably nice. Because we did not purchase a tour, we could not walk through the gardens on our way back to the parking lot, oh well. The drive back into the city took much longer than expected (over an hour vs 20 min) even though it was relatively light city traffic.

Before arriving I thought I was lost because I could not understand how that would be a winery in the middle of the city, but it was, and it is really beautiful. The staff here was so sweet and I tasted some really really good wines at a fraction of the cost of those in California. I'm talking $10-$20 bottles that are absolutely fantastic. You will enjoy this place.

I enjoyed the wines here and getting to tour a winery that, unlike the ones in CA, wasn't built in…read morethe past 20-50 years. There's almost 150 years of history behind this place, and the facilities and wines show that. What made my visit even more enjoyable was doing it through La Biciclete Verde (https://labicicletaverde.com/tour/bike-wine-tour-cousino-macul-vineyard/), which pairs a tour of the winery with a bike tour of the vineyards, including a tasting under the trees and a tasting after the tour. Wines: I loved the Sauvignon Gris, which I'd never tried before. It tasted like a crisper and even less sweet Sauv. Blanc. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay, which is unusual for me. I found the Syrah to be very good. But my favorite was the Lota red blend, which I had an opportunity to try in their wine bar, and absolutely worth the ~$15 for a glass (the bottles retail for about $80). Facilities: With that 150 years of history, there are buildings here that have survived from day one, severe Chilean earthquakes notwithstanding. The wines aren't aged in the original cellars anymore due to a mold that's taken hold in them, but because of Chile's antiquities laws, all of the original fermentation vessels remain, as well as endless rows of barrels down in the dungeons. There's an impressive combination of the new (modern PLC-controlled stainless steel processing equipment) on grounds hosting some 80+ year old vines that are still watered by redirected streams from the Andes. The People: Our guide Adriane was very informative and gave the tour in a Spanish that I could completely understand (the Chilean dialect can be difficult to those of us so used to the Mexican variety). The wine bar staff were very helpful in answering additional questions, and of course, providing that lovely, decanted Lota red. Getting There: An easy 30 min Metro ride from greater central Santiago, followed by a ~$5 cab ride, which is even cheaper if you get off at the right stop. And for leaving, an employee was giving ~$1.50 rides back to the Metro in her Chrysler minivan.

The scenery is beautiful, amazing ambiance. Allison put so much thought and knowledge into the tour. Our group was mainly English speaking and there was no language barrier with Allison. Emiliana Organic Vineyard is a gorgeous spot and well worth visiting…read more This was my first visit to a winery, so I can't compare it to any others, but I think I picked an awesome first one to visit! While I didn't go on the wine tasting tour (not with children in tow), my family and I visited the wineshop and peruse the vineyard independently. We had to check in at a guard gate to enter, and wind our way through tons of grapevine fields. Another station guarded the parking lot. After this, we were able to wander as we pleased without supervision or anyone telling us what we should be doing. The property is gorgeous with tons of plants and greenery, a nice breeze and the mountains in view all around us; this made for altogether a quiet and peaceful experience. The openness allowed my children to happily run wild, alongside the chickens and pheasants grazing on the lawns around the wine shop. We watched the Alpacas in their stone-walled keep and even went inside the (also stone-walled) organic garden bursting with vegetables, herbs and fruit trees. The wine shop building itself is stunning in the beauty of its design, both inside and out. Inside on the first floor, wines and other goods are for sale, including a tiny Patagonia-brand clothing/gear section! The windows are surrounded by a ton of tall, striking flowers, and we were able to watch Large Chilean Hummingbirds close-up and in action feasting on these flowers. We purchased our wine and peered at the view from upstairs before heading out to the massive back porch and patio area of tables and chairs. I drank a coffee out here; unfortunately, the separate cafe/restaurant had already closed (we arrived in the mid-late afternoon). On the way back to the parking lot, we took pictures and my children even climbed some trees. Thanks for a great visit, Emiliana!

I LOVED this wine tour! I've never been to Napa, but my boyfriend has a few times and he said this…read morewas on par with the napa experience. We found this place on trip advisor and we're a bit wary of it the $195/person was worth what we were getting. I was also nervous when I didn't get any confirmation from my deposit on PayPal. Our guide, Cristian, arrived at our hotel around 8am in a very nice bus and we proceeded to pick up the other guests at their hotels. On the way through the city, Cristian provided a "city tour" and tons of interesting information. This continued after we left Santiago and travelled through the countryside on the way to Casablanca valley. The wineries we went to were great (Loma Larga, Bodegas RE, and Morandé). We purchased wines at the first two! Note: LOma ships back home for free but Bodegas doesn't offer shipping) The lunch was four courses of delicious bread, poké, steak and risotto, and dessert with sparkling wine tasting! We left and we're back at our hotel by 5:30 in time to get ready for our evening plans! I would HIGHLY recommend this Uncorked tour, it is WELL worth it. Cristian is starting his own tour company on the coast in Valparaiso, "Coast of Poets" so he won't be touring any longer sadly.
