I will be relying on Arlington Appliance for repairs from now on. My dryer, which is at least 9 years old, stopped blowing heat. I called Arlington Appliance and, because it was a busy time (right before Christmas), had to schedule an appointment four business days later. This seemed reasonable to me because a broken dryer isn't a crisis--you can hang-dry or go to the laundromat in the meantime. Bill and Bruce arrived within the two-hour window they'd promised. They took apart my dryer and identified the heating element as the problem. Bill thought he might have the part back at his shop, so the two of them zipped off and returned within 15 minutes. He didn't have the part, but said he could get it that same evening and return the next day to install it. He asked for a $100 deposit (check) towards a $300 total charge for parts, labor and scheduling fee (which is waived if you end up needing real work). Bill came back on time the next day and had the dryer running in no time--two days before Christmas. He even gave me some advice: let the dryer cool down 10-15 minutes between each load. The last thing I'll mention is that Arlington Appliance doesn't have a showroom. Bill told me that the manufacturers control showrooms--what's being pushed, where the merchandise is positioned--and that these demands often conflict with what the customer actually needs. I think that, because Arlington Appliance is a repair service and not a sales-driven business, you're going to get a service more interested in squeezing all you can get from your existing appliances before resorting to buying something new. This is both economical and better for the environment. While I hope that I don't have to call Arlington Appliance often, I know I'll be in good hands when I do.

7 Months. 2 Measurements. 2 Failed Installations. Still Not Done…read more If you are considering using Lowe's in Woburn for installation services, don't. My wife and I started a storm door project in August during their "free installation" promotion. We needed Larson storm doors and I clearly stated from Day 1 that the frames required a build-out. I was told this was routine and handled "all the time." That statement turned out to be fiction. Measurement #1: They missed the first appointment. Rescheduled for 10am the next day. Arrived at 1pm. I again explained the build-out requirement. It was not documented. Installation Attempt #1: Installer shows up and informs me: Two doors are bent and unusable. They were never told about the build-out. The porch rails might prevent installation. They drill holes into my front door frame and then leave. Zero completed work. We start over. Measurement #2: Different person comes out after I request someone with more experience. Photos taken. Build-out discussed again. Then comes the quote confusion. I'm told I owe roughly $500 more because the build-out wasn't properly carried over in the new quote. When I ask for documentation comparing the original and revised totals, I'm told the associate "doesn't want to do the math." I had to fight through their automated phone system for nearly an hour just to get basic pricing documentation. Seven months later, end of February, installers return. Installation Attempt #2: They immediately inform me the measurements AGAIN failed to account for build-out width and rail placement. Their proposed solution? Cut my porch rails and improvise framing. They also suggest relocating my house numbers "off to the side." At that point, I stopped the work. Seven months. Two measurement appointments. Two failed installations. Damage to my door frame. Incomplete project. This wasn't a complicated custom job. It was storm doors with a clearly disclosed build-out requirement from the beginning. The pattern here isn't a mistake, it's systemic incompetence between sales, measurement, and installation. I will be hiring an actual professional to finish the job. If you value your time, your home, and basic project management competence, do not use Lowe's installation services.

Third call over a month later I was told that the location had been closed and they could do nothing for me, I was directed to call their head office 888-998-2011. Love this part, the answering system asks for zip code of your location before you are able to talk to someone come to find out there is no service anywhere near my home anymore so it hangs up on you. I was able to get thru by pressing the number if I was calling from Canada. You are now sent to a scheduling service only. I have had them escalate this issue 3x now with zero response from Mr. Appliance their answering service say they have no other way to help and we have been forced after over a month without an oven to have another company come in and pay another 350.00 diagnostic fee and a 800.00 repair bill to finally get our oven fixed. We are also still out our original 350.00 with no way to contact Mr. Appliance corporate (so much for customer services). They are part of the neighborly company and their slogan is "It's Not Done, Until It's Done Right!!" Never trust this company, they have actively set their system to give customers as little customer service as possible. They closed the location with total disregard for their customer, leaving us and I'm sure other's out of pocket and with their repairs not completed.

I contacted Home Pro and got a very quick response from David. Within 30 minutes of his arrival, David had diagnosed the problem as a faulty door switch. Unfortunately, the part had to be ordered but within 48 hours, the part arrived and David was back at my home to complete the repair - with a savings of more than $125 off the LG offer. David is professional and very respectful of my home. The first thing he did when he arrived was to put on "hospital booties" to protect my rugs. That attention to detail plus his ability to diagnose / repair in a timely manner is reason enough to recommend Home Pro. Kathy

He quickly assessed that the drain pump was not functioning correctly. He gave me a honest quote, and he asked if I wanted to make the repair. After discussing with my wife, we agreed to get the washer repaired. He had the part with him and got to work to replace the part. In addition to making the repair well, he spent time to check that the washer worked after replacing the part and that it did not leak before closing the washer up. He then moved back the washer in place even though I am the one who moved the washer in the first place. He gave me a 1-year warranty on the repair as he used a genuine LG part. He was professional and courteous. I would definitely call Home Pro Appliance again for any appliance problem.

The sales experience was excellent with Rob, who was much more knowledgeable than the big box store people. The installer was prompt and did a fine job. The most important thing was a couple weeks after getting it we had a leak under the sink and company coming for the weekend. The service manager (Jerry) came out within a couple of hours and found the problem: the garbage disposal! He told us how to fix it and after spending an hour testing everything did not charge us. That's why we chose the local business and we will do the same every time!

Second try a few days ago not so much. The sales guy was either having a bad day or should not be let loose on customers. He showed me one machine and when I asked to compare, he was put out. He didn't answer questions civily. Frankly it was weird. I left there never wanting to return. I am not a fan of Home Depot, but others suggested it, including my contractor who said he buys his appliances from there - so off I went. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I dealt with 2 women who knew what they were talking about, helped me save some $ and offered excellent AND PLEASANT advice. Perhaps Doyon's should look into hiring a few women?? Just curious: why does Doyons have over 350 Google reviews and a 4.8 rating, while on Yelp they have a rating of 2.5--with comments far closer to my experience? Seems v. odd to me
