I wrote my full review on Google Maps, but I'll sum it up here. Just don't pick this place as one to have your DOT physical exam b/c you will most likely wait a couple hours in a room by yourself w/ no one ever checking in on you nor offering you any snack or water before you can have your 4.5-minute exam. In detail, I visited on Friday, March 31, 2023. I walked inside at 10:40 a.m. (local time), was called at 11:14 a.m. to begin my urine drug screening, alcohol breathe test, and measurements (weight, BP, etc.), and finished them all at 11:36 a.m. From 11:36 a.m. to 2 p.m. (on the dot), I waited alone in a room for a 4.5-minute DOT physical exam. I walked out with my papers around 2:04 p.m. If you do decide to come here, charge your phone to a high value or bring a portable charger, come with water to give yourself, and, well, basically pack like it's a child's field trip, b/c you'll be here for a good amount of hours from checking in to until your paperwork is handed to you and you're able to finally leave - and I even filled out a form prior to my visit to help expedite this process the day of. How pathetic for a business with "Urgent" in its name. To add, I did another urine drug test the Monday of that same work week at a LabCorp inside a Walgreens. Want to know how fast I was in and out of the building? 1:08-1:26 p.m. (local time). That's walking in, checking in, waiting, performing the administered drug test, getting my paperwork, and walking out to the parking lot. While CUC and LabCorp did different things, the fact a LabCorp can do a drug test for me faster than the time I waited inside CUC to be seen to provide my sample, it's ridiculous yet also hilarious to think of. read more

Wonderful staff and low wait time! I went in to get a physical and some tests done for work compliance and had a great experience. I recommend showing up when they open so you don't have to wait to be seen (I got seen within 10-15 mins of arrival). Brad and Eric were awesome and made the whole experience seamless! Ended up here twice for the same issue 2 days apart and was misdiagnosed the first time and the second time I felt like I was just pushed out with no more information. Sure glad I trusted my body and went to an emergency room and was accurately diagnosed and had to have emergency surgery to get my issue fixed. I never felt welcomed from the start because I wasn't there for a drug test or physical screening for a job. If that's the only services you want to provide than you should advertise yourself as that. I will never go here again for anything. read more

This facility was one of the dirtiest places I've ever walked into. I was in a wheelchair and there was no button to press to automatically open the doors. An ADA no no. While we were in the waiting room and I was filling out paperwork, there were two very large roaches dying on their backs, waving their legs. The nurses were great, the doctor irrelevant. read more

Sprained my foot and stopped by this Concentra. The visit itself was fine, everyone was very nice, especially the x-ray tech. The visit took a while as a whole, but it's an urgent care and everyone is doing their best. My frustration lies here: I was specifically asked which pharmacy I'd like my anti-inflammatory rx sent to, and I told them which one (it's the H‑E‑B down the street, you can nearly see it from the Concentra). After my visit I stopped by to find that they hadn't received it yet, which wasn't a surprise because I had just left the urgent care. Two days go by, and I go back to pick it up because SURELY it had been filled, only to find out they they still hadn't received anything. I called Concentra to find out that, even after specifically asking me, they sent my rx to a pharmacy in my college town hours away that must have been tied to my phone number (I've been out of college for nearly a decade). Simple mistakes aside, why would I send a prescription to aid my sprained foot somewhere hours away? That wasn't a red flag? Giving them the benefit of the doubt, because again, we're all doing our best these days, I told them again which pharmacy to send it to. I gave the exact address, again. I get a text from my pharmacy saying it's ready only to go there again and find out that they sent it to another location across town, and without a drive through. I'm obviously trying to stay off my foot, and all this running around due to their lack of attention to detail is really frustrating. I also can't imagine if I needed this rx for something more urgent or serious. I live blocks away from this Concentra, and I'll be going anywhere else the next time I need urgent care. The staff is friendly enough but that only goes so far when the follow-through and attention to detail aren't there. read more

Spent $40 here just to walk in suffering and leave suffering. The symptoms I relayed to the doctor was Severe sore throat, sinus pressure through the roof, and to top it off occasionally struggling to breathe, WHEEZING. Annd I let her know I have a history of asthma. All they did was give me a covid and strep test which both came back negative (I had to take a covid test before I showed up so I knew I was negative already). After that it REALLY felt like the doctor didn't give a shit about me. I had to ask if they would even listen to my chest and she basically just wrote me off and said "you're standing up straight" so you should be good. This is the worst urgent care facility I have been to. We unfortunately have to come several times since we live so close by. Doctors and staff have no problems lying to people in the waiting room. We spent over an hour and a half waiting (we were the only people in the waiting room) and were told three patients were in the back. It turns out the doctor was having an extended lunch hour, and nobody was being seen. We were twice told it would be an additional 10 minutes before the receptionist said it would be another half hour. AFTER the doctor had his hour long lunch and we had already waited 90 minutes. Texas MedClinic is right across the street. Go there instead. They have a great waiting room and more staff to work with patients. read more

Fast and Thorough! I went to this Concentra yesterday after being in a car accident on the feeder road of I35 at Slaughter. I was seen within 15 minutes after arrival. Dr. Baskerville attended to me is an excellent doctor. He was very thorough in his examination. He asked me many questions and did not seem rushed or sidetracked as sometimes I feel at Urgent Care centers. I would definitely come to this location again and ask for him. read more

Don't let the name fool ya, this care is not too urgent from what I have read and seen.... Wow. So I went here because my second job had a random drug testing request test that they needed all employees to do by a certain deadline. When I went in, there were 3 hispanic girls that were nice but spoke very fast and rushed around constantly. I was on my lunch break so I told them that and one blonde girl said, "oh this will only take a few minutes". Another brunette girl saw me and said the same thing about ten minutes later. They asked me for my ID twice which was just wierd. If they would stop rushing and communicate they would have known that one of those girls had already captured a copy of my ID. They also kept calling me up at random times because they kept needing a signature. If they would have quit hurrying, they would not have had to do so much of that.....it was annoying after the third time they called my name up there. 45 minutes later, I began getting impatient, so I got up and asked yet a different girl (because they were all going about everything way too fast so I could never get anyone's attention) and she told me it would be at least an hour. She said that since it was rainy outside that they were much busier. I understood that, but there were maybe only 7 patients in the lobby, total. I was ahead of about 5 of them and needed to be on my way, too. I did not need a doctor, just to get my test done quickly as previously advised..... I let the third girl know that they had all told me different times. I finally told them I had to go back to work as soon as possible. Under 5 minutes later, a lady came out and we were done with my testing in literally two minutes. When people rush around like that, it makes everyone nervous. It just seemed shady. I am thankful for the location, but truly hope that I don't have to go back there anytime soon for anything at all. read more

Definitely some mixed reviews on here, but my wife was very ill and this was close so I took a chance and brought her here as I didn't want to spend hours on my Yelp app or driving around. I'm happy to say I'm very glad I did bring her here as everyone we encountered was very friendly, caring and professional and took good care of us. Definitely felt true care here with one of the women from the front desk even wheel-chairing my wife to the car and the Doctor who saw us was nothing but sweet and kind. Great to know such level of care exists and especially for such a relatively low price ($32 co-pay). This will be our go-to place if we have any future needs! read more

Just had the most horrible experience with customer service from Erica. She waited five minutes to acknowledge me at the desk. When I told her I just needed my to pick up my ID she told me to take a seat. I had my service dog with me and she told me I had to leave immediately. She was so rude and loud in her request. I asked her if she wanted my name so she could at least retrieve my ID. when outside I told her again my dog was a service dog with proper identification . She said it didn't matter, I told her he was hypo allergenic. In pretty sure ADA would disagree. I will Never go back and I will tell all my family and friends about this experience . I went in this past Monday to have my ankles looked at-- a running injury-- and the good doctor recommended some simple, easy remedies for alleviating my pain and getting me back on the trail. I did not have the same experience. I went on a sunny Monday, I suppose, back in February, and had such a great visit. Therefore, I felt the need to give this place a good review. All of the front staff were very sweet. They were slammed, and I could tell. I work in the health care profession, and am often on the other side, so I am extremely empathetic to any health care personnel and the role they are in. Why one of the other reviewers felt the need to mention their race in her review is beyond me because it's completely irrelevant, and additionally, I'm pretty sure that keeping the content of your review relevant is a Yelp guideline. I will continue. They communicated my estimated wait time to me, even though it was an hour due to their volume. I understood, as they are primarily an URGENT CARE, meaning they've got shenanigans going on behind the scenes from more urgent situations. It wasn't more than 25 minutes of sitting in the busy lobby, drinking my free coffee and enjoying my snacks, when the medical assistant called me back to a room, where the best part was yet to come. Bo McManus, PA, was the most hilarious, kind-hearted, knowledgeable, and trust worthy provider I have ever encountered, and I mean this truly. I had a semi-strange medical situation, and was nervous and fearful for my health. He ran plenty of blood work, as I would want any thorough provider to do. I asked all sorts of outrageous scenario questions, as my paranoid brain works, and he answered every single one, including courses of treatment for all of my bizarre scenarios. I left there feeling secure and well taken care of. Bravo, Mr. McManus! Once all of my lab results were in, I called up to the center to see if I could get a paper copy to take back to my primary care physician. The front desk girl, again, was so thoughtful in offering to either mail or fax my records to me or my doctor in efforts to save me a trip. I found this overall experience to be easy, even though they were hectic. Understand that doctor's offices are going to be busy and there will be wait times. If you look to make the worst experience out of everything, you will get exactly that. read more

I went in today at around 10:45 am for a cyst removal off my lower back. I was checked in pretty quickly and taken to one of the patient rooms where I was told I may have to wait a while by the medical assistant because of the other patients that had to be seen. The physician who was to attend to me was right outside my room on the computer. I walked out a few times to see if anyone was going to attend to me and that physician was still there. It didn't appear there were many patients and hardly a soul was in sight. I waited until 1:00 pm before I decided not to wait longer. Again, the physician was on the computer and didn't appear to be busy or concerned about patients. I wasted almost 3 hours of my day for nothing. And nobody checked in with me or assured me the doc would be attending me soon. No apologies! No nothing! No thanks Concentra! I'll never again waste my time with such an unprofessional setup. read more

Which would be understandable except that one of them had just gotten their license a month before the physical and was fine on their license the other got their license the same day and wasn't told they need glasses. I should have read the reviews on Yelp before going to this Concentra. This place is terrible. If you can go anywhere else, do so. I went in on a Friday morning shortly after they had opened. I was the 3rd person in the waiting room. I went due to back pain from a bad fall and wanted x-rays to make sure nothing was broken/cracked. I was in a lot of pain. I waited in the waiting room for 50 minutes, while people who came in after me were seen before me. I finally went up to the counter and it was clear that they had just forgotten about me. Then they took me back, and the assistant could not find my name in their system. She left for about 10 minutes and said "oh they just forgot to hit enter after they put in your information". WOW. Then she took my vitals and told me it would be another 20-30 minutes before the doctor could see me. 40 minutes later the doctor came in. She was nice and examined me, and later an x-ray tech took x-rays. The tech was nice but was coughing up a lung (seriously, it was alarming); really gross in a doctor's office. The doctor told me that nothing was broken and said she'd prescribe me something for my pain. Then I went back out to the lobby and waited, and after about 15 minutes the front desk people told me I didn't need to wait, that my prescription would be called in to my pharmacy. This was on Friday. I called my pharmacy later that day and no one had called in my prescription. I called my pharmacy on Saturday; no prescription. All of this while I have severe back pain. Went to the pharmacy on Monday; no prescription. I called Concentra at 11 am on Monday and a rude man on the phone assured me that my prescription would be called in. Called my pharmacy on Monday at 6 pm; no prescription. Finally I sent a fax to Concentra Monday night requesting that they fill my prescription- 4 days after my appointment! I figured something in writing may help. On Tuesday, 5 days after my appointment for severe back pain, my prescription was sent to my pharmacy. It never would have been sent to my pharmacy if I hadn't sent the fax. Hopefully my stomach lining isn't ruined due to all the Ibuprofen I had to take in the 5 days I waited for Concentra to call in my prescription. What an awful, disorganized place. Try another place; any other place!! read more

I give one star because every one was really nice, but everything they did was completely wrong and caused me a week long stay in the hospital. It's really short and sweet as to what happened. First off, I had a dog bite so I look up urgent care clinics in the area since I'm not from the S. Austin area. We first go to the William Cannon location where I start filling out paperwork and they come and tell me that they are out of tetanus shots, but they had already called the 35 and Slaughter location for me. Once I arrive to the Slaughter location I was able to go straight back since I already had all the paperwork filled out. Once I'm back there, the nurse does a small Q&A to get details and I wait maybe 10 minutes before the doctor comes in. She comes in, looks at it, had us wash it with some hand soap then she reviewed it some more for proper care. She finally decides to cauterize it to stop the bleeding and to apply some steri strips. She said that she didn't want to put stitches in because that would for sure cause infection. She stated that she had two options, to either glue it with Dermabond or steri strips. So once she couldn't contain the bleeding, she went with Demabond. This was it. Period. Nothing else. So within 24 hours, I was fully infected in my arm. They were very nice and kind when I left Saturday and mentioned that if I had any concerns to feel free to call. Well, Sunday afternoon when my arm was warm to the touch, visibly red and very painful, along with I felt completely lethargic I called them back. I explained to the lady who answered that I had just been in Saturday afternoon with a dog bite, explained what they did to take care of it, and how I was feeling then. She puts me on hold for a few minutes to ask someone else and they simply come back with, "Put some ice on it". Umm... okay, I had already been doing that so really, there doesn't seem to be a concern? She puts me on hold again. When she finally comes back she states that "Yes ma'am, unless the arm becomes fully red, not just pink and not just around the bite itself, you'll be fine, just ice it. You're just naturally sore." I was a bit hesitant, but hung up the phone. They are the professionals, right?? Well, to conclude this story, I went to the ER later Sunday night to learn, WOW, you NEVER glue a dog bite shut because it TRAPS all the bacteria in! Just the opposite of what the Urgent Care clinic stated. Also, they sent me home with NO antibiotics! The ER was appalled. My ER visit turned into an admission around 2am and I didn't leave the hospital till Friday afternoon. Yes, that's right, a full 5 days along with a surgery due to their negligence. I will never go to an urgent care clinic again. Period. read more

I came in not to see a doctor but for preemployment lifting screening. Mr Jackson was a great help. His demonstrations were spot on. His lifting technique? Superior. His ability to adapt to my humor and go with it? Unobtainable. The test was simple until he read the last requirement, 150 step ups. Dang. The facility was spacious. The front desk was super efficient. The lady/nurse that helped my was super nice and friendly. Not paying anything made it super awesome. Had a fun 90 minute visit. read more

Not friendly, helpful, needs a different position here. Filled out his paper work they needed his ID; which he could not find. The front desk woman refused to even process his paper work without his ID. Since we were paying cash. This seemed a bit excessive. I asked to speak to someone else. She rudely yells to the back "this woman is asking about not having an id" I politely interrupted and said no. I asked to speak to a manager. That person was quite nice. Waited forever. Another employee walked into the room while I was waiting and didn't know what room she was in. There were bugs in the exam room and the bathroom was filthy. I walked out without a diagnosis. Huge waste of time. They had no curtesy to tell me I would be waiting a lot longer than expected. Any other place would be much better.
