I absolutely HATE that I chose to come to this urgent care!!!!! I recently hurt my back at work (about two weeks ago). I came to Concentra hoping that I would get faster and better service than what I would have gotten from an ER. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! First of all I'm not the type of person to go to the doctor unless I absolutely have to. The front desk employees were friendly and were willing to contact my employer to verify who I was since I didn't have any kind of picture ID on me. That was great!!! However, sitting in the waiting room about 30mins I had to use the restroom. While I was in the restroom the nurse called me back, but since I was in the restroom I guess I missed my turn. I had to wait another 10 to 15 mins to be taken back. Before being guided to an exam room I was taken into another room where they took my vitals (the nurse wasn't very friendly). I brushed that off my shoulder. I get taken to an exam room where we (my husband, 2yr old son, and I) waited what seemed like 30-45 mins (I was in quite a bit of pain so wasn't paying close attention to time) before a doctor even decides to come in. The PA who saw me was not in the least bit friendly and or concerned about me as a patient let alone the pain I was in. She asked me how I hurt my back. I told her picking up a bag of soil at work (short version). First thing she says is "I'm going to need you to show me how you bent over to pick it up." I chuckled and told her there's absolutely no way I would be able to show her. My pain scale was an 8 I was hardly able to walk, sit down, lay down, or even stand up straight. She continues to ask about my pain where it hurts, when it hurts the most, etc. The whole time I'm explaining to her my issue she's trying to pick apart everything I explained and tried finding contradictions in what I was telling her. My husband and I got a strong vibe that she found us to be drug seeking. She explained that my injury has nothing to do with bone or my spine and that she was going to order an x-ray. My husband asks "so you just said it has nothing to the skeletal system, so that means its muscular right?" She agreed. My husband confirmed with her that x-rays only do bone, which again she agreed. So he asked "why are you ordering an x-ray?" Her response, "Oh well sometimes showing people and x-ray makes them feel better." Really? She was honestly okay with that response. We told her it doesn't make sense to order one. She sent me to their in-house Physical Therapist that same day which I thought was awesome. The Physical Therapist is AMAZING. She asked me the same questions the PA asked me and found the source of the pain within 5minutes. That easy!!. She is the ONLY reason I am still being treated by this office.
Second visit which was a check up to see how things were going. Still the wait was pretty long we were in the office about 2hours. My husband and I were wanting specific info about the pills I was prescribed. We got nothing. This visit was with a different doctor although she was friendly (UNLIKE the first doctor); she did not answer our questions. We got the same answer over and over. We gave up.
Third visit was as bad as the first if not worse. So I had an appointment scheduled which I was 30 mins late. Yes I know that's my fault. I get that and I also get this is a business and they have their policies, but it is also an urgent care. The lady at the front desk explained they won't know if the doctor will see until AFTER I fill out their pain scale. Which I did. The lady at the desk said " sorry he won't see you if your more than 15mins late for an apt you have to reschedule. We can reschedule you for Tuesday." This was a Saturday. I had fallen in the shower the night before on the same place I hurt my back originally. I requested to be taken as a walk-in. I was told NO. WAIT WHAT?!?!? You are an urgent care and you are refusing my service? I argued with the lady at the front finally I told her I wanted the doctor to come out and tell me himself he is refusing to treat me and why he is refusing other than the fact that I was late. They called the Radiology tech who said she was the back office lead. We explained our experience we've had thus far with this establishment. She was extremely friendly got me what I needed and sent me on my way.
Fourth visit was dry and the doctor seemed like he just wanted to get in and out. I voiced my concerns about my injury and our experience we had with this office. He was the head physician (which is what I was told) so I expected a little more concern and empathy about both issues. Got nothing.
I am extremely disgusted with this office and 80% of the staff. Like I said before the physical therapist is the only reason I'm still getting service at this establishment. read more
