If you are a foodie, this is should be your final destination in France. I never even knew that there were this many types of fois gras and pates. The staff here are extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient. With their official looking uniforms they take you back to a time when people actually cared about what they were selling to you. I went with someone who was fluent in French, so that was very helpful. I also spent about an hour here, so you know they are patient. They have different size "sampler" packages of different cans of fois gras and pates. If you ask nicely, they will even give you cute little boxes to give out the sample cans as souvenirs. The sampler packages can run from about 40$-100$. There's an entire range of less expensive to more expensive varieties. Expect to drop about 30$US for a large can of fois gras (totally worth it, btw). The sample packages usually contain only one can of fois gras and other varieties of pates to include even chicken, pork. pheasant, and duck. Smaller, individual cans are less than 10$US. Also, don't worry about transporting the stuff home. I think customs is used to items from CDB, it's a canned product so it's okay to import. You can import from their website, but the shipping alone is I think 80$, so if you are in town and happen to have some extra space in your bag, it's worth carrying it home. read more
