I read all of Guy's reviews here before I called. Honestly, I was expecting a lot and that's exactly what I got. I only wish I had called him first. There was no way I would call the geek squad, and I made the mistake of calling some clowns on Craigs List. I couldn't even understand one guy, and the other one said he would be here the next morning and he never showed up. So, I resumed my search and that's when I came across the Computer Guy in Valencia. I spoke with Guy (yes, that's his name!) for about 15 minutes and it was obvious he knows what he's doing. We set an appointment for this morning, and he arrived right on time. Guy spent a couple hours working on my 2 computers, set them both up for file and printer sharing, and even pointed out that my wifi network was not secure. He showed me how to name my network and choose a password, and that was a huge relief. When he was walking out, he also noticed that our brand new big screen TV was not tuned in to a high def channel. Apparently we were watching golf on the low def version of channel 2 and, when he changed to the high def version, we practically fell out of our chairs. We've had this TV for 6 months and we thought we were watching hi def all along. Wow, extra credit for the Computer Guy!!! FYI, for those of you with Time Warner, the hi def channels start in the 400s! Thank you Guy for your great work, good humor and professionalism. I've used the Geek Squad and Make it Work before. Both times I had to deal with 20-something year old kids who I quickly felt uncomfortable having in my home. When I bought my new computer this week, I decided to try someone local to set it up. I found the Computer Guy here on Yelp, read his reviews, and decided to give him a try. As others have already stated, Guy is very professional and he knows what he's talking about. He was very thorough in describing what needed to be done,specificallymaking sure I had the correct versions of Quick Books and Microsoft Outlook for my home business. I told him about my older printer and if it could be set up with the newcomputer. He said it would be no problem and he arrived with the current printer software ready to install. A couple hours later, all my data was transferred, Quick Books and Outlook were set up again, and my printer was ready to go. I sat in my chair and my new computer was everything I wanted it to be! Guy showed me some of the differences between Windows 7 and my older PC, and I was able to find all my information very easily. Wow, what a pleasure for a business to actually offer honest, customer service!!! My husband and I, both highly recommend Guy Quinn for your computer repair needs. We first called Guy for a slow computer problem about six years ago. He responded quickly, was professional, honest and cleaned up all the problems with spyware etc. The second time we called Guy was because our computer took a fall off the desk and we were not able to access any programs, including all our precious photos. Guy was able to recover most, if not all our photos for us. He was also very knowledgeable in offering us advice for shopping for our new computer. Most recently, we purchased a new computer and again called Guy to help set it up and transfer our files. Upon setting it up, it took some getting use too, and a after a few uses I realized I HATED WINDOWS 8.....ugh.... but Guy again came to the rescue. I recently had the pleasure of working with the Computer Guy, and I can't recommend him enough. I had a bit of a tech mess on my hands--my old laptop was over 10 years old and Windows 10 support was ending. I had purchased a new laptop two years ago but misplaced it (turns out it was buried under stacks of magazines I was finally cleaning out!). I used The Computer Guy again today. Fixed the issues I had on an older computer yet again. Many of my friends as well as my wife work for larger business's even corporations, where there is an IT guy or even an IT Department. For a small business owner like myself, who manufactures automotive parts, the computer is an often overlooked, yet necessary part of the business. We can manufacture parts but if our computer is not working, we can't Invoice and ship product. I have used Guy Quinn, The Computer Guy for several years now and he is knowledgeable, professional and has always been able to get us up and running quickly. Him being friendly as well is a bonus, as I ask many a question, as we use the computer daily but don't know all the technical stuff that the computer does.........just know we need it to Invoice and get paid. I needed to gain access to some files that were on an older laptop which, for the longest time, was stuck in the perpetual Windows 10 repair/diagnostic loop. This was a frustrating experience and I gave up trying to tackle it on my own. after searching Google and Yelp, and after reading the stellar reviews, I reached out to Guy. He answered the call right away as he was traveling to another appointment. After describing my core issue(s) over the phone, he ran through some possible options as far as troubleshooting/repair and quoted me a price. He estimated that it would take a day or two. Later that same day, we coordinated a time for the hand-off of the equipment. Several hours later, he shared a progress update and literally by the next morning, he indicated that the job was done. I have been using Guy the computer repair man for years now and have found he was always able to fix any problems I was having with my computer. He not only fixes problems but always adds some extras to help make my computer operate more efficiently. He is always honest and up front about repair costs and very helpful in advising you when you want to up grade or change your system. I have found that he is readily available time wise and shows up on time and as soon as he has free time to do my repair work which has never been longer then a day or two. We bought a new printer a few months ago and began having problems with it, as well as a few items on our computers. Guy came on time, was very personable and knowledgeable and explained what was wrong and how he was going to fix it. He determined that the problem was the wifi in the printer (which I never would have figured out) and proceeded to make a bridge between my wife's computer and mine to resolve the issue. We also discussed some other computer-related issues which helped in making some decisions to upgrade or buy a new one. We were very satisfied with his work and will definitely be calling him again....and again. After months of computer meltdowns, I called Computer Guy. Guy gave me fee estimates and a same-day 1 hour window for arrival and was here promptly. He listened, got my computer to start, did some diagnostic work, explaining everything so I could easily understand, and suddenly my computer crashed...again! His first suggestion was to call the manufacturer since I had a warranty, that it was a hardware issue. I asked to pay for the hour he was here, but he said he wouldn't accept anything if he couldn't help me. If I could give Guy 10 stars, I would. He's honest, on time, explains everything he does, his fees are very reasonable, and a truly nice man! And it turns out he was right! Guy greeted me with a smile and a handshake, explained very clearly to me what he was going to do, why he was doing the things he was, and, at the end, all the changes that had been made, and how they work. In these times it is hard to find knowledgeable and detailed technical people. Guy is a delight to work with. I was having trouble getting into my files, after an update on my computer. I contacted Guy, advised him of my situation and we met that day so he could start working on my computer. Two days later (which is very reasonable, if your as good as he is, he has other computers to work on) he came to my house, started the computer up and I ran a couple of programs to make sure all the files loaded into the several programs I have (QuickBooks, tax programs and Office Suite). My laptop crashed and I had a lot of very important files that I had stupidly not backed up. I had used Guy once before when I was working for a local company and was very impressed with him, so I happened to keep his card. Thank goodness! He came over right away and was courteous and professional and incredibly helpful. He definitely knows his stuff and doesn't try to upsell his customers. Guy Quinn is the "Guy" when it comes to computers. He came to my house to set up my new laptop, on a Sunday to boot. Not only did he get my laptop up and functioning but he explained every step he was going through. I am not a computer person by any means so this was extremely helpful. Thank goodness for The Computer Guy! My laptop was having some issues, but he was leaving for a weekend trip and couldn't look at it for a couple of days.
