I said okay, let's see what it got against the love-to-hate Kinkos. Here's what I wanted... I had a USB jump-flash-disk drive. On it was a document (PDF) spanning a whole 2 pages. I needed it print and was going to go to Kinko's after finishing work at a client (and no, I couldn't print there as it was personal and not related to work). But I was walking to Chickpea for lunch and come across this little storefront. I thought, "great, I can get it done now and not drive to Kinko's afterwards (even though it was on my way, I hate parking around there in rush hour). I go in. It has a nice hanging sign instead of a wall. Except the sign was only half the width of the store, so you still could see the back. The interior isn't really much to write about. Its spartan, couple of sad looking copiers. I go in, and someone comes and asks me what I need done. I ask if they would be able to print my PDF document. Couple pages. Regular paper size. Black & White. She confirmed and went to ask in the back. A couple of minutes later, and she tells me the cost. $5. Yep. Five bucks for a couple of pages. I left. Kinko charges $0.10 per copy! Seriously. And Kinko's has a machine that reads your USB along with your CC so you can view the PDF at the copier. I don't know what they are thinking, but all she needed to do was plug it in her computer and hit print. It shouldn't be five bucks. It shouldn't even be a buck! I would give it one star, but I don't know how their prices compare to banners and other projects, which supposedly they specialize. Shop around before setting on this place.

Hired Twizted Home Entertainment through Thumbtack. I thought the team was generally good to work…read morewith while the install was happening, albeit a few issues here and there. However, later found out that there was substantial damage done to one of the speakers I had installed (MSRP $999/each). I reached out to the owner and was told there was no way their team could've caused that damage and to return my products to the vendor. Pictures show this is clearly not an issue from use, as the driver is pretty much shoved in on one side. Notwithstanding, some of the work was not performed as initially discussed (i.e. ethernet cables to cameras were run outside instead of through soffits/attics), and the team was quick to make holes in the ceilings and walls (which ended up being in the wrong places). Given how things have shaken out, I cannot recommend this company for any work. Let the work speak for itself in the photos and see the other reviews online regarding damage. The free work Ron mentioned is shown below with the one ethernet cable hanging from the side of the house. I paid in full afterwards, so if I had high expectations or demands that were "met," I think the highest expectation I had was for them not to damage the very thing they're installing. I actually have texts from Mo partway into the installation where he essentially told me to install things myself because he thought they were too valuable for him to install (which was part of the services I hired them for). Also beware of some of the other positive reviews, as one just popped up that of course mentions "no holes" for similar set up and the initials match one of the employees on Yelp (Mo N.), but on Google and Thumbtack it shows two different names altogether for the same review. Seems like they're padding the reviews and photos so you won't see the work they did at my home.... They're also now threatening me via text to stop updating my reviews for calling them out. There's been a handful of 5 star reviews in the last 24 hours after posting my review used some old photos from their Thumbtack and website (which they removed and replaced).

Not too thrilled with my Zeaport experience so far…read more I wanted to buy a copier/printer for a small business that works with schools. It was going to replace a hp 11x17 that had been a workhorse (over 400,00 prints) but had finally died. Xerox machine was delivered. The invoice stated that it was a better model than it actually was. Turned the thing on and it copied fine. In the upcoming days I couldn't get it to scan to my computer no matter how hard I tried. The suggestion was to read the manual and set it up. I wonder why I didn't try that in the first place. A week or two after getting the printer, there was a big yellow bar that started printing on the side of the page. Looks like errant toner. I emailed and was told to swap around the drums. That didn't fix things. Next, the printer would randomly chunk a bunch of black toner all over the back side of pages...in addition to the yellow on the front. The solution from Zeaport was to get new toner and pull some cleaner levers. By this point I'm fairly frustrated that Zeaport doesn't care enough to follow up on their sale. After two weeks away without using the printer and two new toner cartridges this thing is printing horribly. Now I'm asked to pay $150 for someone to come look at this 'technician refurbished' machine that has only made a couple hundred prints and has problems immediately after delivery. Maybe this is the way that they get people to buy maintenance contracts. I didn't a 'technician certified refurbished' machine would be a P.O.S. right away. I'll update this after the technician takes a look at this and gives me an update. For now I'd tell anyone to avoid buying from Zeaport or to get a solid warranty or expectation of quality for the machine you get. At a minimum this equipment should work for 60-90 days without falling apart.

This is a solid family-run business, and they are the essence of going above and beyond. After the heavy storms last weekend, our printer conked out (that's a technical term!). We had purchased an annual maintenance/service agreement in addition to the printer itself, and it really came in handy. I rang Nicole, the owner, and she herself came to see what was up with our unit. It took a day but it is now up and running, no charge of course, and she even worked with our IT department (located in NY) to get everything set up and reconfigured. Going above and beyond. And, advice: choose the service agreement... it is a reasonable price to pay for less headaches. Excellent customer service and solid technical knowledge. Highly recommended.

He actually found a better file version of the print and made sure I knew every detail. His pricing was more than fair! Because I live around Chicago I coordinated a local pickup and David made it simple. I always wanted to get into 3D printing but didn't want to pay the up front expense, deal with user errors, etc. 3D print Chicago eliminates all my concerns and I can enjoy the wonderful creative world of printing with a professional to handle the project.
