I got some fresh air outside at LAX, and returned through security, helping a man behind me who had several toddlers and several bins, and that's where i lost my driver's license! Despite calling LAX security and lost and found numerous times, I never got my driver's license back. This was in the "old days" and on arrival at Kauai, I went to the rental car place and my county courthouse in Madison County Alabama faxed some documentation to the rental car company in Kauai and fortunately I was able to get a rental car that way!

Came here a bit early to had a chance to take more pictures and check out more of the airport. -- the rental car building is very close to the terminal and consists of the major vendors (Hertz, Avis, Budget, Thrifty, Dollar) -- no jet bridges, so all planes use portable ramps to get passengers on/off -- free wi-fi worked well and didn't require any PII to be entered -- filtered water dispensers are throughout, allowing one to fill their reusable water bottles. -- no airport lounges here -- there is a dedicated TSA line when entering the secure area -- there are two bus stops. the more usable one (going to downtown Long Beach) is on the other side of parking, past the taxi stands. -- is definitely very convenient for folks who fly Southwest

The flow: get dropped off, bag check is right there, security immediately after, IMMEDIATELY after the gates are all lined up. The line moves generally very fast. I think the longest I've waited in line is still under 10 minutes to get past security. The fastest til it's my turn to go through has been 30 seconds, if that. Speed and efficiency are the hallmarks. They have enough eateries to choose from as little shops as well for snacks magazines etc. My one con here is that I think they only have airline specific lounges. Would love if they had at least a priority lounge here. But I think it's a relatively smaller airport so I won't fault them too hard here. I mean again I barely wait in the security line so there probably isn't enough foot traffic to justify a priority lounge.

Jones coffee and Starbucks. Boarder grill, Diane's farm table, and Guy Fieri's flavor town are some restaurants listed. Shopping includes Burbank's own Tansey's, and shop that has some Burbank, Disney, and WB merch (the prices are kind of ridiculous for some of the stuff. For example there was a dog hat at Tansey's that was $27. Like a little ball cap. Bathroom are plentiful, and each stall is very roomy. There are vending machines with medicines, drinks, snacks, and electronics down around Gates 10/11. In the self checkout area, there are now scales to weigh your luggage that you'll be checking, and also a face identification. These are plentiful in front of each airline 14 gates. 3 baggage carousels There is a separate ride share pick up just across the departure/arrival lanes.

The airport is actually replacing the current terminal soon, and the new facility will move baggage claim indoors. Andddd...OLD SCHOOL is definitely the description for the current facility. It's dated and looks every bit of its age. Nothing about it feels modern or luxurious, but everything functions and I'll take efficient over pretty when I'm trying to catch a flight. Food is where BUR could definitely do better. There are some restaurants and grab and go options in both terminals, but compared with larger airports the selection is pretty limited, especially depending on which terminal you're flying from. But honestly, I understand why people love this airport. It's compact, low stress, and you're not spending 30 minutes just trying to figure out how to get from security to your gate. Dated? Absolutely. Limited food? Yep. But the sheer convenience of BUR makes up for A LOT.

Always knew they had this but never been, so happy we went today. They have planes, helicopters, police cars and trucks, so many cool planes to check out. You can take photos in some of them which is really cool. It was sort of busy and hot so we didn't wait in the lines to do that but. They also have vendors giving out free things, they have an area in the back with the older planes they sell toys and things they also have a food truck. Baby girl got a free Outter pop so nice of them thank you so much, everyone was so friendly and had smiles even though it was hot. Great place to go for a bit bring kids your family and friends. Loved it would def go again, thank you so much for the wonderful experience and seeing all the beautiful planes and aircrafts. Loved it we had a great time. This general aviation airport, naturally long favorite of celebrities & biz heads, had its share of public scrutiny just like many other non commercial airports in California. Like my San Carlos Airport SQL or Palo Alto Airport PAO. Historic significance lays in the fact that famous DC-3 & military aircraft was produced by Douglas Aircraft Co in Santa Monica at the airport before it had moved to Long Beach. Famous tenants like Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise & Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with others, average daily 250 takeoffs & landings, that's a lot of noise! Neighbors in Santa Monica didn't want harmful exhaust, emissions, fueling, lead & carbon, pollution, and noise! At the same time, its use during WWII for military purposes had federal agreements for FAA to allow operations. So various aviation interests contended with the City of Santa Monica over its ownership. They reached the agreement after endless litigation to return the control of the airport land to the city. Met with Oliver and Jorge and they gave me all of the information I needed to begin my journey into aviation. Prices are very reasonable and the school is going through lots of positive changes. I was also impressed with how many of the staff members are bilingual. 非常好 Great fleet of airplanes to learn from: Cirrus, Cessna, and SportCruisers.
