Like a giant seafood market and nothing else, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a variety of items. I think it's Filipino food items primarily? But a lot of really cool products and ingredients that I don't normally see. I stopped by just to pick up some veggies, but ended up leaving with ube condensed milk and a few other random necessities as I was browsing the isles. Their seafood section also does free deep frying for fish! Which haven't done in a really long time and will probably stop by for in the future! Lots of parking, but as it is a shared plaza with a couple of other busy stores, I'm sure it can be a struggle to find a spot on the weekends during peak hours.

Pampanga Bakery has a physical location on Artesia & Norwalk, but also supply some of their fresh pan de sal & more, to Fresh Catch to sell. As an Asian supermarket, it fills the need. And, a lucky Lotto millionaire was made here, several years ago. I'll continue to visit for buying live crab & Pampanga Bakery items, and maybe, just maybe, I shall also become a lucky Lotto millionaire.

I didn't purchase those prepared selections this trip but have in the past. I recommend if you're a fan or curious of Filipino food, try Island Pacific. It's near a lot of good food places, isn't overpriced, and everyone there is warm and welcoming. I'll be back soon!

I regularly visit many stores with my fur babies safely secured in their stroller and have never had an issue. Unfortunately, this store would not allow it, which was both surprising and disappointing. As a result, they have lost a loyal customer. Customer service and consistency matter, and sadly this experience fell far below my expectations. If zero star is an option, that's what I would give this store.

By the time I recognized that big supermarket chains specializing in Far East Asian foods had…read morebecome a thing, H-Marts was the de facto place that my family went to (because I always needed my kimchi and soybean sprouts). Yeah, we went to quite a few Japanese super centers (mostly Mitsuwa) when we could (mainly because my young daughter was so into Japanese popular culture back then), and was impressed at how clean they were and polite the workers seemed. But they never had the range of products that we needed and prices ranged high. I mention this because we never really had any reason to go to a Chinese supermarket. So 99 Ranch has never been really been on our radar, even though the signs are prevalent in the areas that we visit. 99 Ranch was founded in 1984 in Westminster, CA by Taiwanese immigrants. Tawa Supermarket is the parent company (still controlled by the founding family), and also owns 168 market (a smaller grocery chain specializing in Taiwanese foods). The parent company is also involved in the manufacturing and distributing of house brands. There are sixty-six 99 ranch markets across the country. They didn't have the large selection of fresh Korean products like Kimchi, various home-made banchans, and such (since it's not a Korean supermarket). But on a simple thing like medium-grade rice, it was a great selection with many, many choices. For example, 15 lb bag of rice ranging from Kokuho Rice to Kokuho Rose to Kokuho Rose Heirloom. As for popular meat cuts (for things like hot pot), the meat quality seemed better (Waygu was common) for cheaper prices than the Korean competitors. They had a large seafood area (though nothing as big as what you would find in nearby Vietnamese supermarkets). They provide free cooking (frying/steaming) services, along with the standard cleaning services on fish purchased. There really wasn't anything negative that bugs me when shopping at a H-Mart: aisles filled with stocking carts making it difficult to pass, customers who think they have the entire right of way with their carts, high prices on things not on sale, and workers who aren't particularly friendly. So will still need to go to H-Mart for bottled kimchi and certain marinated meats (and of course my soybean sprouts), but it's nice to have more choices.
