Therapy should be at the base of a mental health office however it was not provided, only medications from a Nurse Practitioner who lacked in therapeutic skills. Possibly an LCSW or LMHC ( who I was denied to speak with) who work there are competent to provide therapy and actually work with people who need help (after all that is the reason for going there right?) however a Nurse is not nor are they properly trained to do anything but prescribe certain medications. However, depending on who you see, your experience of course may be different as I can only speak for myself.

She discusses all medication options with me and allows me to make an informed decision - she doesn't just write a script and send you on your way. She explains all the pertinent side effects of whatever she is prescribing but also explains how she expects it to help you. Wait time is about 15-30 minutes, which is normal. Her assistant, Pam, is an absolutely wonderful person to talk to if you need to get in touch with the doctor right away. She has a great demeanor and you can tell she thoroughly enjoys her job.
