With the pain came opiate medication and a corresponding new addiction. I was unable to work in the field I went to college and graduate school for. I had stopped doing all the the things that brought me joy. I spent probably 95% of my life in my room. Naomi greeted me without a hint of judgement. At the time, I couldn't even imagine being happy. I had made the professional work I did my identity, and that was gone. Today I'm engaged in my life again. I do fun stuff. I like myself a little more And I haven't had drink in 4 years. I wouldn't be here without Naomi. She treated me with kindness and acceptance. I've always felt supported and heard. I am better off and still improving. I credit Dr. Jacobs's guidance as a major role in my sobriety and my continuing hope for a better future.

She rushed me into seeing the psych without getting my paperwork so the psych had no idea why I was there and looked at me crazy when I didn't know how to respond to her very vague "why are you here?". Obviously I'm here for medication? You would know why if there was paperwork to review. This was SUCH a strange experience, truly.

I've been seeing Dr. Madkaiker for 4 or 5 years now, since my last psychiatrist retired. I saw a…read morecouple of other psychiatrists before I found Dr. Madkaiker and when I saw him for my first visit, I knew he was the doctor for me. Like most psychiatrists, appointments are not very long. They are not therapists; they are there to manage your medications. Dr. Madkaiker has been very good to me. When I first started seeing him, I had been on the same medications for many years and they had been working great. He listened to me and actually believed me and that I knew about my body and he kept me on the same meds. Many other new doctors want to start changing meds around. I'm of the mindset of "if it's not broke, don't fix it." When I had cancer and had to have a kidney removed, I had no choice but to finally get off one medication that was helping me the most because it would have interfered with my kidney function and I only have the one left. He took me down off that medication and then introduced a new medication. The new medication he chose doesn't work quite as well as the other one (but we knew it wouldn't), but it does work pretty darn well. He always listens at each visit and he makes suggestions and allows me to choose my treatment with him. It really makes me feel like I have a say in what is happening with my mind and body. Telehealth appointments! Yes! I'm all about those! His front office staff is phenomenal! Tommy works the front office and I absolutely love him! He's usually the one who calls me and I'm always thrilled when he answers the phone! I like the other people in the front office too, but I just feel Tommy has made a point to get to know me and I enjoy talking with him. I love the fact that after Telehealth appointments, they always call me within half an hour or so to make my next appointment. Major points for that because I would totally forget! If you are in need of a psychiatrist, I highly recommend Dr. Madkaiker. I've been seeing shrinks since 1987 and he is one of the best I have ever seen!! Wheelchair and service dog friendly!

I am a mental health counselor in Florida and Georgia with much experience working with many different professionals in the area of mental health and I find Soufayne Bourass to be among the best in this field. He is incredibly compassionate, thorough and knowledgeable in all areas of diagnosis and treatment. He also listens actively, giving the patient space to work through challenges while offering helpful insights with great empathy. He is always very flexible and willing to accommodate patients during crisis while also helping them develop skill sets that allow for more independent self regulation in the future. Hello, I wanted to…read moreshare my personal experience with Soufyane Bourass, Elite Psychiatry Specialist which is located at 12724 Gran Bay Pkwy Suite Suite 410, Jacksonville, FL 32258. This company, specifically the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Soufyane Bourass, does not offer the level of care that one should expect from a healthcare provider. I had originally scheduled my appointment for 8:45am EST on 05/28/24 and Bourass called me the day before and asked me to come in at 8:00am EST instead. I drove 120 miles and arrived for the appointment at 7:50am EST; however, Bourass did not show up until 45 minutes later. The recepionist didn't even show up till 8:30am. It was very disrespectful to me and there was no apology nor compensation for my time. If I was late, there would have been an additional charge. To make matters worse, the total charge amount for a new patient is $347.62. None of which was covered by United Healthcare. I tried to resolve the billing issue through email with Bourass but he stated there was no issue and this is the way his company bills patients. He doesn't seem to understand the severity of this financial issue. I will not be returning to Soufyane Bourass or any member of Elite Psychiatry Specialist again. I advise anyone that's thinking of using the services of Elite Psychiatry Specialist to please do your research first so you can avoid a waste of time and energy. I hope this review helps. --William
