I did something to my neck and scheduled an appointment for the Deep tissue/Trigger point therapy…read moredue to intense pain. I had been to this place before and I believe I saw Heather then, but this time I saw Samantha because she was the first available and I was in a lot of pain! Samantha was great and was able to apply a solid amount of pressure the entire 60 minutes. I ended up having many more spots in my back that desperately needed attention so the hour was definitely worth it. Now, deep tissue massages can be intense depending on the amount of pressure needed or wanted. There were definitely some spots that were rough but the immense pressure was needed to break apart the nasty knots in my neck and shoulders. She put a lot of focus on the knots that were the worst of the bunch, and I didn't even have to tell her where exactly the pain was coming from because she easily found them. The amount of pressure is up to you, I just wanted as much as possible because the pain in my neck was bad enough. If you need as deep of a massage as I did, I highly recommend Samantha. Obviously she can be gentle too, but I feel like it takes a lot of strength to apply consistent pressure for a full hour. I went into there barely able to move my shoulders and neck, and left there much more relaxed and comfortable. The pain in my neck was so severe that I didn't think she would be able to get rid of it completely but she absolutely did! They have much gentler options for a more relaxed experience and both ladies did a wonderful job knowing what my body needed. It's a small suite in a row of businesses by Central ave but it is very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Also very clean and I can tell they take a lot of care making sure their clients are comfortable. I definitely recommend this place. Thank you guys so much for helping me! I called up a good friend in Astoria, NY who is in school for chinese medicine in the city. After scanning a few places she suggested Xuguang Gao based on his credentials and technique. That said I felt pretty confident going since it was my first time. My confidence level sky rocketed when i got the most comprehensive investigation into my medical history ever. Gao was very patient and really gave a thorough lecture on the process and philosophy behind acupuncture. The office was clean and the staff was very friendly. I left feeling relaxed and scheduled more sessions. My only problem is it is pretty pricy for me ($80 first session, $60 there after). They suggest going at least twice a week initially for the procedure to truly be effective. This is standard. They take OSU prime care so that might help some locals out. I found it to be so effective I'd sell my soul for some more.

I mentioned some of my issues to Nancy and she had me lay down and inserted the acupuncture needles in different parts of my body. She told to lay still and she'll be back in half an hour. She said it'd be best if I could go to sleep. I tried closing my eyes and relaxing. Idk if it was the new environment, but I was a little anxious and just kept looking at my watch. That's on me. It was closer to an hour when she returned. At that point I was just anxious to get the needles out and leave. In hindsight: the first half an hour was pretty relaxing. the warmth from light was nice and I even told her it feels similar to a hot stone massage. Nancy suggested I come back for treatment once a week. I'm planning to do a couple more visits since I've read such good things about Nancy. P.S the needles don't hurt. The initial prick might sting just a little but after that it's all good.
