We recently purchased a new split twin king size bed and frame which was delivered this past Thursday. The buying experience was extremely pleasurable with no pressure from our salesman, Jesse Shannon. He allowed us "alone" time with an assortment of the mattresses we were interested in. He also gave us a nice discount on the frame and explained the warranty and their return policy on bedding thoroughly. The mattress was delivered on time and professionally by 3 experienced employees. They were polite, very clean and quickly had our new bed in place. They asked if we had any concerns or general questions about the new set up and were out in less than 45 minutes. This company was invented pinnacle of good taste and it represented history. Then of course it was…read moresold to an over seas corporation. At that time they attempted to integrate new things. They decimated the core line and tried to reimagine it. They failed. Not so much because they didn't have nice things but because they started lying to their sales people. This trickled down to the interior designers and ultimately landed at the feet of the irritated end user. This company was once a company that maintained the loyalty of staff for 30-40 years. Now it's just a revolving door of 20 Roberto dentist have no clue about much of anything. Anybody can read a status report and then think of reasons why the items you were promised cannot be had in a timely fashion. But above all of that..... Even when the company migrated to their current showroom they had nice things. They were still introducing great product. I've been away from the South Florida market for a while. I visited recently and left with the wind taken out of my lungs. The showroom looks terrible. The merchandise is uninspired. The groupings are severely lacking any form or substance. Anybody that currently works there should be ashamed of themselves. It's bad enough that this institution has fallen so far but to allow the showroom to look so unkempt is a crime. I have no doubt whatsoever that Baker is in its final year. How could it not be and allow one of their largest showrooms to look so slapped together. Jesus Christ. It looks like a strong wind came through, snatched all of the accessories and art and just left about 200 chairs haphazardly thrown about. If this company still has a visual team (and I can't imagine that they do) fire them all immediately and grab anybody and I do mean anybody off the street to come in and stage. A homeless person would likely have more drive and creativity. BJT. RIP.
