Between flooding the underside of our home due to not properly backfilling (pictured below) to installing a grinder pump on a bathroom and kitchen and it failing evey six months... they went from promising us the grinder is strong enough to grind anything and everything to today where they said, and I quote, "you shouldn't flush even toilet paper down those pumps and instead throw the toilet paper in a trash can". They screen my call, my husbands calls, and even the guys they sent to "fix" the problem. It's a mess, unprofessional, and costing us thousands of dollars to fix.

Turns out, the warranty was NOT in effect because... refer back to my first paragraph. Now we had a problem to fix. Spoke to the buyers' agent and turns out, MBR was her trusted company too! Will came out was able to offer a warranty on the previous work. Having someone we BOTH trusted was absolutely essential to keeping this deal together. On Monday, June 15 they came out to meet me and the realtor at the vacant house that I would be purchasing within a couple of days. I asked the technician for a couple of estimates and to al find out where the water shut off valve is located. While I was inside the house meeting with the pest control company the technician came in and asked if he could show me something. We went outside and he explained that the water shut off valve broke off when he shut off the water. He acted confused and asked what he was supposed to do indicating that he thought I should pay for them to repair their mistake. I said he needed to fix what he broke and I wasn't even the owner of the house yet and that I did not ask him to shut off the water but only to simply find where it was located. The technician went on to say that if I was going to order work on other items that they would deduct the price from the estimates of other items that I was considering. I said again this was not my problem and that they had to fix what they broke because I was not even the owner of the house yet. He then said he had to go call his boss and then he spent a long time in the car on the phone while I was waiting. We then contacted the company ourselves and explain the issue and they said they would fix it. The technician came back inside and said he couldn't fix it at that time and would have to come back. He also emailed me estimates for some of the other items I was considering. The prices that they quoted to me were absolutely ridiculous. For example for them just to install a water softener that I would go to Home Depot and purchase was $1650. Installation for a tankless hot water heater was close to $5000. When I asked him to figure out why the gas fireplace wouldn't ignite or why the Jets in the tub would not work he barely spent any time figuring that out and said they would have to come back. Based upon my experience with this company and the fact that they did not want to take responsibility for what he did which is break some thing that they were looking at an acted like I had to pay for it I would never use them. In fact please do not use this company if this is the kind of work they do. Totally incompetent and they did not want to take responsibility for their screw up. Just awful. Stay away. Update 6/28/20: The owner of the business contacted me and asked me to remove this review because they fixed the problem. I do not believe in doing that and I believe what I am seeing is truthful. Just because he fix the problem doesn't change the history of what happened. I needed a professional assessment of my foundation in order to know how to fix it. Highland was highly recommended on yelp so I went with them based on their reviews. I have a graduate degree in Construction Science and Minor in Architecture, so i'm not unfamiliar with foundations, and construction and issues with houses, but by no means an expert engineer nor a foundation expert. But I do have extensive experience with contractors, engineers, and home builders. I was thoroughly impressed with this company and their professionalism from the very start. They are clean cut, professional, and organized. They are responsive to customers needs, and thoughtful and knowledgeable to all questions that I had. They do a thorough job, and would highly recommend them for any service that they provide (especially foundation inspections). They put together a great plan for my house to install piers, and worked with me extensively on issues and questions throughout the process. 5 stars. Matt (the owner) personally visited my house multiple times to review issues as they came up during this process showing a dedication to his company and his customers that you rarely see in this business. It is now July 2025 and I have never received my report. I've emailed and texted. I've actually spoken to him twice and was assured my report was forthcoming. The last time I heard from him he said he was returning my fee, which he actually did. Still no report. I'm disappointed in Matt. I expected better. I don't know what's going on, but I'm assuming this company is in trouble. Sad.

The sales guy, Kyle, was very professional, knew his products and services, and answered all of my questions well. We had the roof scheduled for a Thursday. As the day got closer, there was a 30% chance of rain in the forecast. Not wanting to chance it, I asked to move the date. They rescheduled for the next Thursday with no problem. It then forecasted rain...for the next 5 consecutive reschedule dates we had. Each time, for over 2 months, Aspenmark rescheduled our date, by my request, with no questions. Some of those dates were rainouts, some of them were me being paranoid about rain. No problems. I really appreciated that. I contacted Kyle on weekends, during the week, after 5 pm, early in the morning...it didn't matter. I always got a text or call back immediately. VERY good communication. When they actually did the job? It was done in 6 hours. Much faster than other houses in our area, which sometimes took two or three days. The roof looks great, and it was done very well. Now, here's where I'm leery about the industry in general, and Aspenmark was no different. If you're getting your roof done, watch for this. Get multiple bids from at least 3 companies. Then, watch as they give you one price, then call you back a couple days later and say, "Oops! I forgot to add _____ price in the quote." "Oh sorry. I forgot to correctly calculate your square footage. It's going to be $_______ more money." This seems commonplace, and I'm not sure why they're all doing that. Seems to me that it's how the sales person adds in their commission after they've baited you with the initial price. I can't prove that, but all of the companies I got quotes from did it. Aspenmark was no different. That's why I took away the 5th star for this review. Accurate, upfront pricing is what I expected, and it's shady how this industry can't seem to get that right. But, I will also say that Aspenmark was the only company to increase the price overall, and then give me discounts on some materials to bring my out-of-pocket expense back down to pretty close to the original quote.

You see, the reason I can't speak in length about the company is because even after I signed the contract to have work done, they did not fulfill the contract and do the work! I will try to make this long story as short as possible. I received a bid from Tom for improving ventilation. I received a bid from another company for the same work. Tom's bid was $1,200 higher than the other company, but Tom's bid specified putting in larger attic fans. Okay, that sounded good to us. The larger fans explained the higher amount over the other company's bid. Tom said they would start work the following Wednesday, weather permitting. The Monday before the scheduled Wednesday Tom called to say he did not add in the extra cost of the fans, which was $900, and that it would mean he'd have to pay OUT OF HIS POCKET for the difference, adding, "BUT IF YOU'RE OKAY WITH THAT!" I thought, "what the heck," because how could he now be wanting to add $900 to the total when he was already $1,200 over the other bid?? So I said I was okay with it coming out of his pocket if that was necessary, because we were not going to pay more on our end, and I reminded him that I had already signed the contract that he had sent me. He went on to say that they probably would end up just not being able to do the work. Again, I had signed and returned the signed contract to him, and we were scheduled to begin said work in just two days (and now he's asking for more money????) $900 more would put his bid over $2,100 over the other company, which just did not make any sense. I think what bothers me most about all this was his total unprofessionalism over the phone. Twice he said, loudly, "I'M GOING TO HAVE TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE FROM MY OWN POCKET, BUT IF YOU'RE OKAY WITH THAT!" Two days after this I spoke with a lady named Paula Felix about Tom and she claimed I had not signed all the papers of the contract. Tom had emailed me two papers, and he said to sign the "two papers" and get them back to him, which I did. But Paula said there were more papers I should have signed, and she was sorry, but they were not taking on any small jobs at the moment, and so they would not be able to do the contracted work for me. Paula was very polite, which I appreciated, and she even apologized, which I appreciated, and said she hoped this poor experience with Tom did not leave a bad feeling in me towards their company. I said how could it not? Because though I had signed a contract they would not honor it. (Where is there any honor or integrity anymore?) Maybe the company is outstanding in the work they do, but at the end of the day a company is only as good as their WORD. Aspenmark did not honor their word, despite it being written down in a contract and despite my having signed it.

Leaving ads after passing two "No Soliciting" signs is still soliciting. It shows a blatant disregard for a homeowner's posted wishes. This is unacceptable. If a company can't respect a simple "No Soliciting" sign, why would you trust them to act ethically while working on your home? In my opinion, stay away from Apex Premier Roofing. I will not do business with them, and I've asked to be removed from their contact list. Companies should train their staff to read and follow signs. This experience tells me Apex Premier Roofing did not.

I recently received a water bill that was 4x the prior month, with not add'l water usage. I called CPS and the very next day they sent Luke and Jared out to test for leaks. The guys could have jumped straight into a more expense test with the main box, but instead they were methodically, went water device by water device (ie, sinks, faucets, washing machine, each toilet to see if any of those were leaking - also finding the fittings to my toilets were original to the 1983 house (which I had them replace - for a reasonable price). The last test proved (we hope - haven't' received a bill yet) was a leaky toilet. Yet they went ahead and then tested the main controller, first the house then the irrigation system. Fortunately, no pressure change - so all was good (whew!). Best of all Luke explained all the way through what he was doing and spoke in a way I could understand what he was doing.
