I am very happy and receiving excellent therapy support from my therapist. I have been to other…read morecounseling centers and though they helped me, they were not as supportive as Cypress. I've had 3 traumatic events in my lifetime and the most recent was from surgery at U of M Hospital, this surgery was in 2/2025. Knowing from previous traumatic experiences I was going down the dark hole of depression, so I moved quickly to get back in therapy. I have been with my therapist since April 2025, and due to my depression I chose to do virtual appointments, but since I am better I will meet her in her office for the first time next week. I'm very excited. Getting therapy can be very positive if you have the right therapist for your situation. What I have learned is if you DO NOT have a connection with therapist, then you need to change until you feel you have found the right therapist. Good luck!

While some of the providers here administer helpful practice methodologies the practice as a whole…read moreis wrought with anxiety. The director is focused on profits and maximizing the number of clients not the quality of care. This puts most of the providers in a position of taking on many clients and seeing them without focused thorough care due to their own anxiety. If you find someone here you like, stick with them until they leave because trust me they eventually will. Although you may have a relationship with your provider the director believes you are $$ that he is entitled to from marketing so you may have to insist on keeping your therapist when they leave. The leadership here is legal but not ethical. Be well and be persistent. Also note the culture is mono- they dont explicitly shun people but are covertly ableist, racists and sexist.

Although this building recently switched locations, I've been seeing a therapist apart of this…read morestaff for almost 5 years. She's watched me grow from an angsty teen, to a slightly less angsty young adult, as well as grow in height. She's helped me with many tough life situations including my anxiety and depression, to very small day to day situations where I had trouble making decisions. I was never judged or made fun of, and she always kept a professional attitude, while also giving me the hard facts that I need to hear. She recently moved to private practice, so I will be meeting with a new therapist soon within this staff. I plan to stay here because of the kind treatment, and accommodating appointment times. That 1 star review seems to be an anomaly because every person (and dog) I've encountered at Perspectives Therapy has been nothing but amazing to me.

Five-star review for nursing assistant Dawn M…read more Dawn formed such a special bond with my mom during her care. Even when she wasn't assigned to her, she would make a point to stop in, check on her, and spend time talking with her. She consistently encouraged my mom to push herself in order to get better, always with kindness and compassion. Dawn truly cared for my mom as if she were her own family member. She held her hand during difficult procedures, gently washed her hair at the bedside, and brought moments of laughter and comfort during a very challenging time. She is an incredibly hardworking and dedicated caregiver who goes far beyond expectations. I truly believe she played a significant role in my mom's recovery. Specialty Services is lucky to have someone like Dawn--and so were we.

A mixed bag review for Select Specialty Hospital located in St. Joe's Ypsilanti. This place made…read morelots of promises but delivered on few the first go around but they did much better on the second time we needed to use them. When my dad needed an acute care center to rid him of his trach tube and to help him with his physical therapy beyond what the hospital could do, this place came highly recommended. With a patient/nurse ratio of 2 to 1, we felt that my dad would get the care he needed. We were put on a wait list to get in and after a few days my dad was transferred in. Unfortunately, on the first stay- they really didn't do anything that they said there were going to do so he left exactly the way that he went in. Where was the trach rehab, where was the physical therapy? And why were they pushing him out before anything had been done for him? On his next stay, my dad's health was worse and it was during this stay that I actually thought he got great care . . . .like I expected the on the first go around. One nurse in particular, Georgane, stood out. She was great with my dad, asking about who he was before he was sick, and really taking the time to do what needed to be done with him. She seemed to genuinely care. Also- the social worker who was assigned us was very helpful in the end when we were looking for hospice care. She found a hospice that believed in what we did and it made the transition to home care very easy. This is the newest of the Select Specialty care locations so the rooms are mostly private and the place is clean and new with all amenities like flat screen TV's, decent chairs and large windows. If we hadn't had such a bad go around the first time- this would have been a 4 star review for sure.
