My former company scheduled a cleaning with Complete Cleaner to do a disinfection of an office. We had a case of an unconfirmed COVID-19 exposure and had let our office sit empty for over a week, above and beyond all CDC guidelines. After the week was up, we decided to do a disinfection in the spirit of continuing to go above and beyond guidelines. Getting a cleaner to come in for COVID-19 cleaning was no small task, as everyone was booked and it was impossible to even get bids. We actually had cleaners turn us down because disinfection is unnecessary after leaving the space empty for so long. We managed to get an appointment with Complete Cleaner, then confirmed the appointment the morning of. I waited a half hour past the appointment time for someone to show up. More than 45 minutes after the appointment time, I finally called to figure out if anyone was coming. I was told that Complete Cleaner had decided not to go through with the job. I asked why not, and they said they decided they were too busy to take on new customers - 45 minutes after they should have already been there. When I asked if they had tried to reach out or let anyone know they weren't showing for a confirmed appointment, they said they "were telling me now". Everything about my interaction with them was frustrating and unprofessional. Their failure to follow through or communicate with me was a major disappointment. Luckily, we found a family company based out of Lowell who did an excellent, professional job.
After the fact, I wrote a Yelp review of Complete Cleaner. Despite giving us no notice of his cancellation, Will managed to respond within eight minutes to the negative review, claiming we had lied to him about the job, that we had had recent, confirmed exposure to COVID-19 and people should stay away, etc. It was very disturbing to have him lash out with lies rather than accept honest criticism for his lack of professionalism. The fact that I waited until now, when I am no longer working at my previous company, says a lot about how anxious I was to have any further interaction with such unscrupulous people. I didn't want to cause issues with my company, but I feel compelled to make sure that the behavior of Complete Cleaner doesn't go unchallenged. I cannot review the job they do because their lack of professionalism and their lack of character prevented us from doing business.
