There is no harder task than finding the right place for your loved one. Fortunately, Country Care…read moreis There. The best way to describe it is that this House is home. It is so different from the places I've seen before. It looks like a comfortable, warm, and beautiful home, which is reassuring to the residents. The staff is loving and kind. The staff takes remarkable care of the residents. Also, the food is good, and the schedule revolves around the residents, which is remarkable. And, impeccably clean and has lovely grounds in a beautiful, private area. They get lots of love and attention. There are Caregivers on staff and a wonderful manager, and there are plenty of people working at all times. The staff is careful to answer all my questions, and never act like they are too busy to talk to me. I can't stress enough how special Country Care is. We are so lucky that our loved one can live there and be loved and doted on by the remarkable staff. They have a passion for providing the best possible care for people and for serving their families.

Watch Out. These…read morepeople gave me a caregiver named Shannon Hayes who was unable to connect with my 94 year old mother and could not get her to shower and clean up which is why I hired her in the first place. Every week it was another excuse and another bill. Then she showed up the final time, failed again and the next day I get a visit from Adult Protective Services. The social worker said that there was a complaint about my mom being left alone with no food and only beer and other things that were simply not true. I had to explain (and show) that she gets meals on wheels and has a freezer and cabinets full of the stuff she likes and show the social worker that the details of the complaint were untrue. I decided to leave the social worker alone to talk with my mom so that she could do her job and would know I had nothing to hide. After that and showing her that the report was false after the visit, the social worker closed the case immediately and complimented me on the job that was being done. This only confirms the false claim made by the caregiver. I thought it was pretty sad that my mom was able to connect and talk to the social worker in ways that visiting angels and Shannon were unable to accomplish. SInce who files the report is confidential, I can only surmise it was her because no one else had access to the house and the inside of her refrigerator. But then I called th eoffice and apparently the manager was the one who made the actual call. This is the same manager, Gabriell, who, when I hired Visiting Angels, promised me that if there was ever a concern over mom's welfare that it would be brought to my attention and that no one in their group would make those kind of calls. Had the social worker been unreasonable, the results of this spiteful call could have been devastating. Shannon Hayes and Gabrielle both defied my trust, failed in their job, and filed a false report that resulted in nothing but praise from the visiting caseworker and an apology for having to come out. So my experience is.... Couldn't do the job Did not protect the relationship Violated my trust. Filed a false report My next stop is small claims court. Your next stop should another company.

Since our goal is to remain in our single story townhome as long as possible, I decided to contact a senior agency that provides in-home non-medical care when I was no longer able to do our own housekeeping, knowing we would need additional help as time went on. I contacted Caring Presence. We had an intake and assessment meeting with Laura on 6/19/24. She was very caring and professional. I explained that I would like to have a thorough surface clean every other week and I would maintain between those cleanings and asked her if that would fit their definition of "light housekeeping". She indicated that they could accommodate our request. We discussed scheduling, and I responded that our townhome, which is a little over 1,200 square feet, took approximately 3 hours to clean, but not knowing the skill or speed of the caregiver to be selected, I indicated that I would be willing to pay for a fourth hour if it was needed. At the end of the meeting, she indicated my first scheduled cleaning day was to be Friday, June 28th. Paperwork that she left me included rules and expectations, and I will quote only what is relevant to this review. "You will be required to sign the caregiver's time sheet, which verifies each day and time services were provided." Additionally, I was required to give their agency 24 hour notice if services were not needed, which was very reasonable. On Friday, June 28th when we were prepared for the initial caregiver's visit, I received a call 45 minutes prior to her expected arrival to inform me that a caregiver had not yet been selected for us. Apparently, the 24 hour notice requirement only works one way. The next week, we received a call to inform us that a caregiver had been selected and she would arrive on Friday, July 5th at 9:00 am. Again, 40 minutes prior to expected arrival, I received a call from Caring Presence stating that the caregiver had called in at 1:00 am to report that she had food poisoning. Her visit was rescheduled for 2 weeks later, on July 19. She arrived promptly on the 19th, and we spent a half hour going over what needed to be done. I spoke to her about the 3 hour schedule and the fact I was willing to cover an additional hour if she needed it to do a thorough surface cleaning. She told me she was through just prior to a full 3 hours, and I confirmed with her that I was happy to pay for the full 3 hours. I asked for her time sheet, and she said she didn't have one. She told me I needed to sign on her phone to indicate that she had been there and done her work. There was nothing on the phone but a blank screen with signature line. I signed it. Although paperwork indicates she was not to receive a gratuity, I gave her $20 in cash to mostly offset her expectation that it had a 4th hour scheduled in case it was needed. On the following Monday, I received an email notice that $112 had been debited from my checking account for 4 hours of work at $28 per hour. I called Caring Presence to bring the mistake to their attention and ask for a $28 credit to my account. I also wanted to know where this timesheet was that I was supposed to sign to confirm her hours. I was told I could only speak to a person that was currently on vacation and he would have her call me first thing Friday morning when she returned. I asked to speak to Laura who did our assessment and set up our first schedule. He refused to allow me to do so. I received no call from their office on Friday morning. I hired a cleaning service and provided Caring Presence with a written termination of our Service Agreement via email on Friday afternoon. These Facts are why I could never recommend anyone to use the services of this organization.
