When he was unable to progress they kindly encouraged we consider hospice services. I was in denial but it was the kindest thing to do. The hospice services were also top notch. We had Amber and Christie for most of the time. They ensured he was comfortable and helped me learn how to be the best caregiver I could be and helped me with the hardest part of our lives. Rocky was also incredibly helpful and kind. Last but not least we had Lucy the CNA with both services. She was incredibly kind and patient and Steve felt very comfortable with her. She has a nice 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. I really enjoy going to see her, knowing she is safe and contented there. She's made a number of friends there since she moved in. Meals, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance are all covered in the monthly fee. There are medical professionals helping with the health issues of the residents. I'm writing this today to acknowledge the great efforts of the staff as they protect the residents against the corona virus. Mom told me today in a phone call that they are all staying in their apartments, with meals being brought to them, instead of at the dining room. Will Burke is normally the sales manager. My dad has had to go through a tremendous amount lately: losing his caregivers, losing his home, and on top of that, being relocated. First, the owners of Servants Heart called me personally to interview me about my father, wanting to know about his condition, sensitivities around travel, and issues related to his health and feelings that might affect his transportation experience. By the tone of their voice and attentive carriage of character, I could tell that they cared about my father beyond a business stance and immediately I felt they cared about me. After our interview, I was told that if I had any questions or concerns I could call them personally, and they shared that number with me. When it came time for the actual travel, the drivers were so positive and thorough and turned out to be family members! Absolute care and sensitivity were taken in setting up the van for my father, bringing him down the stairs, packing his things, and making sure he had everything he needed. As the very concerned daughter, I am sure I was asking too many questions and acting like a daughter hen, but I received nothing but reassurance and respect from these wonderful people. As my father's health is fragile at 89, they also made sure to attend to his physical needs like putting an alternating foam mattress on the stretcher to ensure safety of my fathers skin, attending to his warmth and comfort during loading, and toiletry needs during transportation. During the trip, I received regular updates on how he was doing with estimated arrival time. When my father arrived to his new destination, it was reported that transportation delivery went without a hitch. I am SO glad that we utilized this family business for my father's transition to his new life. It was just the right thing to do. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for the safety and security of your loved one. It is absolutely worth it in every way possible. THANK YOU SERVANTS HEART!
