I highly recommend Dr. Chen and Compassion Chiropractic! My first two visits were very thorough... which showed the level on detail and effort he puts into understanding what condition I am/was in. His adjustments are great and the extra time he provides to massage the tight areas first is a bonus (I say this because I've been to other chiropractors and did not receive this level of attention - just crack and out). I've been going now a half a dozen times and feel great each time I walk out. I like that on my second visit after reviewing my X-rays, he went over problems area and what type of stretching exercises I should do to help with super tight areas. It has helped. (I need to do them more frequently :) I found the experience to be so good that a recommended him to my wife and now she is going. We compared notes and she fells the same about her visit(s). Note: the second floor entrance is upstairs and around the side of the building, which is a little strange, but that's the way the Irvine company designed their building... funky boxes. Does the same adjustments every single time and blames everything on reversed neck curve Years later I have permanent neck issues due to joint hypertrophy. If you are suffering from neck pain please don't go to a chiropractor. These people are not real doctors, constantly popping and twisting your neck isn't going to address any real musculoskeletal issue in your body. I know when you're in pain you want to believe in anything to alleviate your pain, chiropractors prey on that. Sometimes a manipulation gives you some momentary pain relief, but in the long run all it does is wear out your joints. If you have neck or back issues, you need to see a physical therapist or physical doctor to address the root of the problem. read more

With my sore lower back and neck pain, it was difficult to maintain a good posture and definite the X-Ray shows! I didn't want to resort to any form of surgery as typically that's the last resort especially when the pain has been on-going. They wonderfully readjusted my back and neck and I'm not as sore as I used to be before with the pinched nerve feeling! I have had neck/shoulder/upper back ache issues, it's been bothering me for quite some time. 2 years ago I was introduced to Compassion Chiro. I was hesitated because I never thought I needed to see a chiropractor, but I'm glad I did came and try out a few sessions. I could definitely see the improvement. With Dr. John & Dr. Jeff treatment, adjustment and consultation, my pain/ache has been noticeably reduced, and now gone! I feel great and sleep much better now too. At first I was a little scared of the adjustment (even though it's not painful at all) but he always made feel at ease. Dr. Chen is an expert and is the only chiropractor I trust! I hurt my back after wearing a bulky costume for a convention and I had pain when I slept and walked around. Dr. Chen preformed a professional and thorough evaluation which included digital x-rays. He is really great at explaining what he is doing and makes sure that your understand. He even emailed me some stretches and exercises that I could do at home to help with treatment. After the first visit I noticed that I was relieved of pain and after a couple more weeks of treatment I feel back to normal! His office is very clean and professional. I cannot recommend this chiropractic office enough! Dr. Chen and Dr. Geoff both understand the importance of maintaining a healthy structure, while also focussing on any underlying issues- whether it be a new pain or something I've been dealing with. I have dealt with scoliosis in my lower back and had years of pain that I have tried to fix. I've seen different chiropractors over the last 10 years, and both Dr. Chen and Dr. Geoff have been the most intentional in regards listening to me, making sure I feel comfortable, and helping me work towards my fitness goals. I've been seeing Dr. Chen for over a year. I'm just lazy in writing reviews, but I feel like owe the entire staff at Compassion Chiropratic a good review because they are amazing in every way and it would be an injustice if I don't. Here's my story. Having chronic lower back pain, a relative recommended Dr. Chen at Compassion Chiropratic. I called and made an initial consult with Dr. Chen. The staff greeted me warmly. I noticed how the office is so clean and bright and modern, very much unlike the other chiropractors I've been before, which burnt incense and looked dark and dingy. Meeting Dr. Chen for the first time was a great experience. He was personable and full of positive energy, and very professional. He asked me very detailed questions about my medical history and what my current situation is. Took an X-Ray and several pictures as a base line so that we can track my progress. Out of all of the chiropractors I've seen, Compassion is the only one who has the ability to take X-Rays. From the X-ray, Dr. Chen explained to me what may be the cause of my chronic lower back pain, and his approaches for my treatment and approximately how much time I should continue my treatment. His methods are scientifically sound and I agreed to start treatment immediately. My initial treatments were more frequent and intensive. After about 5-6 session, my lower back has improved quite a bit. We lowered the frequency of the visits. Now my visits are 2-3 weeks apart. I need to mention that when Dr. Chen is not available, Dr. Hargett treated me a few times. He's also very courteous and polite and professional. The patient rooms are very clean and airy with full length glass windows. The treatment table is plush and comfortable and I see that the staff sanitizes the table immediately after a patient is finished. It's a very comfortable and sanitized environment. The front desk lady is always very polite and courteous. I had to call in to change my schedule several times. She is always accommodating and thoughtful. I got lost the first time looking for the entrance. It turns out just make an immediate u-turn at the top of the staircase. Dr. John Chen is amazing! He did a very thorough physical assessment of me with his x ray machine, postural pictures, and reflex tests. He took the time to go over the results with me, and gave me stretches & exercise I needed to do to improve my posture. He then took his time to adjust me, but not just rack em and crack em style. He took his time to get my muscles to relax with stretches & accupuncture points before doing the adjustment. By the end of the visit I felt relaxed & invigorated. After 5+ years of regular visits to Compassion Chiropractic I've finally decided to make a review. I had issues with my back and was referred to Dr Chen by my pcp. Following an in-depth consultation and xray, Dr Chen quickly showed issues with curvature of spine and explained the corrective procedures. After a few short months of treatment, I was able to feel major improvements, as well as seeing them in xray. Throughout the treatment process the visits were never rushed. In fact, Dr Chen recommended some exercises and stretches that I should do on my own, postures I should maintain, as well as simple things I should do throughout the workday to prevent issues that affect those of us who sit in front of computer all day. I never realized that even things as simple as driving a car would cause problems.
