During the interview I was first told I'd have to pay for my own background check about 3 times they told me this, and then they took the words back days later telling me I didn't have to pay and that the company will pay for it. It was a very weird interview and process, as if they have no clue whether or not to charge you for the background or pay it themselves. I think they are tired of losing money on background checks for people that won't stay; but they were desperate so decided to pay for the background check for me, who knows? If hired, you will realize why employees don't stay and it'll make so much sense. You have to pay for your own tools and your own uniforms. Once hired on, you quickly realize that the maintenance closet doesn't have anything for you to do the job with any level of quality or timely manner because things that you need aren't there, forcing you to contact management and having to wait several days to get anything that you need. If you ever have a complaint about something at the job, don't bother complaining, as their 'Open door policy' is a complete and utter joke, as they will secretly tell the person who you complained about what you've said. And HR doesn't care. Oh and on top of being a maintenance man, they won't tell you this in the interview but you'll be expected to drive residents to their appointments or to transfer them to another facility with no extra pay. Regarding no extra pay; Hampton Manor charges new residents a $150 dollar fee for the maintenance man to install their furniture, but you as the maintenance person (The person installing the furniture) won't see a single penny of it. The money goes straight to Hampton Manor. You will be expected to be on call every 3rd weekend on a rotation, but guess what? You won't be paid for being on call, you will be paid $25 "IF" you get called out for service and mileage, but don't expect to get any money if you don't get called out. So you have to waste your weekend being on call and alert and if you don't get called out, there's zero money it for you.

Food & Nutrition: The meals were consistently good, and my mom never had a single complaint about the food. In fact, she regained the weight she had lost during a prior illness, and we noticed improvements in her cognitive function that we attribute to better nutrition. For that, I truly give them credit. Staff: Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and caring. We never had issues with the people working directly with residents, and that's something we appreciated throughout her stay. Activities: This is where things start to fall short. While our family absolutely loved the activity director as a person--she is warm, dedicated, and clearly cares deeply about the residents--the activity program itself is lacking in both quantity and quality compared to other facilities we toured. Part of the issue seems to be that whenever the facility is short-staffed (for example, going over a month without a housekeeper or maintenance person), the activity director is pulled into those roles. While this shows her commitment, it also makes it clear that activities are not a priority here. If you're looking for a robust, engaging activity schedule to keep your loved one stimulated, this may not be the right fit. Safety Concerns (Major Issue): Our biggest and most serious concern is the facility's lack of functioning safety equipment--paired with the fact that they promote these features during tours despite them not working. During our tour, the director highlighted the motion detector in the room, explaining that staff would be alerted if a resident was up at night. This was a major selling point for us because our mom had previously fallen during the night. She also emphasized the safety lighting around the bathroom door and over the toilet. On move-in day, we were told a safety bracelet had been ordered to alert staff if she exited the building. None of these systems ever worked. The motion detector never functioned. The bracelet never arrived. The bathroom safety lights worked inconsistently at best. The emergency call cord--something standard in medical facilities--also failed because it was connected to the same malfunctioning server. As a result, our mom managed to exit the facility, something that likely wouldn't have happened if the bracelet had been provided. She also had two nighttime falls in the bathroom when the safety light wasn't working, and both times the emergency cord failed to alert staff. Despite all this, the facility remains "in compliance" because they can show a submitted work order. My mom was there for three months, and none of these issues were resolved--or even given a realistic timeline for repair. The Wellness Director even told me she had never seen the equipment functioning during her entire employment. Overall: While the staff is kind and the food is solid, the lack of functioning safety equipment is unacceptable, especially in a memory care or assisted living environment where residents rely on these systems for their well-being. The activity program also needs significant improvement. I hope the facility addresses these issues, but based on our experience, I cannot recommend Serenades for families prioritizing safety and engagement.

She runs that place like a boss. Ginny is a shining light, no lie. She brightens every room when she is in it and always makes the time to hug my mom to ensure she knows everyone cares. Brenda, the head nurse was very good about coming to me when she felt there needed to be some changes in my mom's daily living. When I made a transition for my mom everyone helped my mom and I make that transition seamlessly and comfortably. They took the time to let me work through my feelings because as we all know, this is a difficult time in a childs life. The chef makes the greatest food. Also, believe or not, the presentation on the food is so great. I don't care how old you are, you want your food to look good. Bonnie, the activities director is so good about motivating the residents to do activities. She is so much fun and makes them feel a part of that fun. Do yourself a favor if you are looking for a home for your loved one, visit this community, you will feel the close-knit community feel and their love for the residents. They have a vibrant program for MC and a slew of mature volunteers who keep the residents engaged. What I like: the food is delicious and it is bright and airy. The rooms have built in storage....so much I didn't have to even bring a dresser if I didn't want to. The bathroom has ample storage too. The deep cleaning occurs weekly and is done so well-even the corners are reached. The Executive Director is approachable and responsive. The staff are helpful and responsive too. I can access staff quickly and directly via phone. Cameras (no audio) are allowed and that has given me peace of mind to see my mom's routines and her interactions with the staff. I am pleased that TS wants so much transparency. The questions I have had are answered quickly and a win/win appears to be the goal. I have had experience with 3 different facilities and this is head and shoulders above the other 2. I highly recommend Trinity Springs. btw, a friend moved his wife in and he is/was very happy with the facility and the staff. When she passed, he invited her caregivers to her service. It is a nice place. The sales lady has been with TS since it opened about 6 years ago. No pressure and quick to answer or get answers to my questions.

It has been a journey dealing with Alzheimer's, but having the staff at Mission Oaks by my side has made this difficult time easier to deal with. Their trips on the bus are especially meaningful now that Mom can't walk on her own. It's so wonderful for her to get out and see horses, the countryside and to go out to lunch once a week.
