People play Frisbee and cornhole, or just chill on the Adirondack chairs. On chillier days or if staying for the evening, bring a blanket, a poncho or a coat. There are multiple vendors that sell food (pizza, vegan ice cream and such), though they do not operate every week-day. There's a drinking room inside, which is also where people congregate in the winter. They've got a large variety of their ciders on tap accompanied by helpful descriptions. The bartenders are friendly and will steer you right if you need help making a selection. There's flights and glass pours. The flights are fun - I highly recommend doing it! My friends and I, we do a flight per two people, and then we each order a glass (or two) of our favorites. During cold winter, they also sell hot cider (not-alcoholic), which you can have spiked with apple spirit. On week-end nights, there's often live music playing in the early evening in the big tent / dining hall. It's open air, so bring a blanket or a coat

It is a stark contrast from the consumerist drudgery, hyper-stimulation, and quotidian violence of the modern U.S. market-scape which has metastasized like a bad rash over the land. An alternative way of relating to strangers and community members alike, around long wooden tables, listening to local folk performers stirs up a sense of communality from long-ago genetic and cultural memories. Eating good food, and drinking from a curated collection of ciders each infused and brewed slightly differently makes you feel "rich" in the true sense of humanity and wellbeing. I recommend this unusual vision of communal gathering -- where you can wander between wooden beam-constructed huts in which various food vendors are selling specialty items, then gather to sit down and eat in a large tent. Here you can also enjoy open farm vistas, and explore some planted rows. There is whimsical art festooned around the collection of low-slung huts. The ground is not paved so you can feel as if you are in touch with the earth. My food choice was a bahn mi sandwich which was excellently executed with toasted bread, both tasty and filling. It used a tempeh made with wheat grown in Chimacum itself. It had beautifully pickled daikon, carrots, and cilantro while the mayo was warming. Missing jalapenos were compensated for with chili sauces that you could custom add. I washed this down with a small six ounce glass of a mix of ciders because I couldn't decide my favorite flavors (strawberry infused cider was my jam that day). Be aware that food vendors will be different depending on the day of your visit. I feel that the care & finesse with which the bahn mi was executed is an indication of the high caliber of curated, prepared food available for purchase at this "farm" experience. Our mom is a former outdoor educator and lifelong outdoorswoman, and we're all foodies and fans of goat cheese. None of us are farmers, and although my mom and I have a healthy respect for ecology and botany, I wouldn't say either of us were interested in the kind of undertaking the owners of the farm have done. Nonetheless, their tour was fascinating and easy to understand. They let us direct the level of interest and depth of education, and it was inspiring for all of us to see the success they've made of the goat farm and garden, using pre-1940's holistic/cooperative techniques and humane approaches. Plus, we got to cuddle with baby dairy goats! This farm is clearly a lot of labor (on top of running the business side of things, making goat dairy products, raising children, and running a house), and I'm so glad they also conduct these tours because we had a blast. The end of the tour included tasting some delicious goat cheese, goat yogurt (less to our taste), and cajeta- a rare treat to be savored! Their ricotta is the first I've ever had that wasn't gritty, and I've had baked ricotta on sourdough toast every morning this week for breakfast (so good with a little cinnamon sugar, or a tiny bit of lemon zest!). The lemon chevre and chive chevre is also amazing. The cajeta....well, I could just eat it with a spoon, but I think I'll have to find a few special dishes to drizzle it over. Going on this tour gave our family something fun and fascinating to talk about for the rest of the day, and a few "hey, we should own a family goat farm" pipe dreams (the goat *are* truly adorable, and very affectionate). It's absolutely worth every penny, especially if you're interested in sustainable farming practices and boutique animal husbandry.

Went to Mystery Bay Farm for the basic tour. So glad we did!…read more I can't overstate how much fun we had. Rachael was great at introducing us to the goat herd. She helped us coordinate our tour so that it was during kidding season, which meant there were baby goats galore! Did you know that - in addition to their fondness of nibbling on your shoe strings - baby goats also love to cuddle? So freaking cute and so freaking soft. Her tour would be spectacular in any season, but being able to hold and bottle-feed the little guys made it that much more fun. She also showed us where and how she makes the cheeses, and was excellent at answering all of our random cheese and dairy related questions (what makes Greek yogurt Greek yogurt, for example?). Oh yeah, did we mention that her goat cheese (samples included in the tour) was delicious? Wonderful texture and flavor. Just wish it was sold in Seattle... So overall, we would highly recommend a tour of the Mystery Bay Farm to anyone who finds themselves in the area. Rachael is super nice, and you'll learn a lot from her and get to hang out with her goats, who are pretty awesome.

The 15-acre…read morefarm was simply magical, with rows and rows and rows and rows of varying and vibrant shades of lavender, which our guests enjoyed exploring before and after the ceremony. We first met the owner, Keith, at the Field Arts and Events Hall Wedding Expo. He was personable, helpful, and very accommodating. He had several suggestions--while open to all of our ideas--for where we could hold the ceremony and how we could arrange seating. He was also open to us returning in the evening so we could have amazing photos taken during the "golden hour" lighting. And to top it off, he even supplied the lavender for our wedding reception centerpieces! And as a side note, there was ample parking for our 100 guests. In the end, we can't imagine how our wedding could have turned out any better! If you're getting married on the Olympic Peninsula, you should definitely take a good look at Flatiron Fields. We could not be any happier with our experience. --CB and Edwina Bell

I cannot recommend them enough for your special day.
