I find it odd that this practice has seen no more reviews since I wrote mine 4 1/2 years ago. The practice is bustling with patients, and at our advanced age I can't imagine we're the only ones that use social media.
Oh well, what I said in '16 still applies today. Most recently, Ivan has been working with my girl on some hip issues. This time, I'm the driver. So I sit to the side, read my NY Times, and listen. Before we started going to see Ivan, both my girl and I had received services from other PTs in the Kalamazoo area. In the 80's I was riding a back wrenching show horse (but man, did he look great on the flat or over fences). In the 90's my girl started having the early tinges of back pain. We were referred to PTs, some decent, some terrible. The terrible ones tended to prescribe exercises that only made the problem significantly worse.
Having worked with Ivan in '15 when I fell in an icy parking lot and tore a disc in my back, and watching how he works with my girl, I see Ivan to be a thorough diagnostician and a careful and thoughtful treatment provider. He explains what is going on, why things are haywire, and starts a range of exercises to strengthen the troubling area. Ivan explains how the exercises relate to the problem. He explains what the desired outcomes should be. But he cautions that if an exercises causes pain, then stop doing it. I still do the handful of exercises that Ivan gave me in '16, and I haven't had any reoccurrence of back pain.
We live in the city of Kalamazoo, so it's a 30 minute drive through town and east on Gull Road to Richland. But it's worth it. He and other staff use face masks and clean exercise areas or equipment between patients. read more
