This was our first time visiting The Porch and Anna Maria Island…read more My wife and I ate lunch at The Porch on 6/27/26 and mentioned to our fantastic server Karen that our son was getting engaged later that day. She came back out and asked us if we had plans to eat for after the engagement and we told her we did not. The owner had offered to accommodate our party if we wanted to come back for dinner and gave us free Shirley Temples for a toast since everyone was non alcoholic. We had a party of 11 for the engagement dinner and Karen took care of us again. The whole experience could not have been any better. Karen is incredible and everyone went out of their way to make it a very memorable experience. They even brought the engaged couple complementary key lime pie with "She said yes" on the dessert. The food, service and location and ambiance are exceptional and we will definitely eat there again when we are visiting the area.

Two of us had the grouper entree, one blackened and one sautéed- both were delicious, fresh, flavorful and perfectly prepared! Salad was fresh and delicious, the sides also excellent. Our first visit to the island but we'll definitely remember this jewel of a restaurant if/when we return.

They have a few picnic tables out front and more seating inside. We got a parking spot no problem and went inside. It is an order at the counter place with a dark wood feel. This is not your typical BBQ place, their website describes their restaurant as fast casual + BBQ fusion. Many traditional BBQ items such as ribs and baked beans are not on the menu, yet they offer other items like a Cuban sandwich. I went BBQish and ordered their Double Brisket Burger, and Canadian with a large order of Poutine. I recommend checking out the menu before you go the first time just to make sure you see something you want. My brisket burger was very tender and easy to eat. I liked it even though the caramelized onion added a burnt taste. It was a lot of food. The flavor of the poutine was subtle, and was a lot of fries. High marks on their Cuban sandwich from my dinner companion. I liked the place, liked the people, liked the other customers who we chatted with. We are local but seldom make it out to the beach so nice vacation vibes rubbed off on us as well. We left full and happy.

Brisket burger was good, a bit greasy, but flavor was ok. The loaded chips were definitely different. Chips were a barbecue flavor, smothered in blue cheese dressing and large chunks of blue cheese. The blue cheese was the best part. Chips not that great. The inside is rustic, a few tables and chairs with picnic tables with umbrellas out in front.

The seafood accompaniment was adequate and filling. Also had a side house salad, which seemed fresh and also very nice. Good wine selection and I can't complain about the beer that I ordered. If you're comparing to a top ranked seafood restaurant in Miami or Tampa, look elsewhere. The prices were fair and I would probably go back there if I were in town again. The only weird part was the service. It was great for the first 45 minutes and then the waitress just literally disappeared. Mike was gone for 20 minutes until we finally had to ask another waiter for our check. They probably could've gotten me for a few more drinks if they had tried. I was going to get three stars, but I think they do deserve four stars for overall experience.

Upon asking questions regarding the menu, she did not provide answers and was frustrated when one of our party members was not sure what wellness level they would like their fish cooked to, as they had never been offered an option at previous restaurants. No smile, no how are you doing, just frustrated and in a hurry to get it over with. The food was nothing special. High price, low quality. You'd have a better experience going to longhorn steakhouse any day. One person in our party was sick to their stomach later that night. I would not return for a second experience.

The restaurant is located on the floor of a small hotel. Parking can be tricky but available. Tables vary from family style to banquettes and high tops. There is a full bar with ample seating. Florida casual attire, after all you're on an island. I started with the French Onion Soup and my husband had the escargot. Both were excellent. For dinner, I truly enjoyed the Chateaubriand which is served atop of a carrot purée and their own potato au gratin made with Bleu cheese. These unique potatoes are pie cut and blend perfectly with the meat. It's a symphony for your tastebuds. Dessert was the owner, Buddy, mom's Ricotta Cheesecake. Homemade, Yes! Decadent, Smooth and Delicious, Oh my Yes! Want more, Definitely Yes! This restaurant is a hidden treasure. Yes, it is priced at a higher rate than most restaurants in the area, but the quality and service is also at a higher standard unlike any in our area. A wonderful combination of relaxed, unpretentious and fine dining. Where friends can gather, families can make memories and love stories are built. We need them back in Sarasota. Make the reservation, take the drive to the island, to escape your reality for a couple of hours of the best meat and seafood dishes in a unique restaurant. Guarantee you will leave as part of the family.
