The owner was really nice and the store had many underground artists/bands so with popular ones. I saw tapes and movies in physical media.

Great store, I buy movies there and music sometimes, i recently sold movies I didn't need to the store for 125 dollars and it was worth it!

3.5 Stars. As an avid CD collector, I was determined to check this place out. They have a TON of compact discs to peruse, they get points for quantity. The used section was very diverse, offering most of any genre or time period you can think of. You will end up finding a great disc, and I did in fact leave with a CD I wanted. That said, I would suggest the store relax a bit on selling "best of"/compilation CDs. Those have their place, but I would have preferred seeing less of those. Overall, this is a good record store, and the owner was very nice to speak to. I'm pleased to find more CD stores and give them business because stores like this are slowly fading away. I recently discovered this store by accident, but, I'm very glad that I did. The inventory of music and film is quite impressive, as are the prices. The owner is a very hospitable and knowledgeable gentleman, who is quite pleasant and accommodating in his rapport with his customers. I was told that he's been in the same location for 30 years, and I can see why. Although, I actually reside in Manhattan (although originally born, bred and buttered in Brooklyn), I plan on making excursions into the motherland (Brooklyn), just to visit this wonderful shoppe. The Compact Disc Shoppe is the best music store I have encountered in a very long time. The owner is friendly and very helpful. I needed help to get a unique birthday gift for my friend's birthday. For those of you looking for CDs in 2019, this is an ideal place. Great selection of new and used discs. Blu-ray values are also very good. My son wanted a vinyl that they didn't have in stock, and he had it ordered for the next day at a reasonable price. Highly recommended. We need to support local businesses! read more

This is another cd store that was once a great place to find a bargain. I don't think it is anymore, last time I was in the area it looked like they were having a hard time staying open. However when I went here they would have great prices on their used cds and I would usually find something every time I came in. The last few times I went, didn't look like they were buying anything new. read more

If it isn't the last, it is certainly the best small store left in Brooklyn that sells music, and movies too. Unlike the big chains that carry a small selection of contemporary fad music, this place can get just about anything. I have been shopping here for 8 years and I owe my entire music and movie collection to this place. The owner is very personable, knowledgeable, and resourceful. If it exists, and can be obtained, he'll get it for you. His specialty is oldies music, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, but he sells contemporary music too. If he doesn't have it in the store, he can order it. Same with the movies. He also has a large selection of used vinyl, cds, dvds, and blue rays very very cheap if you're looking for a bargain. He also does VHS to DVD transfers if you want to be able to watch your home movies on the latest technology. This place is a one stop shop for all your entertainment needs. This store has a loyal and sizeable customer following, myself included. The store is small in size and has a very comfortable friendly atmosphere, not like those large impersonal chain stores. You can actually talk to the owner and get help finding what you need. Sorry about the long review, but I just cant say enough positive things about this place, it really is that good.
