I'm so dismayed by the BS smear by the reviewer Patrick K. Who gave Deep Cut records a 1 star review. I've had nothing short of amazing digs here at my local record store (2 min away); and found things I never knew I wanted on vinyl to boot. First off, the owner and all of the staff I've met are knowledgeable, warm, and have excellent taste with what they play inside the store. I recall having a fond conversation with Matt when he heard me blasting the Yamatsuka Eye side project, Audio Sports, from the listening booth before taking it home with me! I also have Deep Cut records to thank for selling me OG copies of Julee Cruise's Floating into the Night which I got signed by Angelo Badalamenti. As the owner mentioned they are a small business, but a special one I hold dear to my heart. I still cherish my mireille mathieu and heiner goebbels lps! Wish them at least 10 more good years! read more

Deep Cuts Record Store - Vinyl Records Near Me - Ridgewood, New York

Always find something (or more than one something) when I stop in here. Staff is super knowledgable and clearly cares about the music they're selling. read more

I think this is our new favorite record store. Great selection of Indy & Punk. Excellent prices. Color vinyl editions of classics. Only bought half of what we wanted, need to go back for the rest. read more

When you have an altar for Selena (the one and only), a velvet Dolly Parton poster, a bunch of Mexico old school film posters on the back wall of the "register" I know that I've come to the right place. On my other side I noticed a gritty photo of a couple bathroom stalls. I asked Brandon (working at the register) if it was the Mars Bar. He mentioned it was actually "Death by Audio". I guess he used to work there and he was in the documentary. No need to ask and embarrass yourself. I did that part for you. If you don't know, Death by Audio was "THE" DIY venue in Brooklyn for many years. RIP As I passed the wall of tapes, the eighties WF video game, I reached the records. This collection felt so close to me. I'm Mexican and I found myself right in front of the Tito Puente records. I really couldn't resist. This is the kind of album that is great on vinyl. I asked if I could use the record player to listen to the "Dance Mania" album. Brandon stated that if the record is not sealed then I'm able to give it a listen to. It was perfect. I had to break my no shopping rule and get the record. As I continued to peruse there was classic kraut rock "CAN" and old teen faves like Nirvana and the Cramps! I adored the fact that they had an old school Goblin album that I was drooling over! This place is incredibly dangerous to my wallet but makes my heart pitter patter! I'm so happy that I found this little Ridgewood record store. I like lazy Sundays and I can see a record store visit on a said Sunday. There is something so special about getting home, making tea, getting ready to paint and sliding on your new record. It's magical! Thanks Deep Cuts Record Store. read more

Amazing small shop with great staff and great selection. Brandon, the owner, is a dj at WFMU and is an awesome human. Love this place! Would recommend to ANYONE. read more

Great selection, Employees were nice to me. I spent more than i should have on way too much good stuff.

My favorite local record store hands down, amazing selection of mostly used and some new vinyl at fair prices. Love the fact that they also have a handful of hardcore and punk 7 inches which is what I'm usually looking for. Great selection of old school hip hop and soul along with classic rock etc. I'm usually broke and window shopping but the owner is always chill and friendly on the days I don't actually buy anything. read more

A miserable experience! $15 credit card minimum!?!? Ever wonder if they are playing annoying music so you will leave? (It was on before I got there) I put up with an hour of the worst atonal, shrill, random, da-daist, chaos sound collage while figuring out that I only wanted 1 record in the pile of selections I chose. It was hot inside. At the height of the most stressful section of this torment OST a car outside laid on the horn too long and the store clerk went out in the street yelling like a madman. After all this I went to by an $11 record and he says it's $15 card minimum. I could have found an ATM and paid a surcharge but I really couldn't see going out of my way to buy from this place. Out of the 30+ record stores in the NYC area nowhere else has a credit card minimum this high. Really not an ideal environment! read more

It's a record store. Great place to search for something to go home with and get cozy with.

Delayed review here, but I went to Deep Cuts for the first time last September, and I loved it! Great selection and fair prices. Picked up a copy of the soundtrack to 'Bad Dreams,' which I've never even seen out in the wild before. I'm moving back to NYC this year, and I'll most definitely be a Deep Cuts regular read more

Friendly staff, great selection and amazing memorabilia hung up all around the shop. The perfect dream for any crate digger no matter what genre you're into. read more

This place rules. Every time I've gone, there's been really amazing records for good prices. (One time I got a 2nd pressing 'Not Available' by the Residents in great shape for $15) Plus the dudes who've been at the register when I've gone in have been knowledgable and super helpful. A+. NYC is not the great record store haven people might think it is. Places like this, though, help correct those terrible "this scratched af late Blondie record is $40" places all over the place. read more

BEST SHOP ON THE BLOCK Well, it's the only one on this particular block, but certainly my favorite in ridgewood and one of the best used record stores in the city. Almost always spinning something i haven't heard before that occasionally becomes a favorite. They have a great selection, helpful genre groupings (early 00's, indie, dad rock, etc.), and i rarely leave empty handed. Happy to have Deep Cuts as my neighborhood shop. read more

Best record shop - period. Amazing always changing selection. First pressings galore. Been turned onto unbelievable new artists just by perusing the vinyl they put up on their wall. Love this place! read more

We entered and X was playing. This was a good sign. The store has great sections and interesting selections. I need to go back here and get more rare and weird vinyl. read more

Worth the trip out from Huntington even in traffic. Found a few things I have been looking for forever (Ween the pod and Rufus Wainwright Want) also they had My Morning Jacket (New stock) which no one can keep in Stock Sometime it pays to go out of the way and do a dig somewhere else. Thank you guys for your help and knowledge. read more

Down home neighborhood record shop with great selections, reasonable prices and lovely vibes

Great shop! Prices are reasonable and the selection is on point and has something for everyone. I love digging through the crates here and I've gotten a bunch of bargains here as well as some hard to find stuff in pristine condition. Always putting out new stuff so it's always worth popping in if you're in the neighborhood! Also a great follow on the Gram!!! read more

Stopped by this store to kill some time on a long layover at JFK (it's about 20 mins cab ride from the airport) Well worth visiting if you're in Queens or NY, it's a small shop but is very well organized and all of the records there are interesting in some way. It's rare to find a store that doesn't stock "filler records" to take up shelf space, but this store does not. The staff member who sold me my records was also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended l. read more

V sick store. Don't go as much as I should cuz gotta save money. But everyone else should go all the time.

I have found some of my favorite and rare records here! They're always quick to respond when I've showed interest in something I spotted online. I got my boyfriend a gift credit to the store because I was certain he'd leave with a good find! read more

Hidden gem in Ridgewood. So many records to go through you could spend hours browsing. They ship too if you aren't interested in going in person or don't live in the area. read more

Legit one of my favorite record stores in NYC. I always walk in to browse and, without fail, will leave with at least 5 records. Organized. Great selection of used stuff. Great prices. Knowledgeable staff. read more

Super chill record store with reasonable prices. Employees are always nice. I got a Portastatic record for like $5!

This was one of the only specialty record shops open in the Ridgewood/Bushwick area for a few years there and they still deserve credit for holding it down back then. A little something for everyone, but definitely not an encyclopedic Amoeba-style experience. Go with an open mind and see what's cheap. Or what's rare. Or what's weird. You'll find it! read more

The best!! If I had a million dollars I'd blow it all here lol. Just sold two records, the easiest and least snobby record re-sale of my life! Def gonna come back here. read more

Yelping about record stores is like dancing about architecture. But this place is boss! Great selection, insanely knowledgeable staff. Go.

Smooth sailing with Boopsie & Flo. Not a worry in the world when the tunes keep coming and the vibes to match. Have a dance, cowboy

Marty is just the best. Great DJ with a huge variety in taste. This shop has it all. Keep it up!

Brandon is more knowledgeable about music than anyone else I know. This record store started as an outpost at the local music venue Silent Barn, and caters toward the local music scene as well as eclectic tastes and pop. He's been DJing at WFMU for over a decade so the dude knows his shit. Best record store in NYC. read more

If you love to hunt for vynil and you are in Ridgewood you can't miss Deep Cuts. Brandon (the owner) is an WFMU DJ (Marty McSorley) he is very knowledgeable and kind. I always feel self conscious asking record store clerks questions... but not here. read more

Great record shop in Ridgewood. They host backyard bbqs in the summer that add to the neighborly community and culture. They have tons of great deals on records, tapes and more. awesome selection, fabulous shop owners. read more

For all you vinyl enthusiasts, Ridgewood has an actually record store. Good selection too. Dig the Russian versions of Iggy and The Stooges and Sonic Youth album releases. Klaus Nomi adds bonus points. The shop has a small cassette section too. Didn't see any CDs though. For the budding groovy hot wax collector. Hope you guys stick around for a while. read more

I love this place -- it originated at the Silent Barn (where I work) but Brandon got his own spot and while I was sad for him to leave his old space, this new spot is a real improvement. The store's got a great selection but it's not overly curated. A lot of good used stuff. Also boxes upon boxes of library music, if you're into that. A must visit if you're in Ridgewood. read more

Favorite record store in NY. Great curation, great vibe, great staff, great categories. They buy collections from people in the neighborhood so it's definitely a siiiiiiick window to Queens. read more

FINALLY!!! A LOCAL RECORD SHOP WITH A WIDE AND INCLUSIVE SELECTION. I mean seriously these guys have everything. From punk to Disney tunes to smooth jazz. This is seriously a record shop for everyone. read more

This is actually a review of this seller on Discogs.com. I have not been to this store in person, but since this Brandon guy has gone unresponsive, this is my only recourse. I made an order and there was a snafu in shipping (my fault entirely) that resulted in the package being returned undelivered. He never refunded my payment or resent the items, even after he requested an additional $5 to resend it. Now he's failed to respond to several messages. So I'm out $77 and have no records. I'm sure this kind of thing won't happen if you make a purchase in-store, but do you really want to support a business that's run by such a dishonest person? read more
