This afternoon the front fender stay on my Specialized bicycle broke and wrapped itself around the disc brake, disabling the brake. I brought my bike into Comor Kitsilano, the mechanic was able to fix it right away, and he didn't even charge anything...Thank you Levi! Your service was so appreciated and I will tell everybody I know how well you treated me. read more

Brought my board in to get waxed. When I got it back, I removed their masking tape label and found some residue on the board. Couldn't get it off, so I called the store. They recommended to rub it out with Alcohol. It helped a little, but I can still see the marking. Super irritated that I try to keep my board clean and get it back from them with a marking that I can't get off. read more

TL/DR: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM COMOR SPORTS! Comor Sports sold me bindings they knew were faulty and recalled, didn't advertise them as such, and are now refusing to offer any form of customer service-- leaving me on the hook for costs that should have never occurred in the first place. Not to mention they actively put my safety at risk by selling a faulty product. Long version: Negligent. Petulant. Unhelpful. These are three words that I would use to describe Comor Sports. In September 2019 I purchased a set of Marker Kingpin bindings from Comor Sports online. What I didn't know at the time was that Comor had sold me bindings that had been recalled earlier in the year. Furthermore, instead of Comor handling this issue with Marker when the recall was issued, they just sat on the stock and sold it knowingly to unassuming customers, even after the recall notice had ended and didn't need to be posted publicly anymore. Thankfully Comor Sports' gross negligence in this regard did not end in injury or death, but it very well could have. After purchasing said bindings in September 2019 I have totalled 20 skis days on them over the course of 3 seasons-- less than some people in a single season! On the second day of the season this year, and thankfully at the very end of the day, a pin from one of the toe pieces sheared off when dismounting my skis for the day. For the record, I have never skied hard on these bindings and do not get any air when skiing-- I like my skis to be touching the snow at all times. After some googling about this toe-pin issue with the kingpins, I came across the recall notice, and sure enough, my bindings fall inside of the recall. I thought, "perfect! I can contact the retailer and have this sorted as they sold this product and good customer service is common in the ski industry."... Was I ever wrong. I was met with denial of any wrong doing, refusal to help in any way, and told that it's all my fault and I would have to now pay to send them back to marker on my own and to remount the bindings. Need I remind you that Comor sold me these bindings after all recall notices had been posted and even said to be taken down? Being a ski shop and a Marker dealer, it's safe to assume that they were fully aware of this recall and chose to do nothing about their affected stock. I am now left in this situation where, in the interest of time and to salvage what is left of the ski season, I have little choice on how to proceed. I am now left with an incredibly sour taste in my mouth about Comor Sports and missed days on skis due to their money saving negligence. Thankfully it didn't end in serious injury or death. I will never buy from Comor Sports again and neither should you. read more

The staff here all know their stuff and with their sales make this place a popular destination. On my way to the Granville market I stopped in here because they were advertising deep discounts on all "Vancouver 2010" merch. I don't normally go for that thing but I had presents to buy for people back home, so I went in. Well, I scored big time! Cuddly, stuffed versions of the cute Vancouver Olympic mascots were being sold at half off. I bought a whole herd of them to take home, and attracted by the prices I bought a "Vanc. 2010" ski cap for myself and a pair of DaKine gloves at 30% off. I walked out of the store wondering if I'd been had--I used to work in retail, so I'm always wary about too-good-to-be-true price cuts--but a quick look at the prices for the same exact items at the Granville market and at The Bay over in downtown told me I'd made the right choice. I should add that the staff seemed really helpful and knowledgeable. I saw some customers who were buying sports gear being asked really in-depth questions about what they were going to use their gear for and being given helpful suggestions in return. While I didn't require such service, it was good to see others getting it. read more

Comor is my go-to ski shop in vancouver. They have really quick turn-around time, friendly staff and a great product selection. Their forte is freeride skis, but they seem to have a decent selection of 'all-mountain' and beginner skis. my only beef is that i think their clothing section could use a major update. there are a bunch of crummy expensive salomon jackets and a few nice TNF outerwear pieces, but i don't think their selection of skis matches the clothing they sell. their service department is out of this world. they must have spent a few hours fixing up an old pair of gotamas of mine that had some water damage at the heel mounting point...mounting, remounting, heli-coils and a tune. they managed to get an extra season out of them, and only charged me $40 for about 2 hrs of work. way to go comor. read more

Shopping at Comor was a great experience. I went in not so sure I was going to purchase skis but the deal on the product plus the extra percent off I got for a few other things was totally worth it. I spent a lot, but walked away very happy! My skis were ready for me in less than a week because I told them I was going on vacation, and communication between them and myself was excellent. I will be going back to Comor when I want to buy my bike this summer! read more

Of the many outdoor snow/surf/skate shops in this block of West Fourth, I think this store has the best selection of ski equipment. Skiers should keep it in mind if they're looking to get some new gear. The shop is a fair size and offers clothing, shoes and accessories as well as sporting equipment. However, we found the staff here to be a bit overwhelmed. Whereas neighbouring competitors had ample staff who were welcoming and eager to help, this shop seemed to be either short staffed or staffed with less friendly sales people. It was the only shop in the block where we weren't offered any help, even though my friend wanted to try on a pair of snowboard boots. We decided not to waste time and headed across the street to greener pastures. Perhaps I was wrong to assume that their motto "Go Play Outside" was intended for *after* you had purchased some of their goods. We got the 'take a hike' message while browsing. read more

Not as knowledgeable as they promote themselves to be. Very friendly with fair prices, however they sold me a ski boot that was too narrow for my foot. (The boot came in a low volume and regular volume version; I ended up with the low volume, when the regular would have been the right choice.) As a result, my feet fall asleep and freeze within 45 mins in the boot and I have no desire to ski. I would shop there for accessories, but would not buy another pair of ski boots from them. read more

Comor is right next to Pacific Boarder.. I found their service was pretty equal in knowledge, friendliness, and efficiency. They had a pretty decent selection of gear. Overall, Comor is a great place to start your winter season. PS: Make sure to shop around in that area because there's a good 4-5 other snowboard shops all in that intersection. read more

My overall experience was really good, however, once I reached the cashier it ruined it. Since leaving the store I felt really frustrated. I was really excited to get my first ski equipment, and the Asian girl who helped me was really professional and attentive but once I reached the cashier the experience got ruined. Instead of helping me she just looked annoyed at me and was scorning me with her eyes. And I am not even talking about how she was whispering beside me with another salesman, which in my opinion looked rude and I felt like she was judging me. The location is really comfortable, they have a nice parking area at the back. The store is big and nice lit. There was quite a line for an assistant in ski department but it didn't bother since they had enough sitting area. I actually still thought of buying inner garments and ski bag but after this experience I would think twice to ever return here. I just felt like since I was spending enough money buying full equipment which end up in total close to 2000 cad I deserved not to be scorned by a cashier. read more

I was really excited to buy my first brand new bike from Comor! I placed an order for a bike not yet assembled but the staff could not locate the bike. I left my contact info with a promise for a call the next day. Unfortunately, I never heard back. I followed up and spoke with a guy named Evan who was not too pleased I called 5 minutes before closing (I work during their business hours). I again left my contact info with him but never heard back. I followed up once more during my lunch break & left my contact info one last time.. Would you believe they never called back? lol Frustrated by the sheer lack of customer service. Obviously took my business elsewhere. read more

I went on boxing day to buy touring boots. It was crazy busy and was expecting to be crazy rushed by staff but I didn't feel rushed at all. Tom helped me find boots and took lots of time to make sure I found the ones that were right for me. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with explaining the equipment (which I don't know much about since I'm new to touring) and helped work out the kinks with my boots so they fit me well (and said I can come back any time if further adjustments needed). The staff in general seem like they weren't there to just make quick sales but wanna make sure you find what's suitable for you (and your price range). I highly recommend heading there if ya want expert staff to help ya with your outdoor purchases. read more

I've been in a sporty phase lately, and decided to take up skiing after a 10 year hiatus from the slopes. Having ordered my skis online, I was looking for boots and really clueless about what I needed. After visiting all of the ski shops on 4th, I ended up back at Comor for my purchase. They had the best value for your buck, the most knowledgable sales people, and the biggest selection of boots for ladies with petite feet like me. Never pushy, Matt helped me out and was genuinely concerned with finding me a comfortable fit in my price range (and put up with my insistence that my boots must match my outfit!). If you're on the market for ski gear go to Comor and talk to Matt - customer service at its best! read more

I came here the afternoon on Boxing Day hoping to find discounted boarding gear. I didn't really expect much attention from the staff since this is one or the busiest days of the year, but I was wrong! Andrew was super helpful in answering my questions and finding the items that were right for me and in my price range (I didn't have to say much - he somehow read my mind). He and his colleague also went back and forth finding the right size and colour of boot for me (because colour totally matters!). They were multitasking btwn me and other customers, but I never felt like I had to wait long or felt neglected in any way. Andrew also showed how knowledgeable he was of the sport and how the gear should fit, with comfort in mind. I really enjoyed my experience and will be coming back :) read more

I purchased a brand new road bike here in summer of 2017. Not the most expensive rig but paid over 2k so was expecting it to perform pretty well and last a good amount of time before needing repairs. Realized when I got home that the bike was in less than brand new condition. It had a kinked front hydraulic brake cable and scratches on the crank. The crank was less an issue since it was cosmetic, but they refused to fix the cable telling me that if it breaks to bring it back and they'll fix it. Not what I had in mind when I purchased a brand new bike that's for sure. Then within the first month I had to take it back to have the spokes on the rear wheel tightened which they charged me for. Won't be returning for future purchases or service. read more

Ski boots too large. Right when I walked in today, immediately, one of the guys there asked me if I need help. I told him about my problem of my sky boots being too large. He then asked me if I had my boots with me. I said no. He then proceeded to explain to me that he can only guess what he can do for me. He asked me to put my foot flat on the floor then he poked his finger under the arch of my foot and said your foot has small arch. He then went to the section where the ski boots are and pulled from the drawer two types of insoles. One insoles coloured blue has a high arch design and the other green coloured insoles has higher convex curve at the hill. For my situation, he said, it is better to take the green because of the boots being larger. He instructed me to put my foot in each one and see I how felt. Again, he said without having the boots present he can only imagine how the insoles would help. He informed me the green insole has higher hill so my feet would be placed at higher angle. This would help the blood flow to the front of my toes so to keep them warm while sitting on the chair lift. I choose green insoles. He even gave me a pair of liners to stick on the bottom so when they are inserted, they will stay in place better. There were other recommendation he gave me but it is too long to mention here. Overall, the guys there was extremely help even for a pair of insoles. I felt grateful to them. I bought both the green and blue insoles. read more

My husband and I bought skis in December. The sales rep helped us pick the right skis for our abilities that we both love. My husband also bought boots, and the rep talked him into getting a much smaller size than he thought he should get because smaller boots prevent twisting ankles and give better performance in the long run. They promised if the boots were uncomfortable they could stretch or mold them. When he skied with them, they hurt and almost cut off circulation, but the staff quickly stretched the boots as promised even though we went on an extremely busy day. Overall great service and good selection. read more

Bought my first bike from this store just the past weekend, the guy who helped me, Blair, was really helpful in introducing me to the bikes and letting me try them out pressure-free. They even threw in a kickstand for free. Although there were some price discrepancies between the website and the store tag, technical glitch or not, they quickly matched the price without hesitation, which left me very satisfied. Apart from great selection, the store has great customer service, values and ethics, and I think they should be recognized! Thanks Blair! read more

Went to upgrade the skis and boots for the kids that we had bought here two years ago. They could not find the record of our sale for the skis (only one pair of boot was in their system) and claimed that they did not sell any of these skis for 4 years. The young associate who helped us was very pleasant and helpful, the manager and the more senior stuff plain rude. We went to Snow covers bought what we needed, much much better experience, professional staff. read more

I can't believe I had a completely opposite experience from others. Perhaps its because I was online however I ordered products listed online as available thinking great avoid the boxing day crowds only to find out that nothing I ordered was available. The person was unhelpful asking if I wanted a replacement item but not offering any product as a replacement and when I stated I was dissatisfied continued to grill me as though that was going to make me more satisfied. Sounds from the reviews that I should have gone in but online the experience was a definite no go. Avoid it if possible. read more

Visiting from Minnesota, daughters boots didn't fit well (her brothers old pair) and feet had hurt skiing Christmas day. Went in Boxing Day, generally chaotic due to big sale. Devon spotted us pretty quickly and proceeded to fit my daughter into a few pairs of boots, while simultaneously fitting at least two others. His attitude was great and his feedback on the fitting was excellent. We ended up buying the more expensive Dalbello pair, in the hope my daughter's feet don't grow more. I then asked Devon to refit my boots (not old, but I wasn't happy with the sloppy fit (from Minnesota). He said the boots were perfect for me except they were a full size too big, which I had suspected. He tried me in a couple pairs, one Dalbello, one Lange. He gave me a great price on the Langes, so I picked them up. We skied two days later at Whistler, and my boots felt great except for one area on one foot. My daughter felt her boots started fine but were feeling uncomfortable later in the day, but then remembered she never snugged the buckles down after walking to the gondola! I went back and saw Devon the next day (same sort of chaos) and had my boot slightly punched out, and took in my son's boots for a refit as he has bunions that hurt after a day of skiing. You guessed it, they were also a size too large (fitted by the same guy that did my boots). Devon fitted him into a pair of Atomics, and we skied later in the week at Cypress. My boots felt better, but need more punch out (it's my wierd foot) which I will get done on my next visit, and my son's felt good. Overall, didn't expect to purchase 3 pairs of boots, but glad we did. Even though the store was jammed both days we got good service (I didn't expect people to rush up the moment I appeared in the store), and every one I observed was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I definitely can recommend the store and Devon, who got us into boots that should last years to come. read more

Can't tell you what the service is like here because I didn't get any. Didn't even get a hello when I walked in... (that's a no no in retail) and store wasn't busy. So, when I went, for the very LAST time, was ignored along with my son and then had the cool people chatter rather than serve ...oh and serve a new customer that just walked in because the staff can't seem to see other customers... I was helped by Brian, I explained that I wanted to go as economical as possible but that I did not want to compromise fit (ski boots) over price either, didn't beat around the bush with skis, I just wanted cheap ones. Brian took his time to explain the long term and short term gains and possible drawbacks. He never struck me as pushy or impatient, I was thoroughly impressed with his genuine disposition and knowledge of the equipment. He provided me with options and also explained how to best ensure fit prior to hitting the slopes and how I could rtn equipment if my boots did not end up fitting properly (as long as i didn't scratch them or make them unsellable) . I truly felt he valued us as customer and made certain that we got what we needed for the price we wanted.
