Le chef travaillait juste en face du bar et devait même laver sa propre vaisselle pendant le service. Un cinquième des assiettes étaient directement du congélateur à la friteuse. Total assholes. We'd booked in advance with a Bongo Gift package. We arrived about 20 minutes late due to abysmal traffic entering Brussels (1,5 hours for an 18km drive). As we arrived, the boss (or maitre or whatever) said that because we were late our table had already been given away and we could come back at the end of the shift, about three hours later. Naturally, we tried to negotiate multiple times but were rebuffed most brutally and after five minutes asked to leave. We managed to get in in another, truly great, Brussels restaurant so the evening worked out just fine karmically. Imagine our surprise a few weeks later when we were informed that these unfriendly, hostile assholes had the gall to cash in on the Bongo they had cancelled themselves! They were looking forward to having the cake and eating it too (which you really can't). Obviously, even given our horrible first experience, this struck us as downright evil behaviour and so we naturally protested with Bongo. Those people took up the issue in a professional way, but the narcissistic, sociopath gangsters running the ComoComo refused to give in. In the end Bongo decided to issue another package in order to pay the other restaurant their just dues. All in all, the lesson in the tale is this: if you have appalling moral character, no integrity whatsoever and lack any intention of customer satisfaction, it does not matter whether your food is good or bad, you're getting the one star. May my words long haunt you and ultimately lead to the just demise of your unscrupulous business ethics. read more

comocomo serves PINTXOS which is a style of tapas of the Basque Country. Pintxos tapas is typically eaten with your hands. The other fun thing about comocomo is that the dishes are served on a conveyer belt just like some sushi places in Japan. The price of the dish varies by the plate color. This Spanish pintxos restaurant in the heart of Brussels is actually decent if you're looking for something different from the traditional and hearty Brussels fare. The concept is similar to that of Yo Sushi! where food goes round on a conveyor belt and you are charged based on the number of plates you eat. The only difference here is that plates are not priced individually but you are charged by the number you eat, so three plates cost 8.50 euros, six plates 14 euros and nine plates cost 19 euros. Additional pintxos are charged at 2 euros. Each plate is coloured to make it easier to identify which ones are veggie, meat, cheese, fish and of course sweet dishes. There were the usual Spanish pintxos i.e. tortilla, Argentinean beef brochettes, patatas bravas etc. but also some French influenced dishes including duck fillet, frogs legs and chestnut profiteroles. Some of the dishes were overly salted, but as my sis and I were seated in front of the chefs we carefully chose the less salted versions. I like the idea, in theory, but conveyor belt tapas really depend on the execution. We had to go get our own drinks, and a few times we ordered specific things from the menu that we didn't receive. The meal ended up being fairly expensive in the end as well. Given all that, it wasn't bad. The portions are good (for tapas) and the flavour was there. The only thing good thing about this place is their selection of Spanish wines. That's it. - Service was more than sub-par. My partner & I were there on a Friday night (usually a busy night for restaurants) but that didn't stop management from under-staffing the front & back of the house, resulting in slow service overall (from the wait staff and food coming out of the kitchen) - Portions were teeeeny--I know it's tapas, but the size of these were a joke--a very bad joke! - And flavor of the food was just... meh! - Overall, not a very good value at all--especially if you are a vegetarian (I am). - To boot, they overcharged us on the bill! I suggest going only if you want to experience the novelty of selecting your food off a conveyor belt. Be forewarned, though: you will likely leave still a bit hungry or with a lot less $ in your wallet. I will definitely NOT be going back. read more

The concept of this restaurant is original, a conveyor belt goes through the restaurant and transports the different tapas to the customer. You take whatever appeals to you and you pay for the number of plates you have taken. The colour of the plate indicates the category of the food which allows you to find out what the ingredients of the dish are. (can be retrieved written on the wall or in a booklet) The concept has some major drawbacks: *when you're at the end of the line, there's a high risk you'll always get the stuff no-one wants *some of the plates do several trips through the restaurant which means that there's a high probability that if you take such a plate at that point, it has either become cold or not fresh (soggy bread for example) Next to that the food is just not great. It's all very basic and above all very greasy. On the upside, our waitress was very nice and professional and did her very best to make sure we had a pleasant evening nonetheless. read more

Good to eat a few tapas (served per plate on a rolling belt, like sushi) with friends before a night out. Don't go here for a 3h dining experience. Personal only a fan of 1/2 of the menu, but you may always ask the kitchen for your favorite tapas. Best seat to eat is at the kitchen. I really really REALLY wanted this place to be amazing... but sadly I can't sing as many praises as I want to about it. One star for ease of making reservations: as a fan of technology, I always appreciate the capability of making online reservations. Another star for the host/server: he was very nice and was able to suggest a pretty tasty beer for the hubs. The sangria that I had was pretty darn delicious also but it was not enough to raise this place up to a 3-star review. The food was ok, I didn't really expect for some gourmet meal to happen at a conveyer belt spot so as mentioned, it was decent. What did this place in for me was the fact that the tapas/pintxos came few and far in between. It was a Saturday night with a packed house and there are only two chefs in the kitchen... to give you an idea, there was about 2-3 tapas released out on the belt every five minutes... to a restaurant that had approximately 30+ people... Needless to say, to echo the sentiments of what other Yelpers have mentioned, you're S.O.L'd if you sat far away from the kitchen when it comes to getting a plate. It should not matter where in the restaurant you sit... service should be the same, after all, you are a paying customer. And yes, we tried to ask for the dishes we wanted to try as suggested by other reviewers before the restaurant got too busy but... I think the server was so busy, he forgot. I think this place has so much potential but really lacks the man power in the kitchen to keep up with the demand. It's obvious that the thought of conveyer belt tapas/pintxos is a cool/fun dining experience, and that people want to go check it out and experience it. So, to end this review, just a small suggestion to the owner of Comocomo: please staff your kitchen enough to meet the demand and I'm pretty sure there will be more happy customers who stay rather than those who leave because they got tired of waiting for a plate to come along. Everything about this place was average. The place is not very cosy: bright lights and a lot of kids. The food goes through the entire restaurant on a little conveyor belt and you take whatever you want. Unfortunately, when you have a seat at the end of the belt, there is not a lot of choice left and you end up waiting quite a while for food. The food itself was also nothing extraordinary. Sure, it's not bad, but there are plenty of other -better- restaurants in area so that I will not be coming back. read more
