Bri was with us when I went into labor at home and because of a Florida law after waters breaking if you have a home birth and 12 hours have passed you have to relocate to the hospital to give birth. Bri was so kind enough to come with us to the hospital and stayed for the whole process including my unexpected and unplanned c-section. Not only was she knowledgeable with any questions we had in the hospital but she also gave us a sense of calm and care that we so needed during that stressful time. Bri even suited up and supported us in the operating room during the surgery. Bri even stopped by our house before we got home to drop off the placenta. Bri came to our home for a follow-up visit a few weeks after our Jack was born to answer any questions or concerns we had and to see how we were all doing. We are so lucky to have had Bri on her side and appreciate her so very much! Marie came to our home for the childbirth education course. She pulled up her slides on her computer and we connected it to our television. It was incredibly helpful to learn both home and hospital birth situations as I mentioned above we had to relocate to the hospital and make some very tough decisions. This was a two-part course so Marie came to our home on two separate occasions. Marie was also there to answer any questions we had about the birth and when baby arrived and how to care for him. As the doctors and nurses recommended various interventions, we were able to ask her opinion on them and never felt pressured to do what she suggested. She was fantastic also at following up, ensuring we were taken care of to the best of her ability. I explained to her my desire to have a VBAC, which she was very supportive of and helped calm all of my anxieties. Our communication was great all throughout my pregnancy. She came to our house a few times to meet with me and my husband to discuss any questions we had, as well as accompanied me to one of my appointments with the midwife. After my labor initially started fast and strong I began to stall and we discovered that my daughter had turned right occiput posterior. Fortunately, Mary Catherine was well-versed in "spinning babies" techniques, which ultimately helped my baby get back into the proper position and for labor to progress. She was right by my side for every contraction helping me to control my breathing, getting me in different labor positions, and using counter pressure on my back (which was AMAZING!). Without her support and knowledge I do not believe I would have been able to have the natural VBAC delivery I had hoped for. She was my rock throughout my 16 hour labor and her support was absolutely invaluable! Her services went above and beyond being a doula and encapsulating my placenta. Review from a new Father's perspective…read more High level: Jen is the single best medical professional I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She is incredible knowledgeable, thoughtful, respectful, and goes above and beyond for her patients. Detail: I didn't believe a "lactation" specialist was a necessity; oh how I was wrong! My son was born and Jen did our 24 hour check up. We luckily booked a follow up check a few days later. From the surface our baby boy was healthy and happy and latching fine... 3 days later Jen came back and found our baby was loosing weight. It turns out he had a lip and tongue tie that was impending his ability to get milk from my wife. His next formal doctors visit was a month away and we would not have known that there was an issue if it wasn't for Jen. Unfortunately, his inability to get and maintain a healthy latch caused my wife's supply to drop until it was a heart breaking struggle to get 3 drops of milk. Many would have thrown in the towel and said just use formula. But Jen was there for us, she kept working the problem. She went above and beyond for us seeing us on a holiday weekend, reaching out to her network, and taking calls when we met obstacles. She respected our wishes not to go on certain formulas. She never once belittled me for a view or concern. I've had medical professionals ignore questions or concerns and talk down to me and my wife. I have never appreciated or valued a doctors or medical professional as much or more than Jen. There have been many road bumps and many difficulties with breastfeeding for my wife for months. Things no one ever warned us about, stuff you don't see in movies. The choice to breast feed meant the world to me and my wife and Jen made it possible by not giving up and relentlessly working the problem. To be clear we still have to supplement but it is a fraction of what it could have been. Jen worked with our son to help him get a better latch and guiding us to different resources, and she worked with my wife from position, diet, to feeding/pumping schedules, everything to increase her supply. We went from getting less than 5 drops in a feed to now, my wife can produce 5+ ounces per pump. I believe that is in large part due to Jen and her support For dads out there, this is the best money you'll ever spend (or with insurance the best money you'll never spend) and the best resource we've found. We paid for it, and after not hearing from them for months, I finally demanded a refund! They emailed claiming the refund was coming, but NEVER actually sent my money back! I found them on Facebook in March of 2021 and tried sending messages and posting to their page, but they posted responses that claimed I was lying and they had sent me my money back! (I have all of the correspondence with them, and my bank records for the time as proof.) These people should be drawn and quartered for taking advantage of vulnerable, exhausted people who are about to have babies and are just looking for things we need!!! Oh and now I also can't access their Facebook page at all. Either because they have taken it down or they blocked me. I really think Facebook needs to NOT let businesses that are hurting people get away with blocking the customers they have cheated out of their money!! This is definitely more of a community than a gym…read more I signed up for a membership at the JCC North and we get four free passes a month to go to this JCC. I really wish it was closer, because I looked at the schedule of exercise classes and wow there are a lot. They are at all hours and all different types. It's phenomenal. The day I went there was some sort of coffee happy hour happening with coffee and food. It really looks like they're trying to build a community here, which is great. The woman working the front desk was so friendly. They have locker rooms that have keypads on the locks, which made them really easy to use. The towels are great and they have blow dryers, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, the standard stuff. At 5:30 p.m. on a Monday it wasn't crowded at all. The gym is on the smaller side, it wraps around the indoor track/basketball court, but for the amount of people there it doesn't seem small at all. I walked on a treadmill and used the free weights. I passed by the cafe, which had a small but mighty looking menu. I would definitely stop by and grab a bite here. I've also attended a gala and a conference here before and I found them both well done. There's tons of parking, with a guard (only one entrance off of Howard).

Additionally, if you want to hear lots of private conversations via mobile phone, you will have the opportunity to listen to rude members of this community center talk on their phones in the gym. Even though there are signs everywhere, asking members not to conduct private phone conversations on their mobile device. It is very frustrating that I pay for a membership when I cannot use the facilities due to rude people sitting on workout machines or benches while they surf the Internet on their phones or have phone conversations while not using the machines they are sitting on, preventing other members from being able to use the weightlifting machines. Additionally, the staff of the community center does nothing to prevent this from happening.
