They showed us exercises to work on then at 7 months and exercises  to work on during labor and they were very helpful and kind. Bri was with us when I went into labor at home and because of a Florida law after waters breaking if you have a home birth and 12 hours have passed you have to relocate to the hospital to give birth. Bri was so kind enough to come with us to the hospital and stayed for the whole process including my unexpected and unplanned c-section. Not only was she knowledgeable with any questions we had in the hospital but she also gave us a sense of calm and care that we so needed during that stressful time. Bri even suited up and supported us in the operating room during the surgery. Bri even stopped by our house before we got home to drop off the placenta. Bri came to our home for a follow-up visit a few weeks after our Jack was born to answer any questions or concerns we had and to see how we were all doing. We are so lucky to have had Bri on her side and appreciate her so very much! Marie came to our home for the childbirth education course. She pulled up her slides on her computer and we connected it to our television. It was incredibly helpful to learn both home and hospital birth situations as I mentioned above we had to relocate to the hospital and make some very tough decisions. This was a two-part course so Marie came to our home on two separate occasions. Marie was also there to answer any questions we had about the birth and when baby arrived and how to care for him. If you're looking for a doula team you must choose One Love Doula. They won't disappoint. They are knowledgeable, easy to work with, come to your home, and they are very sweet and compassionate and go above and beyond the call of duty. We love One Love! -Rachel, Alex, and baby Jack

Not having power was an added complication in my home birth and she went above and beyond by having 5 gallon buckets of hot water for my birthing tub, bringing extension cords and a few candles to add to my collection. She also guided me into different positions and helped my mom assist me with back massages and whatnot where she could, since she was my birthing companion. I could not have had the successful home birth I had without Candice, her love and expertise! And can't recommend her enough!

I can't say enough good things about Charlie. I was planning my second home birth when I found out…read moremy baby had some health concerns and would need to be born in a hospital. I started calling home birth midwives for doula referrals, and I was so lucky to connect with Charlie. She truly brought a piece of the home birth experience into the hospital room. Charlie was a fierce advocate, not only for me, but also an incredible source of support for my husband. She brought a sense of peace and calm to what felt like a very unknown and overwhelming situation. I felt completely safe with her by my side. Charlie helped us talk through every decision, making sure we felt informed and confident in our choices. Her support didn't end after the birth either, she consistently checked in postpartum and continued to care for our whole family. I truly can't recommend Charlie enough. She is an amazing, steady, and calming presence. Whether you're planning a home birth or just looking for strong, compassionate birth support, you are in the very best hands with Charlie. Her care extends beyond just mom, she supports the entire family.

I'm currently in the process of taking Barefoot Birth to court for money I prepaid for their…read moreservices. I made a prepayment before 36 weeks and it is not being returned. I informed them I would be transferring care at 32 weeks. I told the owner that I would pay for any prenatal appointments I went to, but she made a bill with fees I was not aware of. My invoice was the exact amount I prepaid which is very suspicious. The invoice even said my $500 deposit was a charge for some reason instead of applied to my balance like the contract states. The invoice seemed to be made in a rush and its purpose to zero out my account so they could keep my money. I will add my entire experience after court. In the meantime, if you choose this midwifery, ask them to outline their fees and what you owe after every appointment to avoid this. Overall disappointed with Charlie's (owner) handling of this issue.

I've been dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction for over 12 years and have been to every doctor, specialist, and PT out there and have never found relief like I did with Sujata and her team. She took a full body approach look at my pain and we came up with a realistic plan that I could actually manage. Between the in office sessions, stretches given to me for at home work, and reconnections for other care physicians like acupuncturists, massage therapists, and chiropractic care, I feel like I can finally breath again and manage my pain more than ever! She's also versed in somatic healing that I didn't even realize I needed but wow... it was incredible and I was able to release some experiences I didn't even know my body was still holding on to from the past. I will be continuing my care with Sujuata and recommending her and the practice to everyone I know! What I love most is how customized the care is - your pain is not cookie cutter whether you're a new mom or dealing with other experiences, help is out there. By not having an insurance-driven model, I have never felt more taken care of. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for relief.

I'm a convert of Sujata's incredible methodology…read more For 7+ years, I've been struggling with a chronic sports hernia brought on by continuing to play through (unknowingly) torn cartilage in both labrums (hips). I have tried everything possible to avoid surgery & continue to be an athlete. I've had multiple PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections by an orthopedic surgeon. Years of seeing specialists -- Dr's of PT, OT, and chiro -- all specializing in athletic injuries. My results ranged from no improvement to temporary / maintenance. And that's just what I'd begun to think my best outcome was: slow decline, despite constant treatment until I eventually landed on the wrong end of a surgical scalpel. I was connected to Sujata through family and *full disclosure* was a complete skeptic; not of her training or intelligence, of course -- I knew Sujata would be fully capable of administering the best therapeutic medicine possible -- but rather I was just mistakenly convinced the "best possible" meant a 'barely detectable outcome of incremental and intermittent pain relief. And to say I was stunned by the results is an understatement. I had never before experienced immediate relief from the dull throbbing groin pain brought on by an irritated sports hernia (rectus abdominis tissue torn/detached from the pubic ligament). This is the kind of pain that wakes you up from a deep sleep. With all prior treatment, I would experience more irritation, followed by a gradual lessening of symptoms in days 3-5 after the session. But with Sujata, in 30 mins of treatment, my pain went from a 7 out of 10 to a complete zero. ZERO. Literally the moment I walked out of the room. Sujata's deep tissue handwork was intense - a lot of massage-like pressure, a lot of bending/stretching, a lot of being instructed to let my core muscles relax (requires concentration), and a lot of being reminded to trust her. Sujata's motions are confident, deliberate, and fast but certain. I'd never experienced treatment that was so rapid, bordering on aerobic exercise but not hectic or untrained-- rather, it's a bit like watching an master chef toss a pizza, but you're the dough. I felt sensation -- heat, stretch, pressure, but never actual pain. When she was finished with her work, it was like I'd never had an injury at all. ASTOUNDING. I can't recommend Sujata enough, as someone who has gone as far as getting the surgical consultation from the orthopedist... I was out of options. But don't even listen to my review, give yourself the chance to experience ONE treatment session and make your own choice after that. If you've got a core injury, ask yourself how much easier would your life be without this pain? What could you do - physically, athletically, etc... - that you're missing out on without a successful rehab? This is a no brainer.

Since moving to Tampa, I've tried at least 3-4 highly rated places and specifically sought out prenatal massages around town. While some have been good, Sarah is truly another level. Somehow, every massage with her gets better. She is incredibly kind and personable, but beyond that, she is exceptionally trained and talented. She finds knots and areas of tension I had completely forgotten were there. She listens closely to your feedback, gets to know your body over time, and adjusts her technique accordingly. She genuinely misses nothing. I had my 39-week prenatal massage with her last week and literally came back TODAY, on my due date, because I didn't want to go anywhere else! I personally prefer a stronger, deeper-tissue massage, and Sarah delivers that exceptionally while staying completely within the appropriate safety boundaries of pregnancy. But if you prefer something gentler, she is equally attentive and will adjust to exactly what you need. And if you don't mind essential oils and fragrance, the lotions and oils she uses are incredible. I work in a highly specialized field of medicine, so I'm always especially impressed when I encounter someone who is so knowledgeable, well-trained, talented, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Sarah clearly cares about both her work and her clients, and it shows. I'll absolutely be coming back for postpartum massages -- and I'm already planning to bring my mom and husband as well! If you're looking for a prenatal or postpartum massage in Tampa, you really need to see Sarah at Baby Scene. I couldn't recommend her more highly!
