I loved having Christine at Redemption Midwifery for our birth. This was my second baby, and first home birth. She cares so much about her clients and does a great job understanding what mom wants for their birth and helps them get there! Christine is very hands-off which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for us it was exactly what we were looking for. I saw Christine for all of my prenatal care, we had the usual visit every four weeks and then as we got closer to the due date every two weeks and then every week. Visits were usually at her home office, certain visits were at my home (1st visit, 36week visit...) and if we had a scheduling issue it usually ended up with her coming to my home. The visits were short, which was fine for us. Christine always included our toddler in the visits for as much as she wanted to be included (letting her listen to baby's heartbeat or take mamas blood pressure). Christine did often run late, which was okay for us but I know that could be an issue for some. read more

Redemption Midwifery - After care of my newborn son - Midwives Near Me

Christine is so passionate about what she does and it shows! From the very beginning of my pregnancy, she provided thoughtful, attentive, and personalized care. Our hour-long visits throughout the entire nine months made me and my husband feel heard, supported, and completely confident heading into the birth of our first baby. I was able to have the peaceful and joy-filled home birth I prayed for thanks in part to her attentive care. She gave the space my husband and I needed to make decisions we felt comfortable with every step of the way and helped to make the entire experience feel safe, natural, and beautiful. Even now, postpartum, she continues to check in on me and my son with genuine care--making sure I'm healing well, adjusting emotionally, and feeling supported as a new mom. Her dedication goes far beyond the average care provider and we are so thankful for her! If you're looking for a midwife who is passionate, caring, skilled, and truly invested in your well-being, she is absolutely all of those things and more. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Christine of Redemption Midwifery for my first birth. We started care with her at 14 weeks and I am so grateful. She was very supportive of how we wanted to go through our pregnancy while educating us so that we were making choices based on informed consent the entire time. We envisioned a home birth knowing that there was always a slight chance of transferring. We labored at home as long as we could until we decided it was best for both my baby and I to go to the hospital. Christine did everything she could to support us in our home birth and when it came time to transfer she went above and beyond to continue to support us. She drove right behind us to the hospital, stayed with us until we were comfortable. By this time it was night 3 of no sleep so we all needed some rest and that's what we did and she came right back to the hospital to support us the next day. While we did everything we could to have a vaginal birth my son was just in a funky position and we wound up getting a c-section. In true Christine fashion she supported my husband and I in ways that I can't thank her enough for. Although our vision of home birth wasn't in the cards this time Christine helped me feel so empowered making each decision and supported us through the transition the way I wish every mother and spouse were supported through this experience. It didn't stop there, she came to the hospital the next day and continued to support us. She supported me postpartum going above and beyond checking in on us, giving us advice, helping me with breastfeeding, and referring us to a great Cranial Sacral Fascial Therapist. Christine's care made my entire journey feel supported and empowered no matter how tough it got. If you are looking for a midwife who listens to you, supports you, allows you to make choices based on your personal beliefs and wants, and goes above and beyond I highly recommend choosing Christine to guide and support you through your pregnancy and birth. Thank you Christine!! read more

Christine has been such an answered prayer, and blessing to me and my family. After finding out I was expecting our 4th child I started looking for a midwife in our area. I was searching for a midwife who I can trust, and one that supported informed consent, autonomy and physiological birth. Christine checked all those boxes for me. She supported me and my decisions during pregnancy and beyond. I appreciated that she encouraged me to pray for the birth I desire and didn't shut me down when I would express my hopes for my birth although my hopes were very specific. Every appointment was very thorough, and she always provided solutions for any concerns or questions that came up. The family centered care that Christine follows was such an amazing experience as well, the children were able to be involved during visits and they loved it! It was an amazing experience overall. Redemption Midwifery - Midwives Near Me

Christine has been such a blessing to our family!! We first met her as our birth assistant back in 2019 before the world lost its mind to CoViD! I was pregnant with our first born. Even before he was conceived, I began to research and educate myself on everything natural/home birth related. I am NOT a western med or hospital oriented person and I had strong convictions against giving birth in a hospital considering the ridiculous policies that were being enforced for Mama's and their families during that time. My birth plan was to have a blissful water (birth tub) experience and I knew I would need a skilled midwife by my side. Christine was a vast resource of homeopathic and natural remedies for everything pregnancy and birth related. From the very first time I met her, she and I vibed well and I knew I would be safe in her care! Christine is a professional and kind caregiver. She treats you with the utmost respect and even through my 3rd pregnancy, she would always check to make sure it was ok to touch my body before performing any type of exam. She truly embodies everything midwifery represents and its ancient history of honoring the mother's wishes/space, autonomy and divine timing between mother/baby! Thankfully, I was able to have Christine by my side for 2/3 of my babies' births and even though she wasn't present for my second birth, she still cared for my son and I during our most sacred post partum period!! My family and I are absolutely grateful for Christine's patience with us, loving and generous care and most of all, for her becoming a friend after 3 babies with her by my side!! read more

I cannot recommend Christine enough for your home birth care! Christine was my midwife for my third baby (second home birth) in February 2023. Christine is so invested in her clients and wants you to have the birth YOU want. For this pregnancy, I really wanted a relatively hands-off approach and to not be pressured into decision making, but still desired to have a medical professional present and to be monitored throughout the pregnancy. Christine was the perfect match for me. Before ever offering any testing, advice, or intervention, she would always ask, "how do you feel about this? What is your gut telling you?" She genuinely cared about ME and what I wanted. She always answered my phone calls when I had questions or concerns and was flexible in scheduling appointments around my work schedule. When labor began, roughly two weeks before my estimated due date, Christine responded with such calmness, but understood the urgency, as I have a history of precipitous labors. She made it to my house in under one hour. She brought such a gentle, peaceful presence to my birth space. I labored with my husband in our bathroom and she was close enough to be accessible without making herself KNOWN - she really just blended in to the space. When I was in transition and doubting my abilities to have an unmedicated home birth, she was the encouraging sense of comfort I desperately needed. When my baby was born into my own hands - this was very important to me, to catch my own baby - Christine observed quietly and assured me everything was as it should be and he was transitioning wonderfully. In the immediate postpartum, Christine was quiet and careful to not disturb our bonding time. She engaged with my older children in such a loving, maternal way. There was no rush to complete any tasks, exams, or paperwork. She let my family set the pace. Christine remained available to me in the days and weeks that followed the birth for any and all questions I had. Christine gave my husband and I the confidence we needed to have a beautiful home birth and empowered us to make decisions that felt right for our family. I will never stop singing her praises and referring my friends to her. Thank you Christine for all your love and care. Warmly, Lauren read more

Christine and her team were God sent! I can't stress enough how professional and attentive she was during my first birth. My baby girl was determined to be here sooner than we had expected. With her professional team and her knowledge I felt so at ease. My husband received his baby girl and until this day it's a memorable experience he will never forget. Christine is not just a midwife to us she has become family to us. We are forever thankful for this wonderful experience we had with you. read more

Christine is the real deal. My wife and I were absolutely thrilled to be working with her during the pregnancy and birth of our first child. She is knowledgeable, on the same page about holistic health, and has amazing experience. She was flexible with our situation, and very helpful in preparing us for what to expect, while also letting us figure it out ourselves without interfering in the natural process of childbirth. She is perfectly supportive, while remaining somewhat emotionally detached, which I greatly appreciated, as this allowed my wife and I to work through things together in a very intimate way. She is hands on when needed, hands off when needed, and she has great instincts and a great read on what is required, and what is not required. Gentle when she needs to be, stern when she needs to be. Professional, quick on her feet, and caring. She was instrumental in helping us decide to have a homebirth, and she genuinely made the entire experience possible. Our baby is perfect, the birth went off without a hitch, and my wife's recovery has been phenomenal. I'm convinced God brought her to us right when we needed her, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. read more

My husband and I found out we were pregnant with our first child in December 2021. So it was towards the end of the Covid Era but I still had fear of birthing in a hospital and not being allowed to have at least my husband with me. I recalled earlier that year having a conversation with another mother at a wedding we attended regarding her home birth experience. She said the sole reason she pursued a home birth was so that she could dictate her own birth, not fear potentially being alone in a hospital, and make decisions for herself with the input of her trusted midwife - mind you she gave birth mid covid. Thats when I knew I wanted to do a home birth. I wanted to be home with my husband without fear of potentially birthing alone or being coerced into accepting interventions which commonly happens in hospitals. I believe the female body was built for a natural birth experience. Birth is not a medical procedure that may occur naturally. It's a natural process that may require medical intervention - specifically for high risk patients. I am not/was not high risk. So shortly after finding out we were pregnant, I immediately started looking for midwives in the area. I interviewed 3 midwives - one of which was Christine. Not only was her approach to birth what I was looking for in a midwife (hands off and only intervene when medically necessary) but her beliefs and principles practically mirrored my own. I felt most comfortable with her on the phone and in person when interviewing midwives so my husband and I decided to pursue her. We had our regular visits and they lasted at least an hour usually - talking about everything in great detail. One thing I loved was her focus and attention to diet - she often made recommendations for adjustments and resorted to supplements as a last resort. With all my what ifs, she was always honest and said there is a possibility for worst case scenarios but that she would be with us every step of the way and help make informed decisions. And thats exactly what she did all the way to the day of birth. First time laboring and my baby girl was born under 10 hours. Christine let me do as a I pleased when I pleased with minor suggestions along the way. I labored on the toilette for the most part - not going to lie, it was my favorite place to be during contractions. About an hour or two before our baby girl arrived, Christine suggested we move to the pool because she knew thats where I ultimately wanted to birth. Originally, I wasn't into the water births but during our frequent appointments Christine suggested having one in case I wanted it - so through much research and learning the benefits of water during birth, I decided I wanted it as part of my birthing plan. My husband helped me walk to the birthing pool with frequent stops along the way as the contractions hit. Christine was there every step of the way but she let my husband and I take the lead. I felt SO much relief in the pool - I swear I entered that third dimension women often talk about during birth. Christine periodically checked our baby's heart beat in between contractions as to make sure she didn't interrupt my focus mid contraction. She was very attentive to my contractions and could tell I was pushing before I even realized I was (mind you I was in that third dimension of pure bliss). Not once did she interfere or put her hands on me or touch my baby crowing - it was all me. When my baby was finally earth side, I received her and pulled her to my chest and sat there in the pool just taking it all in. She focused on my contractions and being attentive to me birthing my placenta on my own. Our baby didn't have the easiest first few minutes earth side - she was breathing but wasn't getting a full breath as expected. Christine was very attentive to her and worked with her on her breathing - she even capped her time on assisting our little girl and would call for transfer if she didn't start breathing fully. But Christine remained calm the entire time and our baby girl finally was getting full breaths after much help from Christine. My husband, Christine and her wonderful assistant, Marilyn, helped me carry my baby and walk to our bedroom to get comfortable. While my husband and I laid in bed with our baby girl, Christine and Marilyn cleaned up EVERYTHING, prepped a nutritious meal/snack for us and inspected my placenta. She examined me for any tears which I had NONE - and firmly believe it was partly due to birthing in the pool which she had highly recommended but NEVER forced. I had THE best experience birthing our first child and I cannot thank Christine enough for making ME feel EMPOWERED. She ALWAYS gave her honest opinion and stated ANY risks but left the decision up to ME. I knew that if anything went "wrong" I'd have her support and guidance. I firmly believe I would not have had the same experience in a hospital. I highly recommend Christine if you are looking for a midwife and want to feel EMPOWERED. read more

I'm so grateful for Christine and her birth assistant Connie Rae for a truly redemptive birth experience I had with my second baby. I never thought I would even consider a home birth but at 37 weeks when I realized I really didn't want to repeat a hospital birth, I met Christine. From the moment I met her, I felt heard and safe. She gave me hope for a redemptive birth I so wanted after my unpleasant hospital birth experience with my first born. She gave me so much peace picturing my birth at home and I was actually excited about birth! Christine's holistic approach and her faith in God which my family share were big pluses for me. As it was such a last minute switch we only had a couple of prenatal appointments but the in home appointments were so wonderful. Not to mention she was so sweet with my 2 year old as she let her "help" with some things during the visits as well as at birth! The baby came at 39 weeks and Christine was there with perfectly calming and confident presence supporting me during my short labor. She helped me bring me down to earth when I was in transition and I'll always remember her gentle but firm voice behind me encouraging and coaching me. Finally getting to hold the baby in my arms with my husband and toddler by my side was truly life changing. The hours after were so precious and Christine and Connie Rae were there to celebrate, clean and provide the aftercare needed. Christine exudes knowledge, passion and care for the work she does and I loved every conversation we had as I learned more about pregnancy and birth (and I still do)! I highly recommend home births to anyone with a low risk pregnancy and to have redemption midwifery in your corner through that journey. When I look back, my only regret is that I didn't make the decision on the home birth and meet Christine sooner to start the care with her! Thank you Christine! read more

Christine was very professional, gentle and at the same time very strong during my home birth. Birth of my daughter was a bit longer than expected due to her having hand on her cheek, therefore by the time I had to push I was very tired, however Christine guided me and helped me birth my baby without any medications and tears! Magical experience that I will always remember! Thank you!!! read more

If you're desiring a midwife to do your care during pregnancy and postpartum, Christine is the perfect choice, if you want a midwife who respects and honors natural physiological labor, respects you and your choices and is genuinely the kindest person out there who cares so deeply for her clients and their families then look no further. I had the honor of working with Christine in 2023, the care she provided me is totally unmatched to anything I have ever experienced in my life it is beyond what I could have ever dreamed of. During my pregnancy I was hospitalized in another state on a quick visit to see family, Christine was always there for me checking in with me to see how I was doing and what those doctors were doing, she was super quick to get records and have a plan of action that aligned with my own desires for my healthcare and she had natural homeopathy solutions for absolutely everything which I loved!! During all my prenatal visits she engaged my older 4 year old son and included him in the process and teaching him and allowing him to help her. The care she provides in just the prenatal visits alone is absolutely beyond what you will ever find elsewhere, she takes her time with you and you never feel rushed, plus if something comes up and you have questions you can always reach her directly you never go through a third party after hours line or what they usually do at most OB offices. Christine genuinely cares about her clients, I had a previous csection and she never gave me any doubt in my ability to birth my baby she never made me feel scared or nervous at all, she always was encouraging and respectful and loving, I am almost certain if I birthed in a hospital I would have ended up in the OR for a repeat csection and it would have been unnecessary. Christine and her assistant Lacy are both absolute angels, they were amazing during my 24hour labor they were patient and gentle with me they looked after my son while my husband and I were working through contractions, they stayed with my son until my in laws could drive in from out of state to look after him, she was so sweet and understanding and always offered solutions to any issues that arouse, she always gave me many options and honored my wishes with whatever I decided to do. I will never stop being grateful to know her and have had her in my life, the way she cares has completely changed my life in more ways than I can express even beyond the 6 week postpartum visit Christine has become such a wonderful person in my life that I will forever be thankful for. She is the true definition of with Woman, she is with you and she is for you and is always wanting you to get the birth you desire. read more

Writing this review as I am missing Christine as my former midwife! In 2022, I had the wonderful privilege of receiving Christine's care with my second pregnancy and first at home birth. With my first child, I delivered him in a birthing center and soon knew that if the Lord allowed for another pregnancy, I would appreciate delivering at home. During the prenatal care that I received from Christine, I couldn't wait for our next appointment. We had lovely chats and it was soon a friendship! My husband and 2 year old were able to tag along with me to my appointments and the environment created was so inviting. Christine was caring, incredibly informative, protective and understanding of me and my decisions. I truly appreciate her understanding of my personal preference which involved my labor being a little more hands off than what I received at the birthing center. When I needed Christine's guidance, direction and support during the hard parts of labor she was there with help, suggestions and instruction. She is a well spring of knowledge, especially regarding naturopathic remedies. I received plenty of aid and relief in this way, especially after birth. I found a lot of comfort and peace in being able to trust Christine and her experience at a midwife. Sarasota is so lucky to have such a wonderful midwife in their neck of the woods! read more

I am so grateful to have been introduced to Christine. Unfortunately, when we first connected for prenatal care my pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. She stayed connected with me, and I felt supported and loved throughout the painful and emotional ordeal. She is incredibly generous with her time! I managed everything at home and with her support and guidance. When I found myself pregnant again months later, she was THRILLED. She involved our other children in the whole experience from our first prenatal appointment where my 3 & 9 year old listened to our baby's heartbeat. She always respected my wishes and had supportive bedside manner no matter what we wanted or didn't want in our care plans. She even created a beautiful gender reveal experience for our family. She goes above and beyond! When we finally arrived at birth day, even though it was my 4th, I still wasn't sure that it was "it". She insisted on coming over to check anyway and found me in the tub. During labor, she was the perfect blend of supportive, hands off, encouraging, and comforting. I was able to find calm in her energy and confidence. We had already talked through all worst case scenarios in advance and I was totally comfortable with our contingency plans if we needed them. Thank God, everything was smooth and wonderful. My younger kids were home and they had an amazing life science lesson learning all about the birth process, inspecting my placenta, and participating in their baby sister's first exam. She and her amazing assistant took care of everything! We used homeopathic remedies to manage postpartum pain. She was back the next 2 days to check in on us. We had visits with either she or her assistant regularly through 6 weeks. I followed her postpartum instructions and even though I was over 40 & on my 4th, it was the easiest and smoothest postpartum recovery I'd ever experienced. The 6 week appointment was sad for me because it marked the end of our care together. Even now, she remembers the day we lost our little angel and she reaches out on our baby's birthday. If I find myself brave enough to add another baby, we might have to move to Sarasota so Christine can support us again. read more

Christine and her team were such a Godsend! After a traumatic birth with our last baby, we were searched high and low and interviewed LOTS of midwives before settling on Christine. She was so kind and gentle, she provided informed consent and decision making with every decision along the way! We talked through various emergencies and how they'd be handled. She ALWAYS asked before she touched me. She knew I didn't want any vaginal exams unless they were truly medically necessary and respected my choices every step of the way. She answered all my texts and calls and concerns with kindness and compassion, she always gave me her attention and made us feel like we were a priority! I had a lot of anxiety after my last birth and she was always so reassuring and calm. She took extra time to process with me, pray with me and be there whenever I needed reassurance. She really cares about her clients and goes above and beyond. Midwifery care is built on relationship and she invests in getting to know her clients, what's important to you, what your fears are, working through them and coming up with a plan that meets your needs. She is holistic minded and very knowledgeable about alternate therapies. She is well known and loved in the community, skilled and highly sought after. Our birth was such a REDEEMING one! I am so thankful for her care and forever grateful for the care she gave me and our family! read more
