She cares so much about her clients and does a great job understanding what mom wants for their birth and helps them get there! Christine is very hands-off which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for us it was exactly what we were looking for. I saw Christine for all of my prenatal care, we had the usual visit every four weeks and then as we got closer to the due date every two weeks and then every week. Visits were usually at her home office, certain visits were at my home (1st visit, 36week visit...) and if we had a scheduling issue it usually ended up with her coming to my home. The visits were short, which was fine for us. Christine always included our toddler in the visits for as much as she wanted to be included (letting her listen to baby's heartbeat or take mamas blood pressure). Christine did often run late, which was okay for us but I know that could be an issue for some.

I trusted her skill set and enjoyed her charisma. She helped me put together my birth team, recommended pediatricians, and even gave me the confidence to have a home birth (I'm a first time mom). I really like her holistic ideology. In a twist of events Zul wasn't able to deliver my baby due to various moms being in labor at the same time. However, her commitment to my care was unparalleled. She came after she was done delivering that baby and took over my care. It was everything I thought having a midwife would be.

TL/DR: Nightmare scam artist. Spend the money for a quality doula…read more The worst experience we could have possibly fathomed. Ashly is a complete scam artist. She meets with couples, pretends to care about their desires, gets $100 retainer (and any amount you choose to out toward her $900 fee) and proceeds to push her own agenda until things are so awkward you have to fire her. She will then refuse to refund any money you've given her. She uses the guise of providing "researched suggestions" that sound alarmingly like a high school student using made up statistics to win an internet battle. She told us she would support any of our personal decisions and was there only to make the process more comfortable. Based on that, we hired her. When she met with us, she spent two minutes talking about comfort techniques and 30 minutes equating circumcision to a murderous practice of male-dominated society. We were shocked but told her we would make the decision by ourselves and to move on. She continued talking about it to the point where it was uncomfortable. If you are unfamiliar, a good doula will not ever make you feel uncomfortable (our replacement was perfect). Weeks later, we contacted her to make sure she could maintain professionalism in the delivery room despite us not holding her views. She responded with a new attack on anyone that chooses circumcision and more "statistics" about circumcision causing many infant deaths - something the hospital even refuted. That was the end. She is wolf in sheeps clothing that will promise everything at the initial meeting and proceed on a scare-tactic crusade for her own extreme worldview. Before she showed her true colors, we recommended her to some friends. They were also scammed. She promised them everything, got their money, and shifted gears to her own ends until they fired her for changing her tune about epidurals - no refund. She argued with them about circumcision despite them having a girl. She is bizarrely opinionated about anything but providing a quality service. We did not receive a single helpful moment but lost hundreds of dollars. Zero stars - do yourself a favor and get anyone else. A bum on the street would be a better value.
