Golden Square - Walking around Btrust Supermarket

Golden Square

The latter is inside Red Lotus Restaurant. I was here with my friend late last week looking for bubble tea. There is a lot of parking at Golden Square, both in the back and in front of the BTrust Supermarket, which is a massive supermarket. When I pulled into this plaza, I saw a Chinese arch. It wasn't as amazing as the original one set up in Mississauga, but it was still cool. We cut through BTrust to get to Lucky Tea. I liked what I saw. It has veggie plants. You can basically plant and grow your veggies, melons, and more in your backyard. I was impressed seeing large bottles of Pei Pa Koa at this supermarket. Over two years ago, there was a shortage of this medicinal syrup that has been my go-to medicine when I have a sore throat or a phlegmy, nasty cough, or both. Red Lotus Restaurant houses Lucky Tea. There were a handful of diners enjoying their meals in the restaurant. We got yogurt-based drinks that were delicious from Lucky Tea. The only catch was that half the menu was unavailable. CoCo may be your better bet to have everything available on the menu. I'd like to dine at restaurants in this plaza in future. There's a mix of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Singaporean, and Malaysian eateries. I like the variety. It was nice checking this plaza out. I hope to return to discovery more of it. (157)

Like Stephanie S states, this is the unofficial Chinatown of Mississauga. The official one (way…read moreback when) used to be on Dundas and Cawartha but it's quite run down and old now though the architecture is quite nice. Back to Golden Square - if this plaza were in Scarborough, Markham or Richmond Hill, it'd be more of 2.5 starts than 3 stars IMO. However, given the lack of the options in Mississauga, this place gets 3 stars as it does the job for one stop Asian shopping because: a) It has plenty of restaurants to choose from including Chinese family style, Chinese fast food, Korean, Singaporean/Malaysian, and Japanese b) There's a large grocery store called BTrust, which has okay prices and some quick hot food plus a bakery. c) There's the Chinese version of Giant Tiger which is called "Best Shop". d) There are some other miscellaneous stores, most of which are owned/operated by Cantonese people. It's not a tourist destination or anything but if you live in Mississauga and need to do one stop grocery shopping and eating, this is not a bad plaza. Tip: It's better to park in the back (Erindale station entrance) than the front (Central Parkway entrance) because it can get quite hectic in the front.

Chinguacousy Wellness Centre - Kettle ball rack

Chinguacousy Wellness Centre

All's well at Chinguacousy Wellness…read more I went here for the first time a couple weeks ago and actually had a great time. My gf took me here because her pass at Goodlife expired and tbh my expectations were low but this place made quite an impression on me. All the gym equipment is in the middle of the room and there is a track that goes around it. It's neat how they managed to incorporate a track like that because now you never have to wait for a treadmill. At the corners of the track, there are spaces to do stretches/mattress exercises. The best part is the huge windows that allow lots of natural light to come in. The one thing I didn't like about the Goodlife in BCC is that it is in a basement and there are zero windows. So it was great to walk into Wellness Centre and be able to absorb that vitamin D while working out. To top it off, they lemon flavoured water that you can choose to drink if you get tired of regular water! Yeah, I really liked this place. The only negative would be that it's still a pretty small gym compared to the Goodlife gym nearby (main competitor). The great set up of the equipment kind of makes up for the smaller space but I find there's a bit more wait time for the equipment during peak hours than at Goodlife. Overall fantastic gym, I was impressed.
