They should list it in the magazine though anyway so more people know. Having been to other branches, I do feel envy at how big they are. Sure you could have books delivered to the branch, but it's nice to be able to just go in and pick a book off the shelf.

There are three floors, the first is mostly for kids and teens, the second and third for quiet-er study and reading. Lots of tables, books, and comfy chairs means there is always a place available. If you can't find something you're looking for through the catalogue, ask a librarian, they are all very friendly and know where to find everything. The library has a huge collection of books, DVDs, government reference materiels, newspapers, magazines, board games, historial-London documents, decades of newspapers on microfilm, music, accessible reading materiels, computers, unemployment services, etc. If you are getting hungry or need a caffeine boost, a Little Red Roaster is on the first floor and offers decent coffee and snacks. I have been bothered once or twice by creepy strangers, but I've also been a camp counsellor watching 20 kids at a time run around the library and read books - so I have no doubt about it being a very safe place and library security is very helpful and available.

I walked in and a guide was talking to a group of visitors and he informed me he would be right with me and I waited in the entrance. A guide came to greet me in a few minutes and started to talk to me about Banting and take me through each room. I prefer to walk through museums on my own and read the information but the narrative was ok when I had questions. Another guide came that was more familiar and soon, she was the only guide. They told me I could come back and read in more details. It was like a Cole's notes for those who might not have time or want to read the information on the panels. We went through each room downstairs and then upstairs where there was a bedroom that is darker to preserve the wallpaper and this is the room that Banting slept in. It gave me an understanding and appreciation for the history of insulin and how it how positively impacted millions of people. At the end of the tour there's a map where you can put a pin on the map where you're from and to pay. There's also public washrooms there.

Imagine how it would change a child's life to be able to try out such a piece of machinery. They offer so many helpful services. You can browse for items online and put holds on them. When you go into the library they will have your items set aside. You can check them out yourself or one of the very helpful staff will do it for you. Big selection of DVDs and CDs including recent releases. Lots of interesting programming options such as computer classes and meditation. Art exhibits, too.
