They have a great website and an app to help you find a box. Arriving- This box is on the Northbound side of US Route 27 and is beside a boat landing parking lot, a picnic area, and a Mexican restaurant. They are a snap to find and park. The Box- This one is nothing fancy and is Charter #16803 in their system. It is very well mounted as it should be to withstand Florida's hurricane season! It was packed with books of all types. There were thrillers, romance novels, young adults, paperbacks and hard covers and even children's books. It was so packed that I had trouble adding a couple of books that I donated myself. There was truly something for everyone and they're free! How to Help- Check their website. Find the closest box and donate. There's lots more you could do if you really get into it! Be sure to download their app that has lots of cool features. Conclusion- This is one of those organizations that needs 10 stars! Enough said! This box itself is in great shape and overstuffed with books so 5 stars!

This one was installed back in February 2013 as part of a service learning project by students in the Sunrise Leadership Academy. The Little Free Library movement started in Wisconsin in 2009. By installing little bookshelves in communities, the "librarians" hope to promote literacy and the love of reading, as well as a sense of neighborhood, by building free book exchanges worldwide. The concept is "Take a Book, Leave a Book." You are welcome to drop off your gently used books, and to help yourself to anything that catches your fancy. It's a library with no late fee! This one, built right by the playground in the park, is in a great location. I can imagine parents and children checking out the books, after an energetic hour in the playground. However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of usage though. Most of the time I pass by the library (repurposed from a newspaper stand) is rather empty. Hopefully more people will discover and use this little gem!

As I'm trimming down my own home library, I'd already dropped those books at other libraries so today it was a browse and take opportunity. This library was very well stuffed with mostly children's books but some fiction and non-fiction too. The former library biography of Abraham Lincoln was my choice today. These aren't "borrow" books like they are at the regular library - these are FREE. Perfect for beach reading! The library box is located at the south end of the boardwalk of Oceanfront Park. The box is white and beige and has a single door. Mostly soft covers and some thin books today. A wide variety including the one that based the movie The Help and a Dean Koontz. There is limited parking here, but you will be able to park against the curb on Andrews Road. The larger library is on a single post and has one door secured with a twist catch. Inside are two shelves. Most of the books are hardcovers lying on their side but the paperbacks were easy to spot. Some fiction, some thriller, a copy of the great Charlotte's Web and some mystery novels. Great options. This is charter number 80598. The front…read moredoor wasn't secured when I arrived so the three books inside were quite wet from leaking rain. Bummer. Fortunately, only three books. The box is pained a pretty free color with a single clear door. It stands on a four legged table and is easily accessible. Hopefully, the next patrons close the door properly. Not much inside today and they were wet so I tidied and moved on. This is charter number 16940. There is not a published steward but the online caption reads, "This library was sponsored by the City of Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Department environmental recreation and Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program to promote reading outdoors, and provide books about the local environment.
