    Rooftop pool for members
    May-May R.

My husband is a member and I took a tour of The Common House during an open house/dog adoption event. What a beautiful space! From the moment I walked in, I immediately felt at home. There were friendly staff members saying hello to us like we were old friends. Each floor has reservable conference rooms, open work spaces, and a kitchen stocked with coffee. I also loved that they have a restaurant and rooftop pool available for members. When visiting, the third floor had a fire going with cozy lighting in the library area...a perfect vibe to knock out some emails! If you meet with clients/need a place to work on a frequent basis...I'd check out The Common House!

Common house is a social space -- it's a cool spot for good food, drinks, and networking even if you're not member. I am not but have been to several events here. Staff is always friendly & warm. My fave spots are the theater for an event screening, or the downstairs courtyard on a nice summer night.

Everything is really good! I came here with my girl friends during restaurant week. The food and drinks did take a while to come out but the waitress was very sweet and made sure that she got our orders right. I did ask for my steak so be medium rare but as you can see in the picture it was very much well done. I did ask for my steak to be made again and the waitress was really nice about it and it was quick! The environment was super cute and fancy but I didn't feel like I needed to seriously dress up. I had the chocolate cake for dessert... it was not my favorite, it could use a little more flavor. I also tired my sister's lemon bar and thought the same thing it didn't really taste like much. Food and drinks were delicious but I wouldn't go too crazy for their dessert.

I don't have the type of job that anyone would enjoy listening to in public (I talk all day long), nor do I have the disposable income for a membership, but I can see how Common House would be considered a great value for those who can cowork in their careers. I visited recently on 804 Day, as they were open to the public. It was nice to check out their different cozy rooms and the rooftop bar. I didn't try their food, but the menus looked tasty. The drink I had was potent, and it's definitely not the cheapest cocktail option out there. They include tip automatically, though they didn't disclose as such. I noticed it on my bill but my friends who paid first didn't, and they weren't super pleased to have double-tipped. I'd go back again sometime on a day when they're open to the public.

I love being a member at Common House. I work remotely and am so grateful to have a coworking space that doubles as a social club. Their event offerings and space are incredible. My favorite amenity is the movie room. It's cool to have a fancy screening room for some evening fun with friends. I also adore their rooftop and pool during warmer months. Every floor has something for someone. When I want to get work done, I hang out on the second or third floor. When I'm looking for some afterwork activities, you can find me on the first floor, the fourth floor, the rooftop, or the basement. I especially enjoy the pool table on the fourth floor. They have pretty good food here too. I'm not sure what happened, but my recent meals here haven't been as good as previous ones. The food is still pretty good though. Where they really shine for me is their cocktails. They have some fun signature ones as well as tasty classics. They also have Birdie's attached if you're looking for a tasty oyster bar or more cafe drinks. If you're looking for a coworking space, I highly recommend checking out Common House.

It all started when I was looking to host a happy hour on a roof top bar last October. I called the Quirk Hotel and they were booked the evening I was looking for but then referred me the the "Common House"? I'd never heard of it. Made a call and 24 hours I had a tour of the roof top bar and the entire facility. Shared workspace is how many have described it. Selling it short for sure. Others have had some critical comments in the different bands for membership (students, young professionals, professionals). I call it a GENIUS idea delivered EXCEPTIONALLY well. Is it a shared workspace? Yes. But it's so much more. It's community, it's an escape, it's convenience. The members of the community that I've met are friendly and theirs a certain affinity for productivity while there that helps me for my day job. The energy is contagious. The staff are such an intricate part of the day to day. Good people, delivering great service. It's an escape in that it's a break from the suburban life tucked in the city in almost a speak easy fashion. I love that it's there but it's almost hidden too. CONVENIENCE! I meet with partners from my day job on the daily. If I'm in town I'm posted up there. I also have started the weekend there in their bar and restaurant with family and friends the 4th floor. ALL who have come have been so impressed. I'm only a month in. Really happy I chose this and waited a month before I reviewed it. I'm only scratching the surface of the capabilities of The Common House. - Business Development Professional

I love coming to this social club. The staff and service is always on point. You do need to be a member to enjoy the building and events but they do have many chances for you to come see if you like it before becoming a member. This was my second open house event I attended. I enjoyed some complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a wine tasting on their rooftop. I was also able to sample their spring dinner menu. Get the salmon! It's so fresh and light but also flavorful.

Great coworking space in addition to have some awesome snacks and an awesome rooftop. They also have great rental spaces as well and regularly host member events! Highly recommend becoming a member here

My wife and I tried the restaurant, it was expensive, but some of the best food! We loved and would go again anytime as a date night. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner. The staff was wonderful as well from the front desk and throughout the entire place.

I separated the dogs but the owner of the offending dog was extremely rude. My dog is playful and not aggressive and I watched this other dog instigate and bully my dog. I watched this dog get into fights with several other dogs as well. We cancelled our memberships and did not go back until this month. Within 5 minutes of being there, the same dog that had tried to fight my dog last time came up to my dog and was trying to fight with him. I ran over and snatched my dog away and the instigating dog set his eyes on another victim. I appreciate the referees at Ruff as they came over to make sure that he was OK. The manager, however, was not helpful at all and said that there was nothing that they could do. We were there for less than 5 minutes. At the very least the manager could have refunded our day pass as my dog clearly did not get to enjoy the park. The park is a great concept but management needs to step in when dogs are consistent offenders. It is not fair to all of the other dogs that play nicely to have a bully ruin it for everyone else. We will not be returning.

I am truly speechless!…read more I decided to treat myself to a Self-Care Saturday, and as a mental health therapist, I know I don't do that nearly as often as I should. After hearing about Skin HC from a friend, I decided to stop by, and lucky me--they had just begun their soft opening. I will say, I am very picky, but I honestly can't believe how amazing this space is. It is not only beautifully decorated, but the service was absolutely superb from start to finish. I was greeted by name and welcomed with delicious spa water, which immediately made me feel cared for. I then settled into the Release Massage, and my therapist was probably the best I've ever had--so professional, skilled, and accommodating. After my service, I was offered a turmeric ginger tea of my choice, which was such a thoughtful touch. The owner also came over and was so welcoming, inclusive, and excited to share details about everything they offer. She shared that her vision is to build community, and that truly warmed my heart. She even introduced me to their pillow room, which was absolute heaven. I truly cannot say enough about this little slice of heaven. They absolutely have a customer for life! No issue at all. And upon following up to confirm, Josh contacted me promptly and guided me through selecting the Hammam and the Sculpt facial. I ended up making my appointment day a "me" day to usher in October and a new season, a Birthday treat for myself. The Hammam was what I most wanted. I feel like Josh really listened to what I wanted and guided me not only as far as treatments but ensured I knew exactly what was entailed, what enhancements I could add such as the foot scrub, eucalyptus bush and head wash. Don't skip any of these :-). He also advised that I could stick around as long as I wanted after and that I would be served miso soup after and could opt for a cocktail. Upon arrival, I was welcomed into an amazingly inviting space. And the aroma, lighting, it was transportive. No devices are allowed which is great! You leave your cares at the door literally. The decor and music is such a mood. Everyone is so attentive, my belongings were taken and secured, I was given footwear to change into and I was offered a beverage and to just chill. I was greeted by Lexxy who walked me thru what to expect with my Hamaam. I love that she sat down and took care to explain the treatment, what she'd be doing and made sure I was comfy instead of rushing me to the treatment. Hamamm is such an intimate experience, comfort is a MUST. As beautiful as the lobby is, the treatment rooms are GORGEOUS and the Hamaam room is dreamy. The patina and the window OMG. The treatment was just divine and I can write a book on the act of surrendering to just being nurtured and cared for and letting go of inhibitions and insecurities and how you feel empowered and just grateful for the vessel that is your body. The dry brush and the bubble blanket were my fave features. But an amazing experience overall, I don't know the last time I felt so catered to. I love that time is extended after to just sit with yourself. I was given a robe to chill before being introduced to Breezy who did my sculpt facial. So sweet and she approached treatment the same which was great b/c what I selected wasn't entirely what I thought so we made a slight adjustment. But she is awesome and such great knowledge and expertise. After I was done, I legit felt like a whole, new person. EXACTLY what I wanted. Every expectation was exceeded. I made the trek from DC and so worth it. And to my surprise they offered me to chill in the pillow room. I didn't even know they had this room! Now I wanna replicate at home LOL! Breezy showed me in and stayed for great conversation regarding implementing practices at home. Josh politely served my soup and tea in there. It was amazing. I wasn't rushed out and probably stuck around for a good hour talking to Josh and shopping their retail area which I really enjoyed. 2 pairs of shoes, incense and pins later, I finally got out of there but not before saying bye and thanking all of them immensely for the service and for being such good stewards and making me feel welcome. I highly recommend and can't wait to return.

We learned that this location has more service than the one we're familiar with. They'll fill your water for you vs self service. There are two floors to work on and a rooftop. We chose to work in the kitchen space on the second floor. The design and decor here is gorgeous. I found myself wishing I could take some of the artwork home. Just like our Common House back in Richmond, they offer member events. They sounded so fun I considered driving back to Cville just to experience them. While we were there, we ordered some food. The food we got was beyond delicious. I'd argue even better than the RVA food. The menus vary based on location. I got a delicious miso salmon bowl. My body was craving something like it and I was thrilled when I found out how delicious it tasted. My boyfriend got a grilled cheese and loved each bite. When you're a member you usually get a $25 credit for your birthday (which we used towards lunch), however this location went above and beyond and brought Richard a complimentary chocolate cheesecake without blinking twice. However, this past year things really started going downhill. There has been a huge staff turnover, including several staff members who were really the life and soul of the place. Common House has not been able to keep a chef for more than a few months, which has lead to a lot of hit or miss dining experiences. The free coffee, which was a big perk during coworking days, is no more. There have also been several private events that caused full house closures to members. The final nail in the coffin for me was having my membership fee raised not once but twice over the course of a year. The first time ($25 increase) I was given ample notice. The second I was given no notice and just saw an additional $35 on my credit card. When I inquired about why my monthly membership fee had been increased I was given no response. With this, I decided my time at Common House has run its course and canceled my membership. This has seemed like the perfect "third space" for remote young professionals like myself, but it seems that in the last few months several others have had the same thoughts I had and decided to leave. It will always be a cool space, but the current management leaves a lot to be desired.
