The Common House is soooooo cute! I came here for a business lunch with some colleagues and was not at all disappointed... I mean check out the photos! We started out with some truffle fries and they were great, a must get. For lunch I had the Greek Falafel plate. Not only was the presentation gorgeous but it had a generous portion of hummus and tzatziki. It was full of crispy chickpeas to give a little crunch. The sweet peppers, rainbow carrots, and broccolini were roasted to perfection and full of flavor. The watermelon radish added a gorgeous splash of color and the feta spread throughout . The plate was served with a side of za'atar naan that was a burst of spice and completely complimented the meal. Then to top it off.... Beautiful flowers to add more color and elegance. The service was prompt and kind the entire time! Our colleague showed us around the place after our meal and the theme to me definitely is making people feel welcome and special. It's the little touches that matter, like the beautiful artwork extending from the first floor to the top floor in the stairwell. This was my second time visiting this location for an event, but my first time ordering food. I use the QR code ordering system and it was super easy to place the order on my phone. I chose the beef stew and the fried chicken wrap with french fries. I did make a note to exclude peas if there were any from the beef stew. But I was a little surprised when it came because it was more Like a chili, which I love. It was very, very tasty, but didn't seem like an actual stew. The fried chicken wrap was very good. I loved the amount of chicken that came with and it also had bacon. I would just recommend them to possibly have the wrap wrapped in either foil or wax paper because as I was eating, the bottom was starting to come apart (likely due to the sauce on the inside). My husband is a member and I took a tour of The Common House during an open house/dog adoption event. What a beautiful space! From the moment I walked in, I immediately felt at home. There were friendly staff members saying hello to us like we were old friends. Each floor has reservable conference rooms, open work spaces, and a kitchen stocked with coffee. I also loved that they have a restaurant and rooftop pool available for members. When visiting, the third floor had a fire going with cozy lighting in the library area...a perfect vibe to knock out some emails! Everything is really good! I came here with my girl friends during restaurant week. The food and drinks did take a while to come out but the waitress was very sweet and made sure that she got our orders right. I did ask for my steak so be medium rare but as you can see in the picture it was very much well done. I did ask for my steak to be made again and the waitress was really nice about it and it was quick! The environment was super cute and fancy but I didn't feel like I needed to seriously dress up. I had the chocolate cake for dessert... it was not my favorite, it could use a little more flavor. I also tired my sister's lemon bar and thought the same thing it didn't really taste like much. As a remote employee, I am always on the hunt for good spaces to go. I stopped in here on the weekend and was pleased to see they still have fresh coffee and plenty of tea options in the coworking space. This place is massive with a restaurant that is open to the public on the group floor and the top. It has a full bar and QR codes on the coworking tables so you can get food delivered directly to your seat. They have a little kitchen on the floor so you can stash your food and plenty of private phone booths. The private offices looked really nice and the staff were all so sweet. It is a great value for the membership and I loved the option of working by one of the massive windows or from the roof. I wish more places had plugs on the rooftop. I wish the shared tables had a few more outlets, but such is any public space and I always travel with so many plugs. read more

I don't have the type of job that anyone would enjoy listening to in public (I talk all day long), nor do I have the disposable income for a membership, but I can see how Common House would be considered a great value for those who can cowork in their careers. I visited recently on 804 Day, as they were open to the public. It was nice to check out their different cozy rooms and the rooftop bar. I didn't try their food, but the menus looked tasty. The drink I had was potent, and it's definitely not the cheapest cocktail option out there. They include tip automatically, though they didn't disclose as such. I noticed it on my bill but my friends who paid first didn't, and they weren't super pleased to have double-tipped. I'd go back again sometime on a day when they're open to the public. read more

What a fabulous coworking space! My colleague is a member and when I went to visit for a Richmond event recently, she added this spot to our rotation of places we had to check out. We popped in for a bit of coworking and I absolutely loved the vibe. I can see why she raves about being a member here, as not only is it a very nice space to work but it is also extremely community driven. Common house offers programming for its members, and seems like a generally cool spot to hang even if you aren't working. While there are multiple floors and you can reserve different private spaces, we opted for a floor that was more shared desk space. There is a lot of natural light, and the decor is more like someone's cool apartment vibes versus a sterile office environment. They also have a nice little kitchen with coffee and a fridge to store your lunch/snacks. While I am not super familiar with the area, it does seem very centrally located and it was just a quick 5 min walk to my hotel. Would definitely recommend if I lived in the area and grateful to Lena M for taking me to cowork here! read more

My friend graciously brought me here for my birthday and we spent a good part of the day here. The decor is so trendy and the manager during the day was super nice. We enjoyed some pool and some rose along with eating the cake we brought. They do charge a cake cutting fee but service was quick. The only loss is star was dinner. The service was great and the space was trendy but the food was just OK. The cheese platter came out with 3 pieces of bread. I attended a Brunch at Common House and it was such a perfect location for that. The room is well lit by a huge ray of sun coming in through the top of the windows and the set up was really comfortable. They also have a patio that was really nice. It makes you want to find a reason to have an event, just to use this room. I plan to go back for a tour of the upstairs location to possibly do an event there with my non-profit organization in the future. read more

I love being a member at Common House. I work remotely and am so grateful to have a coworking space that doubles as a social club. Their event offerings and space are incredible. My favorite amenity is the movie room. It's cool to have a fancy screening room for some evening fun with friends. I also adore their rooftop and pool during warmer months. Every floor has something for someone. When I want to get work done, I hang out on the second or third floor. When I'm looking for some afterwork activities, you can find me on the first floor, the fourth floor, the rooftop, or the basement. I especially enjoy the pool table on the fourth floor. They have pretty good food here too. I'm not sure what happened, but my recent meals here haven't been as good as previous ones. The food is still pretty good though. Where they really shine for me is their cocktails. They have some fun signature ones as well as tasty classics. They also have Birdie's attached if you're looking for a tasty oyster bar or more cafe drinks. If you're looking for a coworking space, I highly recommend checking out Common House. read more

It all started when I was looking to host a happy hour on a roof top bar last October. I called the Quirk Hotel and they were booked the evening I was looking for but then referred me the the "Common House"? I'd never heard of it. Made a call and 24 hours I had a tour of the roof top bar and the entire facility. Shared workspace is how many have described it. Selling it short for sure. Others have had some critical comments in the different bands for membership (students, young professionals, professionals). I call it a GENIUS idea delivered EXCEPTIONALLY well. Is it a shared workspace? Yes. But it's so much more. It's community, it's an escape, it's convenience. The members of the community that I've met are friendly and theirs a certain affinity for productivity while there that helps me for my day job. The energy is contagious. The staff are such an intricate part of the day to day. Good people, delivering great service. It's an escape in that it's a break from the suburban life tucked in the city in almost a speak easy fashion. I love that it's there but it's almost hidden too. CONVENIENCE! I meet with partners from my day job on the daily. If I'm in town I'm posted up there. I also have started the weekend there in their bar and restaurant with family and friends the 4th floor. ALL who have come have been so impressed. I'm only a month in. Really happy I chose this and waited a month before I reviewed it. You do need to be a member to enjoy the building and events but they do have many chances for you to come see if you like it before becoming a member. This was my second open house event I attended. This place is overrated and way too self-important. My brother had his wedding reception there in May 2023. The passed appetizers came around very sporadically and would only have like 8 servings on a tray at a time so they would disappear instantly not be seen again for another 20 minutes. Brother ordered the food based on common house's recommendations for the amount of people...not one person said they had enough to eat. 3 trays of finger foods (I.e. sliders) for 60 people. Some people never even saw the food. They would have been happy to order more if they were given the proper guidance. Bride asked bartenders for an aperol spritz and they said they didn't have the ingredients for it(?). She was totally fine with that and said so, then got a glass of white wine instead. A few minutes later bartenders said they grabbed the stuff to make aperol spritz and offered her one. Great. Eventually other guests ordered them as well at the supposed fully stocked open bar. After the reception the next day common house sends my brother a bill for $900 to cover the aperol they supposedly sourced and all the guests drank. WTF. When brother and SIL went to discuss in person common house staff tried to gaslight her and say she was told about the additional cost the day of and that she verbally approved it. It was a total lie right to her face. No such conversation ever happened. They were rude, overcharged for everything and had the audacity to lie and blame the customer. The space is not that great to put up with this average food/service and bullshit. read more

Went with my husband and daughters for the Mother's Day brunch. It was delightful. Our server, Mia was friendly (beautiful smile), knowledgeable and attentive. Our food and cocktails were outstanding. The atmosphere is professional but not pretentious or stuffy. I am hoping to return when the weather is warmer so I can experience their rooftop lounge with my daughter. read more
