I love everything about this place and their mission! It's more than a spa, it's a social club and wellness space designed for relaxation and connection. They offer wonderful services like facials, waxing, and hammans. They also have an open space for reflexology and meeting people. They celebrate the unity of strangers here in a way I wish more local businesses did in Richmond. They will be opening a cafe section soon. They encourage people to come and work in the space and meet others. I came in for a hamman ritual. I grew up doing hamman with my mom, so I was really excited to find this service available near me in Richmond. First of all, their heated hamman room was gorgeous! So aesthetically pleasing! My spa companion was so sweet. I'm used to the scrubbing part of the ritual being much harder. My spa companion was both receptive to my requests and checked-in just enough to make sure I was comfortable. Two notes for those trying this out for the first time: If you have a sensitive nose, be sure to note that before your session because there are a lot of lovely smells from all the products. And you will be laying down on a hard surface most of the session, just something to be mindful about for sensitive knees or backs. After my service, they offered me a drink in their comfy pillow room. This is a safe environment and it is embodied in everyone who works here. When you first walk into Skin. by HC you are surrounded by pure love and peace. I love how accepting they are here. I'm looking forward to all the amazing things this place will be doing (and all the fun experiences I'll be having here:)

We started out with some truffle fries and they were great, a must get. For lunch I had the Greek Falafel plate. Not only was the presentation gorgeous but it had a generous portion of hummus and tzatziki. It was full of crispy chickpeas to give a little crunch. The sweet peppers, rainbow carrots, and broccolini were roasted to perfection and full of flavor. The watermelon radish added a gorgeous splash of color and the feta spread throughout . The plate was served with a side of za'atar naan that was a burst of spice and completely complimented the meal. Then to top it off.... Beautiful flowers to add more color and elegance. The service was prompt and kind the entire time! Our colleague showed us around the place after our meal and the theme to me definitely is making people feel welcome and special. It's the little touches that matter, like the beautiful artwork extending from the first floor to the top floor in the stairwell. A cool place to work, collaborate, and be social offering various spaces to meet all your needs.

I separated the dogs but the owner of the offending dog was extremely rude. My dog is playful and not aggressive and I watched this other dog instigate and bully my dog. I watched this dog get into fights with several other dogs as well. We cancelled our memberships and did not go back until this month. Within 5 minutes of being there, the same dog that had tried to fight my dog last time came up to my dog and was trying to fight with him. I ran over and snatched my dog away and the instigating dog set his eyes on another victim. I appreciate the referees at Ruff as they came over to make sure that he was OK. The manager, however, was not helpful at all and said that there was nothing that they could do. We were there for less than 5 minutes. At the very least the manager could have refunded our day pass as my dog clearly did not get to enjoy the park. The park is a great concept but management needs to step in when dogs are consistent offenders. It is not fair to all of the other dogs that play nicely to have a bully ruin it for everyone else. We will not be returning.

All I can say is WOW! My boyfriend and I are members of the Common House and Richmond. We've always…read morewanted to visit another Common House and finally checked out the Charlottesville location on his birthday. When we entered we were warmly welcomed and given an orientation. We learned that this location has more service than the one we're familiar with. They'll fill your water for you vs self service. There are two floors to work on and a rooftop. We chose to work in the kitchen space on the second floor. The design and decor here is gorgeous. I found myself wishing I could take some of the artwork home. Just like our Common House back in Richmond, they offer member events. They sounded so fun I considered driving back to Cville just to experience them. While we were there, we ordered some food. The food we got was beyond delicious. I'd argue even better than the RVA food. The menus vary based on location. I got a delicious miso salmon bowl. My body was craving something like it and I was thrilled when I found out how delicious it tasted. My boyfriend got a grilled cheese and loved each bite. When you're a member you usually get a $25 credit for your birthday (which we used towards lunch), however this location went above and beyond and brought Richard a complimentary chocolate cheesecake without blinking twice. The service and food here are immaculate. I cannot wait to return.

I was a Common House member for about a year and a half. As you can see from my prior review, I…read moreinitially really loved it based on the events and perks and I thought I would stay a member for a long time. However, this past year things really started going downhill. There has been a huge staff turnover, including several staff members who were really the life and soul of the place. Common House has not been able to keep a chef for more than a few months, which has lead to a lot of hit or miss dining experiences. The free coffee, which was a big perk during coworking days, is no more. There have also been several private events that caused full house closures to members. The final nail in the coffin for me was having my membership fee raised not once but twice over the course of a year. The first time ($25 increase) I was given ample notice. The second I was given no notice and just saw an additional $35 on my credit card. When I inquired about why my monthly membership fee had been increased I was given no response. With this, I decided my time at Common House has run its course and canceled my membership. This has seemed like the perfect "third space" for remote young professionals like myself, but it seems that in the last few months several others have had the same thoughts I had and decided to leave. It will always be a cool space, but the current management leaves a lot to be desired.
