I don't know when this cafe changed hands, but when it first opened, it was a coffee place that sold a few sandwiches and salads. Now it's a food place that happens to sell espresso based drinks. My husband and I came here for breakfast a few weeks ago and I guess the food was ok, but the latte that I ordered was topped with whipped cream. I know I'll sound like a snob, but whipped cream, really? I was excited that Common Grounds had changed hands since I wasn't a fan of it before, and I'm sad to say that my opinion hasn't changed. read more

This is one of the best places I've ever eaten, small family owned restaurant you feel like family when you go in. Prices are great food is even better. Never going anywhere else to have a great meal at awesome prices. Atmosphere is pleasant and friendly staff..very clean. Not a very busy hour and food was prepared quickly. Presentation, taste, portioned servings etc of meal was very good..Server was attentive and checked on me frequently. I plan to dine there again. read more

I have never felt so disrespected and abused at a coffee shop/restaurant in my life. I ordered an espresso. First I was asked if I was sure I didn't mean a latte. No, an espresso, please. I'm thinking now that not many people order simply espresso here. I was then asked "single or double," and decided on a double shot. I could see the young girl behind the counter pulling the shot into a ceramic espresso mug for me. "Perfect," I thought. But then to my surprise, she hands me a tall, paper to-go cup. When I asked for the espresso in the ceramic mug instead, she took out a coffee mug that was somewhere between 8 and 12 ounces and nearly filled the mug with my "double shot of espresso." When I tried to tell the poor girl this wasn't right, a double shot of espresso should be 2 ounces, not a full mug, she was confused and had to get the owner to come out. I figured the young girl was new, it was a harmless mistake on her part, and the owner would graciously fix the problem. Well, I tried to explain to the owner that this large mug of espresso was not what I ordered - I ordered a double shot. (I mean, anyone who knows even a little about coffee and espresso should know that a single shot is an ounce, a double shot is two ounces.) The owner started nastily telling me that I was wrong, I didn't know what I was talking about, that's what a double shot of espresso looks like (a full coffee mug), and that I was the only one to ever complain, so I was the one in the wrong. She was awful! And she even went as far to tell me that she measured her espresso mugs herself and that they're each one ounce. Okay, so you have no customer service skills AND you can't measure. When I tried to calmly explain to her that there is no way the large mug of coffee was only two ounces (and anywhere else on the planet you order a double shot of espresso, you'll get about two ounces), she flippantly cut me off and said, "There's no point in arguing with you. I know I'm right." I had her pour about two ounces of the liquid into the small espresso mug and drank it. It was not very good; I'm sure the owner doesn't know what crema is. When I tried to pay, the owner told me not to bother, like she was doing me a favor. I think she just wasn't bright enough to count out the change, so I dropped my money in the tip jar and let her keep the change. I would have considered going back for the flat, watered-down espresso had the owner been dimwitted but nice. Since she was only the former and incredibly nasty to me, I will definitely not be back. read more

I had their breakfast last month and it was okay. I had an egg and cheese sandwich and it was basically McDonald's. It was really cheap though. I ordered a half cut tea and it was super sweet so they took it away and I got water instead. My aunt got pancakes and they were also incredibly sweet. Not very good. Too much sugar in everything. I'll stick to having lunch or dinner here. read more
