We just went on the 4th of July dinner, dance watch fire works cruise on the bay. It was great. We have seen the Cabernet Sauvignon yacht docked in Alameda when we go walking along the shore but never really thought about looking into cruises. We boarded around 6:30 after getting checked in. The bars opened at 6:30 (2nd and 3rd deck) so it seemed like a good first stop upon boarding. Buffet dinner of chicken, hand cut prime rib, sauteed vegetables, salad, lemon rice, and cheese cake started just after 7. I had 2 helpings and cleared my plate both times. Delicious. Back to the bars. Both had beer, wine and spirits. The upstairs bar had the good tequila as well as more premium spirits. Around 9:30 we were in position off the San Francisco waterfront to watch the fireworks. The open top deck was perfect for viewing. It was somewhat clear earlier I the evening but of course the fog rolled in just in time for the festivities. It was still a good show. The DJ was playing tunes all night on the 3rd deck but the dancing really started after the fireworks. The crowd was mixed but everyone was pleasant. The over zealous clean up crew decided to grab our drinks while dancing. The bar crew replaced them even when the bar was technically closed. Huge props to them. Will definitely do this again. Maybe for fleet week when the planes are flying. read more

Had our high school prom on the Commodore and it was okay. The boat itself had 4 levels with the upper deck being an open space as well as the 3rd level having a bit of an outdoor portion. The other levels were mainly designated to food and photobooths. The boat drove all the way past the golden gate bridge from Alameda and back. The views were spectacular but the cruise itself was just okay. Pros: - Amazing views from the deck as well as all areas inside the boat. Really loved the route it was on. - Lemon bars which were slightly too sweet but still delicious. - Friendly waiters who were always asking us if we wanted any drinks and clearing the plates. Cons: - No elevator so it was hard to climb up and down the stairs in a long ball gown. - The bathrooms were tiny, not poofy dress friendly. - The food is actually terrible. Think grapes with saucy chicken, I don't know who thought of this option. - The dance floor was on the 3rd floor and while people jumped, it seemed like the ceiling tiles were about to break on the 2nd floor. Overall okay experience. Should have spent more time looking at the views instead of eating the food. read more

We did our company holiday party with Commodore Cruises and worked with Jewell throughout the whole process. She was so attentive and helpful and made the stress of planning go away. Even when she was out on vacation, she made sure that I was connected to someone in case I had questions. The food was delicious and I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the triple pasta station was. We had more than enough food even though we only did one grazing station. We added a DJ to our event but they also offered poker tables that you can add on to your package. DJ Prince was amazing and knew how to get us up and dancing with great song selections. Everything went smoothly step by step in working with Jewell and she was able to help accommodate some last minute asks on making sure we had food dietary labels, gluten free pasta options, whether there was free parking and bike parking available, etc. Boarding was on the dot and we enjoyed the ride through the Bay. I don't think we went to the Golden Gate Bridge but we did go under the Bay Bridge. The bay was beautiful and the three hour cruise time felt too short when it came to an end. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of hosting an event! Especially if you get to work with Jewell. We also were given two complimentary tickets for Meet the Fleet (after booking) which allowed us to tour the yachts for a sample tasting. This gave me a chance to see the layout of our reserved yacht and get a feel for the menu. read more

My partner took me on a Commodore cruise to celebrate Independence Day 2022. We had an amazing time! The cruise departed from Alameda and sailed to San Francisco where we got to watch the SF fireworks show. Check-in for the cruise started at 6pm. After boarding, we had a cocktail hour; there were two bars on two levels of the boat. Dinner was buffet-style and included chicken in a cream sauce, prime rib, Caesar salad, and lemon rice. The lemon rice was soooo good, I had to go back for seconds. Dessert was cheesecake, and I ended up having seconds of that as well. My diet tends to go out the window on holidays. After dinner and after the fireworks show, there was dancing, which was a blast. We got back into port around 11pm. The crowd was fun, and even though the dress code was described as casual, it was nice to see that most people made an effort to dress nicely. Commodore does cruises for other events as well, including New Year's Eve. We will definitely be doing another one of these cruises! read more

As we walked into the Yacht we were greeted with a smile and a glass of champagne LOVE IT The first floor of the Commodore was very nice, white leather sofas bar nice open space Walked up to the 2nd floor we were greeted by Walter with more drink SOOO IN LOVE LOL Food was waiting for us. Salad, bread and butter, rice pilaf, tri tip and chicken Every thing was great. I contacted Commodore for a celebratory family cruise. I spoke with Jewell who said they would try to get a crew and captain together for my evening event and would put us on the Pinot Noir yacht if they could get a crew together. I was elated when I received an email from Brenda Wong with a low level menu and contract. I emailed back and asked for the upgraded Tier menu. At the same time, I contacted family and friends to let them know they could schedule their plane travel because the event was scheduled! The next day, while making the menu selections, I received an email from Brenda Wong saying she had booked the yacht and my reserved date and time out from under me and asked if I'd like a different date. I have only heard of less professional behavior in a back alley. Who absorbs the cost for the canceled flights? Disgusting behavior and business practices! Follow-up: I called Jewell to get clarification as to how this occurred and she stated there was already a contract out for this ship, date and time. REVIEW FOR LUXE who now owns them- Booked this a year in advance for our company Christmas party. Everyone was looking forward to it as we had not had one offsite in about 5 years. I am fortunate enough to be in charge of the parties. The Cabernet Sauvignon was very nice. We had gaming on the first level, dining on the second and dancing on the 3rd. Everyone enjoyed the food, but the desserts were even better. The views were amazing to say the least and our captain did a fantastic job. We had planned and paid for 220 people with an estimate as it got closer of only 180- We ended up at 90 and they DO NOT refund anything so go on the lighter side to start off is my suggestion to you. I made it pretty easy for them as I am detail oriented and like to have everything taken care of well in advance. We had it paid in full a month before our event date. Our event Coordinator was Victoria. Victoria was very responsive until she wasn't. About 2 weeks prior to our event it was extremely hard to get her via email or on the phone. She had not reached out to our D.J and come to find out there was supposed to be a walk through planned with him and there was not. They finally connected the day of only to find out there is no WIFI only a hotspot on the yacht so we had to do some quick thinking and bring our MIFI in order to have Karaoke as we had planned. Victoria had arranged via our contract to provide a photo booth. We always have them at our events and they are enjoyed by all. This was also paid for well in advance. She sent me the final details and all items were correct as were as we agreed upon or so I thought. When I arrived and boarded at 4 pm I did a visual check and all seemed ok. I was approached by a staff member Yesenia who was pleasant and told me that Victoria had an emergency and would not be joining us. I understand things happen but I had spoke to her in the morning and she made no mention of not showing up. Our food was brought out and the New york strip was actually a roast so it appeared different than we thought. The salmon was very good as was the roast. The veggies were pretty plain and I wouldnt advise selecting those. There were more mushrooms than anything else. After dinner decided to look for the photo booth. We looked on each level and it was nowhere to be found. When I asked about it Yesenia was clearly stupmed and this other guy who was not friendly whatsoever said normally they dont set that up. I told him that my contract stated you did and Victorias email to me said All was set up and I needed to do nothing. I tried to reach out to the photobooth guy - Rich at SF Booths 415-604-8446 and he didnt answer or return my message.. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL on all parts. If your job is to plan events for people then please do your job in full. It made me wonder if that was why Victoria decided to not show up, because she knew she had dropped the ball. We purchased props too but oh well. The night went on and everyone did have a nice time. Our drinks were taken away before we finished, and we had to advise the staff to ask before touching. The same happened with dessert plates if we had something left on them that we were working on they would disappear without warning. Our bartender was not well stocked with items though we paid for the premium bar, and I brought some supplemental alcohol that was approved as long as we kept it at the bar. I asked him to make me a drink with elderflower and he literally just threw some in with vodka I think and cherry it was so gross. They asked me if they could put the food away after a couple hours and I told them that was fine. They did not however tell me that they were going to close off that area completely. We had some coats and purses in the dining area and the doors were closed. When I opened the doors, I was stopped by a young man who told me we were not allowed in anymore as they were clearing that area. We paid for the entire boat so please let us use the entire boat and don't close anything off until the party is done and especially if you see people's personal items. Monday morning, I reached out to Toby who apparently is Victoria's boss. I sent him all the information and issues we had with the main one being our missing photo booth and copies of emails from Victoria. It honestly did no good there wasn't much concern only excuses. Even showing she didn't connect with the D.J As of 12/15/22. His response to our drinks being taken was "sorry our staff is so efficient they wanted to seem busy since there was 1crew member for each 15 persons ". I found it amusing when he asked if we would book with him again next year so that he could buy us a photobooth, in addition to crediting us for the missing one. I felt that we should have gotten more out of it than just that. I did not feel that our issues were taken at all seriously and will take our business elsewhere for 2023. read more

we celebrated my husbands 30th birthday 4/29/2021... Everything was so beautifully set up, the food was amazing and our families really loved the open bar!! The crew were all vaccinated and they respected us and wore mask. Although I knew we'd all be ok, I told them they didn't need them. We had about 30 people on board and things were amazing. Full buffet, open bar, and the cake were the package for a 3hour cruise around the bay waters. We are now 2days post party and EVERYBODY are still talking about the great experience. If you are Iffy with booking, DONT BE!! Book your event, every dollar is worth it!! We will be having our 10yr marriage anniversary aboard their biggest yacht and we are thrilled for that experience!! My husband threw me a surprise birthday party 4/17/2021 and it was truly an unforgettable experience well spent with close friends and family! The Holiday party our friends had on one of the boats for a Night Cruise through the SF bay waterfront was so fun. The music, dancing, food and party atmosphere is even better on the Bay. We were searching all over the Bay Area for different wedding venue ideas and as fate would have it, we stumbled on to Commodore Cruises and Events. We live in Alameda and saw it while driving by one day. Brenda was amazing and walked us through all their different yachts. Communication was A+ from day one and after we chose the ship, everything else was as simple as sitting down with Brenda for 30 min and choosing from the diverse menu items. We attended their wedding expo and got to taste various entrees. Everything was delicious and their chefs are top notch! A couple days before the wedding, we surprised Brenda with centerpieces and explained how we would like things decorated. When we showed up for the big day, everything looked better than we could have imagined. In addition, we sent Brenda a couple pictures of cakes we liked and she had the baker design exactly what we envisioned. Our wedding day was amazing. The weather was perfect, photographs were amazing, and we even got to see a whale! While we were searching for different reception locations, I learned that waterfront restaurants in SF started at $6000 for a group of 25. That's just for dinner and doesn't include drinks! We were able to provide everyone with an amazing experience, delicious food, open full bar, and dancing for less than that. This is specific to The NYE 2020 party aboard the Cabinet Sauvignon. My wife and I have taken many other dinner cruises in NYC, Paris, etc on different lines. We had searched for a formal, elegant NYE cruise and it appeared from the description that this was it. It wasn't. The positives: The food provided was pretty tasty, especially for not being cooked on board. The wait staff was efficient. The sailing itself was pretty smooth. Certainly some expected rocking but generally smooth. The cons: This event was basically a decent buffet with limited options. The only service to the table was taking the dishes away. Everything else was buffet, get your own, etc. Even the champagne prior to midnight was "get in line and get your own". Dress was supposed to be formal and elegant and yet many were in plaid and jeans, and one in basketball shorts. NO HEAT on board. It was very, very cold outside and you'd figure the inside would have been heated for guests but we sat the entire dinner with our coats on. Not pleasant. The highlights of the cruise were the jokes I told my wife, the fireworks and a fight that broke out just before disembarking - complete with head punches and rolling around on the floor. Classy. If the event had been advertised differently and close to what it actually was, that would have been better and I would have avoided spending over $500 for 2 people. I have paid less than that for dinner cruises with great food and drink service. But, it wasn't the event we read we were going to experience. read more

The new year's eve dinner cruise opening for year 2020: The only good thing about the cruise was the weather and the fireworks. The DJ was totally awful. He played the worst selection of songs ever. He played 1 or 2 disco songs from the 70s, club music songs with a lot of mixes, and FOREIGN music. It was not like the previous times I went on this cruise. My suggestion is to not have this DJ come back. FIRE or terminate the DJ's employment. This DJ IS THE WORST. Don't quit your day job. Go back to Mcdonald's getting paid minimum wage, LOL The vibe was not there. There were a lot more drunk people on this boat than in previous years. The wholesome, eclectic ambience from previous years took a sharp turn for the worse on this one. There was even a fight that broke out at the end of the cruise with punches which I hadn't seen in previous years. It seemed the event was disorganized. Like they were getting things out of the way just to keep up with what they advertised. Overall, it was an awful experience. I didn't feel I enjoyed this cruise like in the previous years. My wife Vianca and I had commodore host our wedding and reception this past Saturday (2/22/2020). I can't begin to tell you how amazing our night went. Commodore allowed us to have our wedding on the Fume Blanc so we can have an outdoor wedding and then for the reception moved us to the Chardonnay. The captain of the boat was able to read our vows in both English and Spanish and the staff of the Chardonnay were on point! Always professional and courteous to all of our needs. And we can't leave out Victoria, our coordinator. From day 1 we felt like we may have bombarded her with questions but she was always prompt and on top of our requests. She worked with us on all our needs and superseded our expectations. On our wedding day I saw her moving around, making sure every one was where they needed to be, telling people where to go, what to do and made sure our night was about my wife and I and made sure we had the time of our lives. Victoria and staff, thank you so much for making our night fun, memorable and something all our guests will be talking about for years. The only con I have is that we wont get to see each other again until our reunion. Hopefully it'll be sooner than that though. Thank you all again. read more

One of the best experiences I've ever had! We went on a Friday evening from about 5:00/5:30pm to 9:30pm. The food was delicious, the cash bar had neat cocktails (we didn't want anything fancy so it was perfect), and the views of the bay were absolutely gorgeous! I took a Dramamine before the trip (just in case) and didn't get motion sickness thank goodness! We departed from Alameda and took a slow cruise towards and under the Golden Gate Bridge. We passed Angel Island, Alcatraz, popped by the Giant's Stadium as a home run was hit, and enjoyed the sunset on the way back to Alameda. It was child friendly for my 11 and 14 year old but might be a tough ride with younger kids to entertain for 4 hours. If you live in the Bay and have never experienced this outing, I definitely recommend it! In all this craziness it's nice to be on the water and appreciate this beautiful place that we live in. read more

She worked with me on the menu, the layout, listened to what I was worried about, and had great recommendations...it was so easy! The night of the event, Walter and the rest of the crew was so nice and Walter was constantly checking in. I didn't have to worry about a thing and was able to truly enjoy the night with the guests. We have a dinner (I would rate it 4*), delicious dessert, unlimited bar, disco on the 3 floor with different types of music, best place for fireworks (without SF crowds and traffic). Everyone was very helpful and nice! We didn't have any problems with a restrooms or anything else. The views were fantastic and we really glad that we took this tour! My Good Friend Dave and his Beautiful Bride Nana had their Wedding Reception on Commodores Merlot . Its a 6 Million dollar yacht and it was a nice evening Cruise from 6:30 Pm -9:30 Pm . We cruised the SF Bay all the way out to the Golden Gate Bridge. The Food was Outstanding. On the Menu was Wild Rice ,Mixed Vegetables ,Cesar Salad , Salmon and Prime Rib. I had 4 slices of the Prime Rib it was so Tender and Succulent. Desert was Red Velvet Cupcakes and German Chocolate Cake Yum Yum. It was a Beautiful Night . I even got to do my Titanic pose on the front of the Boat. LOL. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and was happy to be there to celebrate Dave and Nana's Marriage and Start to their new life together. The views were amazing, the music was great, and the food was delicious. I thought it was a great value, family friendly, and would definitely come back again (perhaps with an even bigger group this time). 3.5 Stars Attended a wedding here this month and I was pleasantly surprised as I have never been to a wedding on a ship/yacht! The ceremony was held on the top level of the ship. There were several chairs for the guests, but definitely not enough for everyone. During this time, there were passed hours devours (spanakopita and some type of chicken curry pastry) as well as champagne and by this point, I was famished! During the ceremony, the ship was still docked, so we didn't have to deal with rocking of the boat. The backdrop of the Alameda/Oakland skyline was wonderful. When the ceremony was finished, guests headed down to the 3rd level (which served as the main level/dance floor for more hours devours and drinks from the (open) bar. Dinner service was a buffet style consisting of bread, salad, rice, veggies, chicken and prime rib. I wished I had a steak knife because the meat was definitely hard to cut. There was a photo booth (not sure if this is standard) on the 2nd level. Which was the "lounge" area with couches. The top level of the ship was the place it be. Fortunately, there was no fog and it was a clear SF evening. It had THE best place to take nighttime skyline view shots. All of the staff members on board were very nice and accommodating. read more

If I could give more stars, I would! We had our wedding on the Fume Blanc on 9/15/18. Brenda was our amazing wedding coordinator who worked with us since Nov 2017 on making our wedding as beautiful and stress-free as possible. The process leading up to the wedding date was nearly effortless and she let us know exactly what we should expect. Despite our efforts, we ended up forgetting some decorations and the table numbers (womp womp) on the day of the wedding. Brenda and her team stepped up and took matters into their own hands - they immediately printed off some beautiful table number cards and made our decorations work with some excellent craft-work. We got many compliments on the food and there was more than enough for my ~100 guests. The alcohol ran out with half an hour left of the cruise, but my guests are heavy drinkers, so it was expected. We had no problems with sea-sickness, bathrooms, or anything else. A lot of guests told us that this was the best, and most unique, wedding they had ever been to! I'm pretty sure their waitstaff stole my wife's sunglasses from her purse. We were there for a private event. Everybody moved from the dining room to go to the lower level for the cake cutting. My wife left her purse/handbag in the dining room, since it seems like a safe environment. By the time we got home at night, my wife realized her sunglasses were gone from her purse. Her sunglasses were in a nice case, and probably seemed like an easy target. It's pretty lame that we were there for a party and then we had our stuff stolen. read more

This is a wedding experience people. How often do you get to say you went to an event on a yacht that sails around the bay. Never. After doing a cost analysis on renting a venue, caterer, flowers, party planner, OPEN BAR the cost of this all inclusive experience far exceeded my expectations. Walking up to the ship was a beautiful experience . The entry was fast and to the point which I liked. Food was being served immediately so we got to eat fast. We had the prime rib, salad, marinated chicken and vegetables. I think the food was good. Prime rib was tender and my salad was yummy. I do think we felt kind of rushed to eat by the waiters. They came to grab our plates soon after we left the dock. The champagne was ok. Not really up to my standards so we tried to bring our own bottle which they didn't offer corkage so we couldn't bring it. The drinks / bar isn't what I'm used to either. No credit cards allowed so it's only cash with a small selection of well drinks and mid level spirits. This was a Fourth of July cruise which cost roughly $364 for 2 tickets, pretty pricey. Update: I was able to make reservations. We walked up to one of their boats, which happened to be the biggest one. As we walked in, we were greeted immediately. We checked in, and we walked upstairs. The place was nice. The boat was well light. Good spacing. Had a nice view. Open to move around the boat. The food was decent. The food was like a buffet style. There were wild rice, mixed vegetables, cesar salad, chicken, and prime rib. I had a couple slices of the prime rib, and they were soft and tender. Desert was chocolate mousse, which was creamy. Was delicious. But the event was about show casing their boats, service, and food. It was a good was to market for weddings, which would be awesome to have one with Commodore. 9/15/2017: This is just based on their customer services, as I have not gone on a dinner or banquet. I called last Thursday inquiring about a coupon I received from Verizon. I called. I was told to email them the coupon, because they were not aware of it. So, I sent them the coupon. Meh...next time we do a bay cruise, we'll take the car and drive across the Bay Bridge to Hornblower. Commodore has no kitchen aboard their boat so everything food-wise is room temp, served on a tiny, crowded buffet and mind-blowingly bland or just plain bad. Also, quite possibly the worst dessert I've ever tasted. Hornblower has actual kitchens with chefs preparing food. Price isn't that big a difference so the only real difference is that we can walk from our house to Commodore vs driving across the Bay Bridge to Hornblower (plus the difference in food quality). Next tine I decide to spend nearly $200 pp for a bay cruise, I'll get in the car and drive to San Francisco to Hornblower Landing. read more

We rented the Zinfandel yacht for New Year's Eve this year for a family event of about 85 people. Jewell was so wonderful and helped me plan this event every step of the way and really went out of her way to accommodate us. NYE was a blast on the bay. We saw fireworks on the water and it was absolutely gorgeous. The food was amazing and the staff on the yacht were so helpful. We're so grateful we found commodore. This was truly a unique experience for us. We also hired one of their DJs and he was amazing. Overall a 5 for sure!! read more

The Valentine's Day cruise is a nice way to charm the love of your life. This three hour cruise, dinner and dancing is a great way to surprise your lady on Valentine's Day *2018 Update* I have had a luxurious time with Commodore Events over the years. I especially enjoy the Wednesday evening "Meet the Fleet". This is a great way to dine and tour the yachts dock side for a couple of hours. Wine and Champagne is severed with the delicious prime rib or tender chicken. A great get away from normal dinning for sure.
