I called SCV Glassworks and first spoke to Eric and then to Andrew. The first response from Andrew was that they would replace the windows only if we purchased them "within the last year or so." I reminded him of the "Lifetime Warranty," and then Andrew said we had to file our request with Milgard. I pointed out that we purchased the windows from SCV Glassworks, and they hold themselves out as a "Milgard Certified Dealer." Andrew then changed his story and said he'd file a warranty request to Milgard to have the windows replaced. Andrew requested that I photograph the window frame and send it to him since it contained all the warranty information he needed. I forwarded the photographic information, and he confirmed receiving all the information he needed. He said he would put in a warranty request for me. After three weeks, I heard nothing, so I sent a text to Andrew asking for an update on my warranty request. He responded that he'll check with the manufacturer, Milgard, to determine the status of my warranty repair. He'd let me know as soon as he hears from Milgard. Two weeks went by, and not a word from SCV Glassworks, so today I decided to call Milgard myself. I reached Milgard's warranty department, and they advised that they had no warranty request from SCV Glassworks. Alexander, in Milgard's Customer Service Department, advised that it was best for me to just file my own warrant request through his department. Alexander asked that I forward the photographic information of the two windows to be replaced. I sent the information to Alexander, and in less than an hour, he confirmed receipt of my information, confirmed the warranty, and scheduled the window replacement. The Bottom Line: Milgard windows are great, and their service department is the best I've ever experienced. Kudos to Andrew in Milgard's Customer Service Department in Simi Valley. SCV Glassworks: First, a denial of a warranty, then a claim that they filed a warranty request when they had not, and no follow-up whatsoever. Their "service" was the worst.

Liz (I hope I remembered her name correctly), was very helpful. She took the measurements over the phone and gave us a reasonable quote. The piece was ready the following day and fit perfectly. The shop is a little difficult to find, but was worth the search. We will be using them again in the near future for a dining room table glass top.

The seal, or seals, gave out. We called (Carlos), in December, but he put us off for sometime. Than the covid virus became an issue, so he finally got back to us but could not do anything till things became safer, which was quite understandable. Another window lost its seals and started to get water inside of it. He finally replaced the large window in July 2020, but NEVER REPLACED THE SMALLER WINDOW, in which he said he would. We called him a dozen times, he simply will not answer his phone. Reflecting on everything that has happened the work they actually did was quite poor. Most of the window seals were sloppy and sticking out partially or were not to length. The one window he replaced, the seal is coming undone, AGAIN. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY, OR CARLOS. And the thing that makes its even more sad is that Carlos made it a point to impress upon us that he was A CHRISTIAN. His character showed otherwise. This is my experience with C & N, and Carlos. Maybe others have had a better experience or maybe they were just having a bad year. I don't know, I cannot quantify the reasons. But I do know this! A person's character is represented by their work & actions.

Anyway, our sliding back patio door finally jammed immovably shut yesterday evening. I called Yelp's highly rated companies, one of whom doesn't do this type of work anymore and referred me to another company who said they could come out in two or three weeks, maybe! Since there aren't many referrals on Yelp I turned to Google and started down the list. The first one also couldn't come out for some time so moving on to number two, C & N Glass, I spoke to Carlos who promised to come out around 2.00 pm this afternoon to give me a quote and if I found it acceptable do the repair right away. I was frankly hesitant because of their two one star reviews on Yelp but they were going to give me an estimate first and it was going to be today so I gave them a try. Carlos and Cesar arrived on time, gave me an acceptable quote and fixed the door which was no small thing - the whole process taking a couple of hours and included new parts. It works like new and was very fairly priced. I recommend them unreservedly and think that the earlier negative reviews were malicious. You can see from my other reviews and the timeline for my contributions that I'm a genuine Yelper and I urge you to give these guys a try - I don't think you'll be disappointed.
