The two stars are because the actual schooling was good. Some of the teachers were super helpful and they had a thing where different companies talked about being employed with them. NOW. The minus 3 stars are simply due to the school's lack of communication. I had an issue before the school started, but was able to finish all the steps to clear the problem. I did every step needed and was able to finish the class and get my CDL. This was in March. Now I've been trying to find employment so I can build a career and support my family, and I can't get past the beginning steps due to the school not sending the correct paperwork to show proof that the issue had been sorted before the class started. I've checked with every other involved party and it all comes back to this school that was supposed to send the necessary paperwork back when I finished the class. I've reached out for about 3 weeks now asking if they can sort this issue so I can finally start working. I spoke to Matt who said he'll sort it then never got back. I left a million messages for whoever Ashley is just so she can text and then never reply again. I've spend over $6k of MY OWN MONEY just so I can have a license to look at. I'm so sick of having to reach out to beg this school to LITERALLY do their job. I had to actually come to the school today just to try and get an answer. Usually I wouldn't make such a big deal, but I just wasted over $6k of my own money just to basically leave messages and talk to myself about an issue that they should've sorted MONTHS ago. I would not recommend unless your job is paying for it. And I know business owners always reply saying they want to assist but they never reply after that so no need. From Vince, the classroom instructor whose veteran-in-the-field knowledge was only exceeded by his encouraging, wildly patient mentor/approachable demeanor; to Al - the knowledgeable old school who really truly and honestly only wanted you to succeed and he was made to help you get there - this establishment was one of the most impressive, family-like efforts I have ever seen a school pull together to be. Having been a girl in a room full of "truckers", I was more than pleasantly and impressively surprised -- the comraderie among them, and the welcoming to their circle (with a little jest and sibling-esque humor of course) was easily the most comfortable transition into an unknown world one could imagine. Some people will rate a school negatively based on one bad experience. I've noticed negative reviews for this school, but I took my chances and went here anyways. What an experience! Commercial Driver School, the Auburn location, exceeded all expectations. The instructors were knowledgable, the office staff accommodating, and my fellow students were all within 15 years one direction or another of my age (28). I've actually made at least two long term friends in my short four weeks attending here. So! How does the program work? Your first week is book learning. In this time you learn the rules of the profession as well as all the legal responsibilities we have to follow. I'll be honest, so long as you use the learning resources available online on top of what you receive in class....this part is pretty much a no-brainer. After this first week, you test for your permit (written tests) and the following week you start your driving!! After three weeks of driving and studying your pre-trip, and I mean STUDY that pre-trip, you're ready to test for your actual license! Yup, that easy and that fast. I came in not having ever driven a manual shift transmission before, and after four weeks I passed my DOL test in a ten-speed 18 wheeler and trailer first time. You can too!! Each week you get a new instructor, and each instructor has a different teaching method. You can't lose here. Give them a go. Ok, I am active duty military and wanted to get my CDL before I got out. I decided on this school because the president actually took his time to come out and talk to the soldiers on their way out. They have a few campuses but I chose Auburn because it was closer to where I live and I am so happy I did. They are very military friendly and signing up with my GI bill was very easy. Upon visiting for my first time Ashley, the campus director, was nice and ready to help me sign up within a few minutes. Sammy and Rhiannon are probably the first people you will see when walking in and they are great. Both of them helped me study and kept me on track to pass the pre-trip inspection which is a lot of memorization. They even stayed later with the students to work with them. The driving instructors were also awesome. All of them were very patient with the students that weren't very confident driving the tractor trailer right away or had trouble with backing. Throughout the school we all became comfortable with all the aspects of testing and driving. I did the entire course, so the class A, dump truck, cement mixer, and bus. Everything went great and my whole class was able to pass the DOL tests. So all in all I am very pleased with my decision to get my CDL through Commercial Driver School in Auburn. All the staff was helpful and went the extra mile to help us pass the tests with flying colors. It takes a little work on the students part so be ready to study and work on that double clutch. read more

One star, only because I couldn't go any lower. Some of the instructors are so " Big-headed " that all they want you to know is how great they are ( in their own minds ). Some of the required curriculum that is taught is actually dangerous and goes against the actual cdl written test. read more

The commercial driver school has a great and friendly atmosphere from the office and to the yard. The school has great instructors! They all have different methods of teaching. Each one is unique from the Oldest to the youngest instructor but all of them are very good. I was able to learn exactly what I needed to know and more!They even show you how to hook and unhook your trailer. Which is not on the test. They work with you on everything you need to pass with flying colors. Sure enough I passed my test! And now I carry my CDL license. read more

I decided to get my cdl because I was tired of sales and tired of being behind a desk 247. There was a few schools around my area that I could have attended I randomly stopped by cds and talked with the front desk ladies. I got the vibe I was looking for. Somewhere I can learn what I need to and also have a great time doing it! I can honestly say I had an amazing experience attending the auburn campus. Class it was a very relaxed atmosphere. A learn as you go type of feel to it they teach you everything you need to know plus some you get an overwhelming amount of support in classroom and driving the price wasn't to high especially for a place that could easily charge double. One of the great thing s about cds is that they will help you find a place to work after you get your class done and even better then that if you for whatever reason lose your job or quit or anything they are a life time support to help you find another job any job you prefer that has to to with cdl not just driving jobs. I can honestly say i have made life time friends in class mates and in the people that work there. The auburn campus is so amazing I told them I can't wait to get my 2 years of experience and come back and be an instructor at that campus... oh and the three office ladies ain't to bad on the eyes lol which made going there that much better. I am a recent graduate of this school. I paid for the school out of my own savings. I did get my CDL at the end of the 4 weeks of training. However, the experience was horrific. You are treated like an inconvenience once you have paid your money. They will tell you how much they will help you in any area that your weak in but when you go to get that help or ask a question your treated like an imbecile. I would like to use names but I don't want to make this personal. Although it is, since it was my experience. I am still unemployed and I am 4700 dollars in debt. Their 98% success rate is a lie, please do not buy into that. I was able to depend on my classmates to help me pass all 7 tests. There is one driver that did make a difference and his name is AL. Big shout out to AL for being patient and willing to help when your boss only wanted to sit behind her desk and push numbers and tell lies. Also you do not get a new instructor each week. Your supposed to, but that is ultimately up to how many people they cram into your class and what quota they are trying to meet. There is one arrogant instructor, he is very rude and condescending and he works at the Auburn location. He yells at you when your making a mistake. Who wants to pay 4700 dollars to be yelled at. Seriously, I would have preferred to save my money and go somewhere else. read more
