She's running a business, and should treat any potential customers politely and with respect. Do not do business with this lady. I called to see if she would be interested in doing business with me, as I have several items that I would like to put on consignment. Before I could even tell her the details of my items, she quickly responded with "I'm not interested in anything you have." She then proceeded to hang up the phone on me. I'm an understanding person, and I get it if business is not good right now, but there's a right and wrong way to speak to people. In my opinion, she is not very good with customer service.

You can find anything from frozen vittles to threads to tractor signs to junk craft stuff to furniture to llamas and beyond. I bet you could find nine "live, laugh, love" signs here. I'm not sure how any of this works really. I just walk around with my wife and agree with her judgement on things. I make sounds and stuff. She comes here a lot without me too I think. She buys things for the kids all of the time. Recently, she found a dresser here for my Grands nursery. She told my kid about it and kid came to check it out and it was gone. Kid found it at another place like this in Collierville for like $250 more than it was here. The exact same one! Crazy thing is.... They bought it! She has small children running around everywhere, she's nowhere to be found when you need her and dresses like a model from Goodwill. Every time I have been in there, she's been too busy gossiping or gabbing on the phone to be of any assistance. She's rude if you dare interrupt her gossip session to ask a question. It seems the only reason she owns a business is to swap information about her customers, frenemies and neighbors. I know it's a small town, but have some decorum and respect for your customers!

After the customer left the employee asked me if I had a mask. I said yes and she told me that according to the mandate I needed to put it on. I told her that the other customer didn't have on a mask. She said "well I know her and she took it off to walk out" which was an untrue statement. I'm tired of the hypocrisy of employees telling me what to do when their "friends" don't have to abide by the same rules.

In the past I have shopped there. Not often, Hence why I had not done a review. I remember this place when my mom that is no longer here used to take me in there and my wife comes here to shop for props. I've always liked the layout it feels like a home, not a store. BUT, after yesterday this store has lost my business and a few other clients that have stated they are not shopping there anymore. 8 that used to shop there from our local game and a few that have had interest in going in the store. Why do you get one star. Well I don't care that you might look at me and I don't look white or that I don't cruise around with the golden girls. Or that I got out of bed grabbed a t-shirt and my dog and went out the door. When someone comes in to try and talk to you. A customer that used to shop here. To assist you on removing a location google added, that brought attention to this store in a public game. Yet when I talked to you, you we're cold and short on all your responses. What got to me, Is when I got in line and you addressed me first by asking "can I help you?" I came in to give you my information in case you wanted help removing this location from google/ingress game. You said it should be illegal for a game that uses free/advertising to have your location on there. When friends and I stop at this location while playing we stay for maybe 5-8 min max. I know of three of us have come in and bought something from Past and Present in the last two months. Out of all of this what hurt the most was: "I am with a customer right now, wait out side, I will be with you" madam I am not a dog.

The store is filled with unique treasures that I have never seen at other stores in Memphis as well as so many items that I never knew I needed or wanted until I saw them in Paradox. The staff at Paradox are also so incredibly helpful and kind. They are always there to welcome you and are genuinely excited to have you in their store. It's also incredible how much they know about their product. I will simply be admiring a piece in the store and somebody from the team will come over, notice what I'm looking at, and share with me a whole story about the artist, where it's from, how it's made, etc. Ultimately, I cannot recommend this beautiful store enough to both local Memphians or folks visiting from out of town. Special shout out to Lauren in the store who always makes me feel like family when I come in!
