The best pool hall in Harrisburg. Hands down. No competition. One of the best places to come hang…read moreout and chill. Bring your own drinks too. The owners are fantastic. Theyre warm and make you feel welcomed EVERY SINGLE TIME you come. I cant recommend it enough. Fun and friendly place to be. Table costs about $8 an hour or $20 for the entire day. You cant really beat those prices. Love this place.

Club Med can be a little hard to find if you have no idea where you're going. I was told "it's…read moreover behind the Harrisburg Mall" and forced to find it on my own. Eventually, I did, but I chalk that up to my Carthaginian Explorer's sense of direction. If you have a Persian sense of direction *ahem* and accidently direct people to the pentagon, you'd never find it. Once you know where you're going, you begin to figure out how to get those covetted front parking spots, that seem to be a million miles closer to the door than the rest of the lot. Close parking is both an artform and a science, and at Club Med, it's crucial, because it seems like during the winter months, the wind blows just a little bit stronger on the East side of South Harrisburg. I also think it happens to swell up in the driveway, in the only place that the gym doesn't shelter from the wind. Club Med has a little over 20 pool tables. They have a pretty red one and an even prettier blue one. There is a back room that is non-smoking. However, I've never been in there, because let's face it, I can't put out my cigarette long enough to walk back there. The juke box is relatively well stocked, and if it's slow, and you go there often enough, the owner will hook you up with some change to put in and play a few jams. On Friday and Saturday nights however, it's usually stocked an hour ahead with 50 cent songs played by middle school and high school kids who go there so they can smoke. The whole place isn't packed with kids, but they definitely make up a substantial proportion of the clientelle. Other major groups include the skeezy old men who gamble on billiards and Asians who, as if they hadn't impressed us enough with their mathematical and breakdancing abilities, had to go and be amazing at pool too. The highlight of Club Med is definitely the owner, and his staff, who I believe are all family. They are wonderful people, and they will always go out of their way to make sure you're having a good time in their establishment. Club Med also has a small snack bar which includes sodas, hot dogs, (i believe) nachos, and CANDY! Airheads and Root beer make any game of 8-ball complete!

The bartenders' skill set seems limited to cracking open a beer or the occasional home event, so adjust expectations accordingly; a cold Coors Light is about as adventurous as it gets. Most of the staff is friendly, though one manager who appears to be well past her customer-service era might want to consider retirement--her attitude does the atmosphere no favors. I hope they let their grandmother retire and rest up for the next life. She clearly has had a rough last couple of years. That said, the place itself is friendly enough and mostly clean, which counts for something.

The drinks were good and cheap, between the 2 of us we had around 8 drinks & the tab was $25 or $30. Which is relatively good for 2 people, in my opinion. They dont serve food which is a bummer, i also didnt play pool but alot of people were. It is a tight space, so it gets crowded and loud fairly quickly.

Was I seeing this place through my own beer goggles for the night. Let's just get into it. When we showed up in the area we had asked about what nightlife was like in the area. With it being in the middle of a cold streak we were told about several places in town that would fit the bill to have a night out. We made the rounds in town and then found ourselves here for the remainder of the night. I think what drew us here was that it looked like a dive from the outside and allowed smoking. There weren't many people in here for a majority of the night, so we kind of got to observe this place with the regulars in it. That really allows to see how the locals are in an area. It was interesting to say the least. Once the drinks started flowing we started to feel a little more comfortable in here. We started talking to the bartender to find out what was good to do besides the typical tourist stuff in the area. She was wonderful with suggestions, telling us about other watering holes in the vicinity and even beyond Gettysburg. We had inquired about LGBT friendly places within a short car ride and were basically told to go to Harrisburg or a small town in Maryland. At that point, that's when things started to get a little weird. After outing ourselves, things got a little uneasy for us. We ended up meeting the owner's grandson. He was great and seconded the suggestions the bartender made. But when he introduced us to the locals at the end of the bar, we kind of wanted to not say much. It actually made us feel unwelcomed after a bit of sitting near them. Kind of like all eyes were on us. After a few more minutes of that, we paid our bill and made it out the door. So the thing is that it's a great bar, if you're a local. Or maybe even if it's crowded, so there are other people to focus on. We liked everything, the freedom to smoke, the pricing, the bartender, but the atmosphere changed at some point and flipped the script. Would we go back? Maybe if it was nicer weather wise out, that would allow more people to be in here.

It's a small place but the staff makes you feel like family! The drinks are on point- the food was great and we didn't feel like we weren't wanted! Now this is a family spot so you may see children there shooting pool better than the adults(me) but you have another side where you're able to sit back relax and enjoy the show(Karaoke if you're lucky). We came for the crabs and we weren't disappointed! They were DELICIOUS! So the AYCE came with several options as wings, shrimp, fries, corn (fresh local and I got the last piece) hush puppies. The wings have several flavors but could be cooked harder(my fault I didn't ask but will next time), the shrimp were nice sized and seasoned well, can't go wrong with fries and the hush puppies were tasty! This is a must try for anyone in the area looking to go somewhere with great food and conversation. Oh and forgot to mention we had Maddie as our server-she is the best! Sadly I didn't get the other ladies names which are great too but Maddie stood out to me. She handled that side we were on like a champ! She gave great recommendations on the drink choice plus she made us feel comfortable! Actually all the staff we encountered did however she was our go to all night! Most people ask about the bathrooms(didn't use them but I know there were one of each). This is a small but feel larger place because of the comfortable atmosphere! If you're in that area and want a drink, food or just company I feel this is where you should go! Sadly I didn't take any pictures as I was enjoying myself. Next time though! Karaoke is every Wednesday at 7! Hopefully I will see more people there but it gets crowded so be ready to love thy neighbor

Tucked away in a corner of a strip mall (764 Plaza) which is across the street from Blue Knob Auto Sales and the Brooklyn Deli. There is plenty of free parking spots. The business recently switch hands and the new owner is currently really cleaning the place up and making the atmosphere seem more lively, brighter, and a place to hang even when not playing pool. The place is filled up with 16 9 foot table, 15 Brunswick Medalists and 1 double shimmed Brunswick Gold Crown, all of the tables have ball returns. Talking to the new owner he was talking about getting 2 bar boxes and possible starting a league team there. The tables are normally clean, felt intact, and well lit. Also there is plenty of places to sit around and away from the tables. The pricing is very reasonable and same with the drink and snack prices. Their hours start at 12 pm every day and go to midnight Sunday through Thursday, then Friday and Saturday to normally stay open until 2 am. This place has plenty of drink options from water to soda and many snacks, as for alcohol it's BYOB and there will be a small fee for bringing it in. I should mention there is normally an 8 ball tournament ever Monday evening there. One downside to the place is that smoking is allowed which is really noticeable in the winter months on Fridays and Saturdays when the younger crowd is there. Lucky for the bigger tournaments there usually isn't any smoking in there. Another downside is the music, there is only one source of music which is a touch-tunes jukebox in the very back of the pool hall. When it is normally played it seems to get really loud to the point where it bothers people at the front of the hall. I feel that the place would be a lot better if there was background music even like the radio or Pandora when the jukebox isn't being played. Final thoughts, the staff is great and this is a great place to go to shoot a rack or two of pool.
