I just got a comic book box there but it's a pretty decent sized store with a lot of comics and comic book related items

Despicable prices. Anyways I'm applying for a job here, if you can't beat capitalism why not join it? (I'm joking I swear)

I have a friends birthday coming up and she loves comic books! I have been to so many stores lately and they had the exact comic book I was looking for at Comics-N-Stuff. Walking in, I was overwhelmed. I know nothing about comic books and this place was fairly big. The very kind employees showed me exactly where I could find the comic book I was looking for. They even showed me some other things I could also get as a gift for my friend. Thanks for your help guys, wish I remembered your names! Like I said, it's a big place. Update your hours. Wasted 30 min driving out to this location because it was open later than the other locations. It's not open later. They close earlier. Covid had been over a year. Google is instant. Change your hours not a 8 1/5 by 11 in the window. Support a local comic shop. Not a chain. read more

This Comics-N-Stuff is about 3x time the size of the location in Plaza Bonita Mall. They are located up stairs next door to Crunch gym. I was very overwhelmed with the stock selection, comic books, t-shirts, action figures and more. There was merchandise in boxes and the store didn't look pulled together. I wondered around the store for a few minutes with several questions but I could see only one employee and he was busy so I didn't get a chance to experience his customer service or maybe I did. read more

Someone recommended I come here for cool Marvel t shirts & baseball cards. We came to El Cajon visit my family. Their cards selection. If you like 30 year old junk wax at inflated prices, this is your spot. If this stuff had 50% of it thrown in a fireplace, it would still be too mass produced. You will be scammed. There was a lady there in the afternoon that gives less customer service than The Soup Nazi. Not only RUDE AF, but when she uses profanities at you for asking questions she cannot deal with ("Do you have any Simpsons or Family Guy stuff" & the response is (minus profanities) "If its out there we have it." ) I have $500 to spend in a store that has had ZERO customers for at least 40 minutes - and you are going to treat the paying customer with cash dollars in their pocket like total trash? I probably would have dropped something close to your weekly salary when NO ONE ELSE was in there - but you have to talk to me like I am her 3 year old toddler running into traffic. Honestly, if this location is to stay open, I would bring someone else in to replace this person. I own 2 businesses. Someone sailor talks to a customer like what I experienced, they would be fired. Maybe she was upset at working there and wants unemployment? I don't know? All I know is I saw prices that were high on t shirts - which I was willing to buy - and no recent baseball cards. Do they sell Simpsons or Family Guy? I never found out. read more

This is hands down the best store I've been into in my recent return to collecting. Huge space right above Dick's sporting goods in the mall. They have a vast selection of new comics, even some of the more rare titles. They also have a very carefully catalogues back issue library that holds many many titles, often with decent pricing. I wish I lived out here since they offer a 10.00/year membership that gets you 20% off comics and even variants throughout the store. The nice girl at the register even told me that their main store in Carlsbad is three times the size, I will have to make sure to check that one out next! read more

I feel lucky!!! I was able to find series 36. I prefered the cover art with Archie's shirt covered in blood, but it wasn't available...at least I have it!!! The staff here was really nice and helpful just like the other place! I will definitely be back for more Archie's!!! read more

I love comics and stuff other location but it just seems at this location you don't get any customer service And everytime I want to ask a question I feel so rude interrupting their conversations that never seem to end with each other lol The last time i went in a older man was very blunt and rude when I asked him for a particular figurine. But this will not deter me from coming back, I need my obsession of the munsters and Simpsons figures lol read more

Been a longtime customer (since 2000). My initial experience was decent when they were at Point Loma. They had a good selection of comics and toys. But they gradually went downhill. I guess the boss doesn't believe in lowering prices to clear old, unwanted stock. So you will see toys a decade (or more) old, covered in a thick layer of dust, with yellowing packaging, still with their original (and quite expensive) prices. My other gripe is that they have cancelled my subscription 4 times (due to me being out of the country) over the years. I had always left my phone number with them. And they have SPECIFICALLY told me that they will CALL me first to confirm that I still wanted my books. No calls whatsoever. I've had to re-open my pull list multiple times. I have not received a call from them in all my 10 years as a customer. I've got other sources for my books now. I'm done with them. read more

Comics N Stuff rocks my socks. I am a not-so-closeted closet nerd, and there's something extremely awesome about going in to wander through all the crazy collectibles and comics. The staff is all really nice, they have decent prices for the most part, and as Robert said - they are totally not elitist there at all. read more

The store itself is nice and I am sure once they settle in it will be organized, but customer service was terrible when I went. The woman who was at the check out was rude and condescending. I asked about a specific comic that I couldnt find on the walls and she gave me a lecture on what a new comics wall is and explained that it's where "new comics go." She has also been rude regarding covers. I bought two (different) issues of the same comic and she implied that I had no idea what an alternative cover is and that I need to be careful. I tried going back to El Cajon since the staff there is awesome, but it turns out that she works there sometimes, too. Overall, the most recent experiences I have had with these stores led me to take my business elsewhere. It's sad since I have gone to CnS since childhood, but I can't stand the way this woman talks to people. Ladies, don't shame fellow female geeks. You have nothing to prove. You just lose customers acting like jerks. read more

After I found this "hide-away" I was very surprised how much stuff they had!!! Very large, lots of goodies!!!

I only come here to pick up gifts but it is more worth to find things on amazon or go downtown to other shops. I still see having two of the same shop in one town a bad profit move. The shop near the highway is more maintained than this one. It is nearly dead in the store with 1 to 3 employees. I'm giving a 1 star cause I don't see myself coming to this one in the mall where it takes up unnecessary space and lack of interesting merchandise that justify that space. read more

Staff let's me search for hot packs in booster boxes and they have a great selection of vintage toys I you don't mind paying high end eBay prices for them. When it's hot outside the store is a sweatbox, this place needs a/c or more fans! They don't offer any kind Of booster box discount, so if your looking or a box, your better off looking online! They also are one of the only stores in San Diego that carry old pokemon card boosters. Again they are pretty expensive but if you don't want to deal with eBay pick them up here! read more

I'd actually give this more like a 2.5, but I couldn't bring myself to round up. "Meh" actually seems like an apt description. As far as stuff goes, this place has a ton of it. If you're looking for a nerd gift, you'd have a difficult time NOT finding something appropriate. On to the bad... The Magic events. I've been to three, two of them being prerelease events. Horrible turnout, and the "judge" decided to play in both events, giving us 13 in one event, and 9 in the other... which means someone has to take a bye every round. It also means if you need a judge you have to interrupt his game. Pretty freaking annoying, plus the guy (I believe another reviewer referred to him as "Beardie") was kinda jerky which didn't up my opinion of the place. As for the complaints about the rest of the employees: one girl seemed quite knowledgeable and friendly. The girl working the next day seemed slightly afraid of people and a bit on the clueless side, so.... yeah. Good luck should you choose to go here. read more

Ah definitely my favorite comic store! The customer service is great. Whenever I need help finding something the staff kindly helps me find what I desire! They seem pretty knowledgeable. All of my comics from my comic collection (now in the triple digits) come from this store and every single one is in excellent condition for collecting. (I collect silver age comics :D) I usually buy a few $3.25 comics and then buy 1 $10-15 comic. Haha one thing I love about the store is that they always play good music that puts me in a "comic collecting" mood I guess lol They have many many items to choose from such as: vinyl figures, apparel, toys, comics, and more! If I don't really find any kind of comic that I want, I usually tend to buy a cheap vinyl figure or tshirt. I even got a discount card that gives me like 15% off or something! It'll last me the whole year and it only cost me 10 bucks! The only con is that, in my opinion, they have no silver age flash comics. Flash is my favorite, and I hate that I can't get any AWESOME flash comics. They only have rebirth and newer flash comics. Which, for some reason, I despise. Horrible customer service. You seriously don't want to go to this location for comics. Went to pick up Batman: Damned # 2 yesterday and the chick working there was still stocking the new comics after they opened and she felt that was more of a priority rather than taking 2 minutes of her time and selling me a damn comic. She literally wanted me to wait until she finished stocking comics before I could purchase my comic. I waited 5+ minutes until I got sick of waiting and went to a much better Comics N Stuff at Grossmont mall. And when I left, the chick took offense and muttered "Well I'll be done by the time you get there." Takes me about 10 minutes to drive to Parkway Plaza to Grossmont...so I would have spent another 10 minutes waiting for her to stock comics until I got my issue of Batman: Damned? Nah, i'll pass. Grossmont Mall is the superior location. Go there instead. Trust me. read more

This place always has what I want and need. I went in to get a copy of the free batman book that was available (today is free comic day) and the girl behind the counter told be they are only free if I bought something which I thought was a little strange, it never had to buy anything on a free comic day. None the less I got my book and was happy. The only problem I have is the girl at the counter with the glasses. I hate being in a buisness (geared towards kids mind u) that yells at people for pressing buttons on things that say "try me". She yelled at a group of kids for pressing the bottom on a toy "Don't press that unless your gonna buy it"... screw that girl.. read more

I'm giving this three stars because of the selection. The negative two is due to the guy at the front. I know it's busy because it's free comic book day, and maybe I'm spoiled from going to San Diego comics (comix). The guy at the register, who I assume is the owner or manager, answered a personal call while ringing me out and was talking with a negative tone about the day. Instead of letting us pick a few comics and sort through them he had them behind the counter and told me to pick one and was not happy about it. I could barely even see what they were and he was so busy I felt like an inconvenience. He just wasn't very helpful and I feel like this day should be to introduce and inspire people to get into comics, if I wasn't already into them, I wouldn't be any more interested. read more

This Comics-N-Stuff is a big warehouse full of goods. I must say I'm not really impressed with the interior but it seems it's a work in progress. As far as products, go, it offers quite a bit. I really liked the variety and amount of goods they had, from toys to posters to of course, comics. The service was hit and miss. A gentleman simply passed me up while I was looking around and just walked around aimlessly as if he was keeping an eye on me rather than caring to see how I was doing. On the other hand, a female employee took the time to go around and acknowledge me as well as other customers. So she pretty much single handily saved this review. The size of this place is massive and there was a lot of stuff scattered all over the place. There was also a tournament area but it was very sketch and there was plenty of hardware just laying around and incomplete furniture. So considering all that, I must say I'm just satisfied with this place. Hopefully they finish fixing the place up because it has pretty good potential. The location is odd but I would guess if this store really pushed for it, it would be the go-to destination for people in East County. I could definitely feel the potential here. I hope they capitalize on it. Definitely worth checking out for yourself. read more

Jenn always has my comics pulled and brings them out when I get there. She also gave me a gift for my son when he was born. At this location it's huge with a great selection, however it's best visited on weekdays and before the sun goes down. Nights and weekends there are more people visiting the store than can be assisted, however it's still a great store nonetheless. I recommend talking to and getting assisted by the younger salespeople here because of thier knowledge of the newer stuff and they seem to be nicer. read more
