The owners of this comic shop do more to promote independent books than anyone I have ever met…read more I think between them they read every single release they stock, and they have a huge stock. It's a pure comic book store, in the sense of they stick around solely off selling books, not by selling out and stocking a ton of tons and other pop culture items. I mean don't get me wrong, I love pop culture, but that this remains a purely comic book store, adds to the charm. Since moving to this location the store is better than ever, and I love that is literally shares the inside space with Stormy records. Two completely different store, yet sharing space in a very unique way. I love it. There are few indie books they don't stock, and those can be obtained on order here. When not running the store specifically the owners put on tons of shows and events, both in the store and in other locations. This store is celebrating 30 years in business this year, but they remain relevant and on the cutting edge of the industry. If they keep this up there is no reason to believe they won't make it another 30 years. Do yourself a favor and check out the shop, even if you don't frequently read comics. They will find something that definitely suits your interests.

I'm writing this because the experience was genuinely disappointing…read more My husband has been coming to this shop for quite some time whenever he can, and he has always enjoyed it. Because my doctor's appointment was nearby, I came along with him. I am currently 39 weeks pregnant and scheduled for a C-section tomorrow. While browsing, I found items I intended to purchase, but first needed to use the restroom. I asked the employee at the desk if there was a restroom available, and I was told the closest one was across the street at a gas station. This was confusing, considering this is a shop where patrons often spend hours browsing, trading cards, and participating in tournaments. When I pointed that out, another employee chimed in to say the restroom was "not open to the public" unless there was a tournament. At that point, multiple employees began offering explanations that felt dismissive rather than helpful. As a visibly very pregnant customer, accompanying my husband who is an established patron, being told to walk across the street to a gas station restroom felt incredibly inconsiderate and humiliating. I ultimately walked away because the interaction was becoming upsetting. My husband was equally frustrated, and we left immediately. I understand businesses can have restroom policies, but basic compassion and customer service matter--especially in situations involving pregnancy or medical need. This experience left a very negative impression.

I placed an online order through Sanctum Sanctorum Comics and Oddities for a mail order purchase…read more I have to say that their packaging was what I'd call "role model" in methodology towards how to treat a collectible comic book and mail it to a customer. The packaging was probably the best I've ever experienced. Sure, the S&H was $9, and after all, it does cost money to ship items (not every business is Amazon, or a big retailer who can afford to absorb shipping overhead expenses)... but how the store handled the shipping explains why it's actually better to pay for shipping when it comes to buying from comic book and collectible sellers than it is to buy from some sellers who tout "Free Shipping" and inherently do a shoddy cheap neglectfully poor job shipping an item that then most likely gets damaged in transit from shipping to delivery receipt. Not with Sanctum 'tho! My comic was first bagged and boarded, in fresh new materials. Then it was placed into a rigid plastic toploader. Then that was placed into a waterproof bag and taped tight so the comic book essentially could not move around or drop out of the toploader. Then that bag was placed into a "Gemini" styled custom comic book shipper box. That box was then placed inside of a sturdy larger oversized shipper box and with padding inside the box. There was that proverbial 99.98% iron clad assurance that the package would survive any normal or abnormal handling and was protected with 3 iron clad layers of packaging where many sellers only use one at best. In the world of mail orders for comic books, "cheapest prices" aren't always the best because the merchandise could be damaged, shipping could be faulty, systems could be flawed (and suddenly "hot" comics become "out of stock" with sellers refusing to honor prices), or are simply shady. I'd endorse Sanctum for my mail order business. I'm not local to the area to visit the store, but visiting the website is a great experience.

Let me say that while more game stores fall flat Fun 4 All exceeded my expectations!! Walking in everything was WELL organized. There was a large section for comics in the middle and the right wall. They also sold playing cards and in the back was tables for group play. Up in the front left was a large selection of games. The smaller packages deck games are locked in cases. (However the staff was super helpful and didn't hesitate letting us check them out) The staff super nice and helpful (but not too chatty and overbearing). Again the organization blew me away! As well as the large selection of games. If you're searching for a great game store to visit start to frequent this one is it.

If you believe your time and trust is worth more than $11.00, look elsewhere…read more I was a sold a fake card by the owner of this store (Rich) approximately 3 years ago. After discussing this on the phone, he agreed to partially refund me for the hardship. Several months later, I dropped the fake card off and he texted me to deny that he sold me the card but that he would "honor the $7 store credit offer". Notably, this is not the remedy we agreed upon on the phone. It is unfortunate that after spending a significant amount of money at this store, I have been met with such dishonest behavior. I write this review only to warn shoppers to be careful of what they buy. If hardship may occur, do not depend on Rich to make you whole. You will be disappointed.
