This is a five-star review because this hotel is an amazing value. In addition, it seems like the franchisees have really thought about what will make it easy for travelers on the road. If you're looking for Ritz-Carlton experience this is not the place for you. I stayed here a week. There's a small indoor pool, a workout room (which I didn't see) and coin op washers and dryers. There's a free breakfast in the morning from 6:00 to 10:00, but if you have to be on the road earlier than that, from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. there is a sack breakfast that you can just pick up and run out the door with. Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday they serve a hot dinner. Last night it was frozen lasagna and while it wasn't gourmet it was certainly good and really hit the spot given that it was snowing out. I was in the area for a week while a relative was dying and then I needed to stay and clean out her apartment. Because these rooms are suites they have a refrigerator and a microwave as well as a little sitting area that is sort of separate from the bedroom. The beds are very comfortable. I was able to sort through my aunt's things, box them up, and get organized all in the hotel room. Even though I made a big mess the bedroom stayed clean because the mess was in the separate sitting area. I cleaned up before I left but it was great to be able to work and sleep without either getting in the way of the other. The staff was courteous and super helpful. Highly recommended! read more

I have never stayed there, but judging by the outside, I would be leery of stepping inside. It looks rundown, almost abandoned. At any given time you may see, maybe 2 - 6 cars in the parking lot. This us in stark contrast to the other hotels around it. read more

We booked for 4 ppl. One king bed, 1 pull out couch (had NO SHEETS or blankets) had to get our own sheets, at the front desk. SMH. Had only three towels for showers, so I requested 4, for 4 ppl, makes sense right? I was then told they were booked full tonight, so you have to bring one used towel to the front desk, to get a new towel... What in the actual F !!! Let's not forget we also had to pay out additional $150 for incidental fees. God forbid if we run out of toilet paper. This place should be ashamed of the management, and should be called budget inn. So much for relaxation, raise my blood pressure over ignorance of management rules. Kids went swimming, I asked the staff for towels they said we have to use our own towels then they will give them back after they wash them. After working on the service industry and as a teacher for many years, I have always believed that people can be compassionate when confronted with difficult circumstances, but that belief is being tested by this hotel. My mom made a reservation here with her friend to go to an out of town event a month from now. Her friend's spouse unfortunately and unexpectedly passed away this week, and the memorial service is on the day that they had scheduled this booking. Comfort inn refuses to allow them to cancel the booking, stating that all rooms are non refundable, despite the reservation being several weeks away. I am absolutely sure they will simply charge my mom and her bereaved friend for the room, and also rent it out to someone else. This is bad business, heartless, and displays a corporate lack of humanity that I think almost everyone would find abhorrent. We as a family have chose comfort inn consistently for many years, but never again. Do better. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. I've never been to a dirtier hotel. We found cigarette butts everywhere in our room. We bought Clorox wipes and went through an entire pack wiping the room down. The amount of dust and dirt was astounding. The room has never been vacuumed. read more

Stayed at a Choice Hotels property in Wixom MI. We were forced to leave 3 hours into our stay due to health and safety issues (disabled smoke alarm, all electrical outlets missing wall plates, outlets inoperable, and bed bugs). The manager Tony Bhooi not only will not respond, but double charged us for the stay. Choice hotels will only refund 1-night per policy, even though we were charged twice and could not stay there. We will never stay at another Choice property. Their franchise owners and corporate representatives are scam artists and thieves. read more

I booked this hotel for sweetest day for my husband. The outside looks as expected like a motel. the rooms were OK but things could've been cleaned better like the couch. We had a spa tub in the bathroom kind of small but still fit two people over 5'6 the biggest issue that I had was talking to the receptionist. They were two foreign guys, which were just hard to understand and hard to communicate with. I understand that the hotel cannot control who stays with them but at the time we stayed there was a child's soccer game the next day so breakfast was gone pretty quickly. I would not stay again unless this was my last resort because I got a very good deal from Priceline. read more

DON'T STAY HERE!!!! Hands down, the NASTIEST hotel we've ever stayed in, with the RUDEST staff. My family and I were tired and trying to find a hotel near Kensington before our road trip around 11pm. The hotel looked decent on the outside, but it was a nightmare on the inside. The pull-out couch had what looked like mouse droppings (poop) all on it; the phone didn't work, and the cord literally came out and couldn't be put back in; the carpet had big red stains; the whole hallway smelled like mildew. I took pictures of all of it! The front desk guy, a foreigner, refused to refund our money and NEVER APOLOGIZED for the filth in our room, even after we politely stated our disgust and showed him the pictures. He offered us another room, and that room had mouse droppings and a broken phone too! Then our replacement room had a bright light that kept turning on and off by itself. We checked in at 8:30 PM on a Friday night planning to stay the weekend. The air conditioner did not work in our room only blowing out room temperature air so I called the front desk and let them know and they said ok and hung up. I wanted to see if there was another room avail but I never got the chance. The bathroom was filthy and the floor wasn't even vacuumed. Because there was a rowing regatta other hotels were full and we couldn't stay anywhere else. With all the stains on the comforter we decided to go next door to Meijers to buy some sheets as there was only a fitted sheet on the bed. I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel where there was no top sheet. We will leave after one night and will definitely never stay here again! Honestly was very disappointed. I was put in this hotel for a business trip for 2 weeks. My room from day one was filthy. There was a blood stain on the curtains, fake eyelashes between the bed and nightstand, food particles here and there. Not to mention the bugs I had to kill daily. I didn't see any bed bugs or anything like that I wouldn't put it past this establishment. Cleaning in not on top of their priority list. My card key stopped working every 2-4 days so I would have to constantly go to the front desk to get new keys which was very annoying and inconvenient. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

I recently booked a week stay at this hotel traveling for work. I often travel for my job, and have never been treated so poorly or seen such filthy rooms. I have never asked to switch hotel rooms before, but my first room was very dirty, the bathroom smelled like urine and had hair and grime on the floor. The sheets were stained and the drawers dirty. It was midnight and I had been traveling all day, but I couldn't imagine stepping bare feet on the bathroom floor and requested another room. Kevin at the front desk was very nice and gave me a room on another floor. This room was also filthy. Toothpaste on the bathroom counter, disgusting floors, crumbs on the couch, so un-inviting and even concerning. It was now 6 hours until I had to be up for work, so I spent the night and got to my job, coming back on my lunch break the following day to check out. I explained the situation to the person at the front desk who told me the reservation was not refundable and I would be charged for the entire week, even though I was only there for 12 hours. I went to gather my things when the same person came uninvited into the room with another employee and asked for me to show them what was wrong with the room. After pointing out very basic things, like dirty bathroom counters, dirty floors, crumby couch cushions, I was told I was being nit-picky and unreasonable. He continued to berate me and said I would be paying for seven nights anyway. He said I was trying to avoid paying my bill, but I still had to find another hotel in the area and my employer had to pay for both. Reaching out to the manager, customer service, corporate, has still received no response and it's been five days now since I left. The pictures show how bad the rooms were, but having a man in the room yelling at me and telling me I was ridiculous as I packed my bags, the embarrassment of having my poor employer having to pay this bill and for an additional hotel, now not even a response to multiple calls and emails to the local manager and company, this is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Steer clear, book one of the hotels across the street. The manager there said they get fleeing guests from this hotel on a regular basis. read more

We checked in early evening. Check in was easy. While I was checking in, my husband used the restroom on the main level, there was trash, toilet paper and seat cover for toilet seat on the floor. When we got to our room, the room appeared to be ok as we were just dropping off our stuff. But when we returned later that evening, we noticed hair all over the bathroom floor, used dental floss on the floor, and nail clippings on bathroom floor. The carpet looked dirty in spots with things that should have been picked up with a vacuum. Finally the couch in the room, had a bunch of red fuzz all over the couch. By the time we saw all of this, it was late in the evening so too late to request a different room or new hotel. We just wore our shoes or socks when walking around the room. read more

Tried to get a new room and asked the lady at the desk if it would be cleaner and she replied "sure". Not very promising. Then asked for a refund which she replied that we would have to speak to the manager who was not onsite at the time. She wouldn't even give us a number to call to reach said manager. I booked this hotel using the hotel tonight app on a hump bug. I booked the room on hotel tonight app. But the front desk associate wanted my card that was associated with the app to hold a $150 for a refundable deposit in case anything happened. She really gave us a hard time and said she wS just going by the book. Then finally was willing to pit the amount on my boyfriends credit card. It looked clean but we all know hotels don't really clean their rooms. Their was what appeared to be a coffee stain on the comforter very small. But I didn't realize it until I had already slept in the bed. Breakfast is from 7am-1030am. The food appeared to look somewhat decent. The eggs tasted like they've had been cooked in charcoal. Pretty nice place, huge seating area for breakfast with a good spread. They even fed us a free spicy dinner in there, though I'm not sure if that's a regular thing. Room was well kept and clean, AC worked very well and had constant fan option (no going on and off to wake you through the night), also nice blackout curtains. Walls are paper thin. Can hear our neighbors cell phone go off and the tv at 6:30 am, and we don't need to be up early for a change. Toilet was plugged when flushing a piece of tp, used for a runny nose. Room smelled like strong perfume, not air freshener when we came in. I'm guessing that cheap perfume is more economical than lysol or glade? Won't be back to this location. read more

The General Manager, Melissa, is awesome. She is very accommodating, helpful, knowledgeable of the surrounding area. She helped me find local restaurants, things to do, and had no problem helping me with all the little things I forgot to bring along. A Meijer store is right behind the hotel as well. read more

Wifi is horrible. Can't watch a tv show on Netflix with out it constantly reloading. Jacuzzi tub doesn't work. Dinner is from 5-7 but ended at 530. Breakfast can never seem to be on schedule. Starts at 6 but didn't have anything until 640. Haven't been impressed of this place whatsoever. Definitely not worth the money especially with all of the hotels in the area. read more

This place withheld my fiancés money. The manager PK told her in 3 or 4 different occasions that her check would be ready to no avail. He had an intoxicating woman orientating me. This lacked professionalism and made for an unsuitable work place. It is ILLEGAL to withhold a check for hours worked. Pleas Do not patronize a business that doesn't uphold the law. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. let me set the scene, I booked a hotel for my daughters dance competition this weekend about two weeks before the competition. Due to the pandemic the competition was canceled a week before we were going to check in. I wasn't able to cancel and get a refund because I got my reservation on Priceline (first mistake ). Thinking it wasn't a total loss I figured we as a family could spend the weekend relaxing, swimming at the pool, hitting up the continental breakfast in the morning, and just getting out of the house for the weekend. Thinking that to be kinda lame my kids for other reasons opted out leaving me to go relax on my own for the whole weekend ( a parents dream to have a weekend alone without kids). i showed up to the hotel and off the bat it looked a little bit disheveled and run down, I checked in and got hit with a 150.00 dollar hold fee in case the room got tossed during my stay (a charge I wasn't aware of ). The clerk at this time also informed me that the pool was also closed due to the pandemic so that was out. So I get my room key and head to my room, the hotel is supposed to be 100% smoke free and the whole hotel smelled like smoke. when entering my room none of the lights would turn on, the mini fridge in the room and the tv when turned on both made a humming noise and the room had a smell that was not great. After that much disappointment I gather my stuff went back down and checked out, the clerk offered to give me another room but I was done after being there for a total of 20 minutes. I asked to talk to a manager to further request a refund due to the poor accommodations and the clerk said I could talk to a manager as soon as they came in on Monday. I will never go back to that hotel ever and I recommend that no one else does as well. read more

The parking lot was under construction so my two children kids and my pregnant self had to walk from the back of the lot with all of our stuff. Waited 20 mins to get checked in, then the lady charged the wrong cards (causing $22 fee and 20 day hold) since there's a $150 deposit on the room with no forewarning. Place smelled of paint chemicals. Garbage and crumbs on the floor in our room. Pool was nasty and unfinished. Manager "couldn't do anything". Creepy construction guys everywhere. Stayed over July 4th of last year but I literally just joined this thing! I enjoyed my stay so much and it was so memorable I have to give kudos!! I was at a convention at the nearby Suburban Showplace and booked my room at this property out of the participating properties as I'm a Choice Privileges member. Had an AWESOME time!! Friendly staff...awesome breakfast and the indoor heated pool was amazing!! Not sure what the other people are bashing the property for? I loved it! This place blows!!!! I stayed here only because it was paid for by Lipari for a food show they were having in the area. Had it been money out of my own pocket, I'd be using it for bail because I strangled the owner of this building for not keeping up on general maintenance and for not having a capable housekeeping staff. -There was trash left in the garbage can from previous visitors & pubic hair on the shower walls. - There was fluids of some kind (body?) on the wall next to the bed and on the headboard. And what appeared to be a dirty footprint on the wall. -On my first night there, it took (no exaggeration) over 15 minutes for the shower to warm up. Then when it finally did, everything was soaking wet! There was no fan to circulate the stale air and the shower curtain rod was curved so it didn't block all the water from slashing all over the floor. I had to use the extra towels to mop up the puddle that formed on the floor before it seeped into the hallway. On the second day, it never warmed up. Nothing more annoying than a freezing cold shower!!! -Then, if you are in a wheelchair or use a walker, guess what- you're out of luck! If you look at the picture I provided, you'll see why. - There was dust everywhere! The hallway had a funky smell, the game room...well, what game room?!?! The "game room" consists of a bunch of candy filled vending machines. No games of any kind. -EVERYTHING stunk like bleach! I'm glad it's clean but it was so overpowering! No one wants to spend all day in a car and have high hopes of sinking into a bed only to have the stench of bleach burn your nostrils. Never going back! read more

My experience here is beyond disappointing. I arrived at 8 in the evening to check in. Although there should have been plenty of time to clean between patrons, I was given a room that was filthy. Beds were unmade, there was garbage strewn all over and we found lots of empty chew containers and dirty underwear and socks. Gross!! We were given another room but I still had the heebie jeebies from the first room. I got up early to partake in the continental breakfast and was again disappointed. 15 minutes into service, they were almost out of hot food. I then decided to eat cereal, but alas, I was unable to because the only utensil available was a knife. Strange that the breakfast room was fairly empty of guests so I don't think supply and demand was the issue. If stopping in Wixom, do not stop here!! read more

Nasty breakfast area! Everything needed a thorough cleaning!!! Container for danishes looked like it was never cleaned. Speaking of danishes they were so hard, my husband could not bite them. Mentioned this to the server and was told that manager bought them from Gordon's instead of Sam's. All tables were dirty, only 2 being used. We were traveling for our 25th anniversary Lisa and Heidi the front desk staff were WONDERFUL. They were friendly, helpful able to multitask and gave excellent suggestions. Within 20 minutes of advising front desk the shower drain was draining slow the hotel maintenance man was there who again was polite, professional and fixed the issue in less than 15 minutes. The hotel cleaning staff excellent group of ladies. We request an item they were right on top of it. The breakfast was yummy. Fresh waffles, pastries, fluffy eggs, fresh fruit, cereal and real good sausage. The coffee was GREAT not too strong and the hotel provided flavored creamer!!! The dining room was kept clean and well stocked. Our room was clean, well stocked with towels. The bed and pillows were comfortable.Our room was across from elevator, we had no issues with noise. The only issue we had is the staff as well as guests smoke outside front door between posts of carport. Cigarette butts everywhere and walking through cloud of smoke to get in and out of hotel was not pleasant. Don't appreciate smelling like smoke. read more

I had a fridge and microwave in my room but as they have breakfast and a complimentary dinner-which were both pretty good especially considering it's hotel food-didn't even need to use them. HORRIBLE, we had over 2 dozen ants in our room, on our luggage and in our car. One ant even crawled in my mouth. Staff didn't believe us and were quite rude. There were even ants where we ate breakfast. I wish we could rate this a 0. We brought them a few of the dead ants from our luggage to PROVE they had ants and they were upset we brought them to the front desk. REALLY, I'm upset WE had ants crawling all over us. They hadn't even cleaned the floors, which were wet, in our room. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! We have since talked with P.K. Pallai, the hotel manager, and they are accusing us of throwing ants at the person attending the front desk (even though the video clearly shows we set them on the counter), and bringing the ants into the hotel ourselves. I have stayed in this motel two different times. Very clean motel and reasonably priced. But not the most ideal stay for a businessman. They have a very slow speed internet connection, almost no wifi service. Asked the night clerk twice to reboot it for better service, but it stayed the same slow, poor connections and kept kicking me off my own work web site. Was told it was due to too many customers using it, but it was the same slow poor connection no matter what time of the day or night. In the morning I asked the GM about it, he told me they were very aware it was a poor system but the owner of the motel would not pay to upgrade. If you are a businessman or woman and need wifi to work in the afternoon or evening, you might rethink staying here. I had to change motels. Poor wifi service in these days will only hurt this motel. read more
