Don't take your ring off or any small item. You have a risk of losing it.

I stayed at this hotel pre-covid and I am well aware that things change, like staffing and upkeep. I also realize that this is a budget hotel. however, My recent stay there sealed the deal of never staying there again. The overall safety, cleanliness of the hotel, maintenance and response to concerns lacked a great deal. Also, processes are not followed which could have resulted in a big issue/concern. I was over this hotel that I didn't even want to touch the breakfast in the morning. I would suggest staying away from this hotel, if possible.

One of the worst hotels stays I ever had in New Jersey! I had to put on my credit cards a $100 deposit plus the price of the room just to stay for the weekend! I couldn't use the shower due to a broken shower head.

This place is no different than a $40 roach motel. It's in a bad area mainly known for drugs, trafficking, and prostitution. In addition to car break-ins that have happened in this hotel before. I booked a reservation here by mistake. They advertise as Harrison-NWK, but are in Newark. They charge $11 per night for parking. Enjoy paying for parking and getting your car broken into, that's the PERK. When I walked in, there were people at the front of the hotel doing drugs. I walked in and told the supervisor who was with a customer service rep, named Leah, behind the desk. The supervisor went outside and told the people there not to do drugs at the hotel and they left. I told my friend who was checking in with me "this is a garbage hotel". Leah at the front desk said, "I don't effing appreciate you talking about MY hotel like this. So I'm NOT honoring your reservation. I want you to get the F out for disrespecting this hotel." The supervisor was there. I asked how am I disrespecting the hotel. She said, "You can't share your opinion about us." I said there's something called "freedom of speech" (1st Amendment) and I'm very much so entitled to tell my friend how I feel. Leah replied, "Not the F in front of us! We're not honoring your reservation!" I told them I wanted to speak with the manager, ASH SARDAR. She called him in front of me, and if you think she spoke to him like she spoke to me you're very much mistaken. Leah told Ash, "This guest was checking in and called this place a garbage hotel and disrespected me even after I offered to waive the deposit for her. I was being so nice." SHE NEVER MENTIONED WAVING THE DEPOSIT. COMPLETE LIES. She was aggressive and verbally abusive, but used projection. That is not how everything transpired. ASH SARDAR believed every word she said and asked that she cancel my reservation. He refused to speak with me. I told them this is not how you treat a customer. Leah replied, "Yeah whatever, have a good day and get the F out!" So, am not sure what kind of "relationship" Leah and Ash have. But obviously Leah has more power than Ash does and the supervisor who was present, as she seem very much intimidated by Leah as well. Leah said she cancelled my reservation, but she did not. Had to call my 3rd party vendor and had to make sure she cancelled it because Leah left it as ACTIVE. Very CORRUPT. In the end, if you think I'm upset, am not. You all did me a favor. I did not spend my money on detritus people and places. The hotel is SCUM with staff who have limited mentalities. Booked an amazing hotel that was super expensive, but got exceptional room service, left my car unlocked all night and had an AWESOME TIME! Good luck Ash to you and your unprofessional staff running a hospitality business with no hospitality skills. If you book this motel disguised as a hotel, know fish stinks from the head and take this warning into heed... you will regret staying here.

Not only was my sleep interrupted at 4am, from being bitten by bed bugs the employee at the window could not do anything to help me. Instead of calling his manager to handle the issue at hand he called the cops on me, not ONCE did i threaten this man. I was bitten up by BED BUGS took pictures right after it happen and showed the front desk clerk. I also asked the laundry attendant about it SHE LAUGHED AND PULLED AT HER LONG SLEEVE shirt. Not only is the manager DENYING this, he will not issue a refund. I stopped guest from coming in to get a room due to the bed bugs infestation that they have at this place. I have also filled a BBB. All that I ask is for my full refund. Not only is this traumatizing, this was could of resolved easy, but it was not. i have taken my time out my day to write this review, as I will be posting it EVERYDAY until I a solution is made. For the manager to call and say this is not his sheets when I clearly took a picture of the front desk. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL HAVE BED BUGS

Front desk was very friendly. Got a bottle water and snack for being choice premier customer. The rooms are decently clean. Big spacious room with comfortable beds. Tv at least works. Clean microwave and fridge. Shower water pressure is excellent and has an adjustable showerhead. Internet speed is decent enough to browse, but not much of anything else. Average 1Mbps download to 0.7Mbps upload speeds. The biggest pro of this place is that Its close to airport!

Good for exercise since you have to carry your suitcase up a flight of stairs out back to leave the hotel.

Whomever gave this hotel 4/5 stars is lying to you. I stay in hotels 3-4 nights a week for my job for over 2 years now and have never had an experience like I had last week when I stayed at the DisComfort Inn Newark. My room was in the basement on the ground floor below the lobby, and while I wasn't happy with my room assignment, figured I could suck it up for one night. I proceeded to go to the "fitness center" to find their one treadmill was broken, as was the TV in the room. So instead I got on the one working machine, the stationary bike, when I encountered a knock on the outside window. It was a member of the staff asking me to open the back door to let them in. When I met her at the door, she told me the elevators were broken so the only way for guests to exit and enter the hotel was to use the back door and walk all the way around to the front. Ok, NBD, I figure all I'm exiting for is to meet my UberEATS driver outside. Big mistake. When I go outside and get my food, I find that there's no way to get back into the basement where I came out, as there is no key swipe. So I walk back to the front, and the receptionist tells me that the back door should be unlocked for those guests, because there is no way to get to the basement through the building (wait what?!). I insist it was not unlocked but thought I might have missed something, so walk back around to the back exit and indeed it is still locked and by now, another basement guest has joined me in trying to get into the building. I call the receptionist, telling her it's locked and she begrudgingly said she would come around to look at it. When she does, she says "oh we propped it open and someone moved the piece of wood." Last I checked, propping a back door open in the basement of a hotel in Newark that backs to a warehouse isn't the safest measure to be taken, but ok. The staff member then proceeds to take a hotel key to try to jimmy the lock open repeatedly, as more basement guests are showing up trying to get in. Apparently, no staff member has an actual key to the back door. Finally, after my delivery order has gotten cold from me standing outside for a long period of time, the manager calls another guest staying in the basement asking them to open the door for us. Not only was this a disruption for that Guest, it was a huge inconvenience for the rest of the guests who couldn't enter the building, let alone possible handicapped guests who could have been staying at the hotel with no working elevator. Had my grandmother been staying at the hotel, she would never have been able to climb the stairs to get back to the front of the building. Do yourself a favor and skip this fire hazard of a hotel. They clearly do not care a smidgen about the comfort of their guests.

Stayed here for one night. The room was clean, no problems there. I left my phone charger in the lobby, and they saved it for me until returned, which was a relief. I asked for late check out, and then staff woke me up in the morning by opening the room door, even though I had the "do not disturb" sign--I really dislike when hotel staff does this!!Didn't spend too much time at hotel, so I can't comment on the rest. The area the hotel is run down, a bit jarring, but hotel is not too far from food and public transport.

I stayed here with my husband and 18 month old and the bathroom sink had a crack in it. It was made of a very thin ceramic material. Initially we didn't complain because we assumed there wouldn't be a major problem, since it wasn't leaking water, but lo and behold our 18 months was playing underneath it (there's absolutely no barrier underneath the sink, see photo) and just a little banging from him was enough to break it. It was shocking. There were pieces of shard ceramic in our kid's hair, fortunately he wasn't cut by it. It left a hole, and we complained but the rude staff insisted it was our fault. Really, how do you break a sink like that? It had to be so poorly made and already be cracked for an 18 month old to break it. They lied to us, telling us that they wouldn't charge us. We're currently disputing the charge. There are other reasons to stay away from this place (no other key entrance beside the front, a little dirty, noisy) but the cheap quality of the furniture and fixtures was apparently a major problem for us.

I was mislead by the reviews as well as the price for parking onsite each day. From checkin to checkout, customer service was blunt, nonchalant, and unwelcoming. Our reward status was not recognized, addresses, or mentioned. Also, when I complained about the cold temperature in both rooms that I booked, my complaints were downplayed, and condescended. My complaints were not addressed and my bill was not comped in any way, despite reporting that the room was cold each day. We were out of the room majority of each day, so we made the best of our trip during the short stay. Again, I do not recommend this hotel. On top of all this, the hotel falsely charged us 7.40$ for a breakfast that we never ate. I noticed it as I was reviewing my credit card statement. I immediately went to the front desk and let them know and they insisted I move to another room. Why on earth would I do that? If that's not enough the Operations Manager, Carlos, responded to an email I sent saying they "need" to investigate the issue in order to respond on IF they will provide me my money back after not staying at the hotel. Excuse me? I read his email then called to make sure I had it correct and he confirmed they need to investigate because they "don't have roaches." LOL I'm certain he's either seen them first hand or heard other guest share this information. Regardless, I'm sure the staff opened the door and saw the roaches well before the call took place and why on earth would a customer need to wait for an investigation when they left because of that health hazard in the first place. He even asked "what time did the roaches enter the room?" which really had me floored. -- It's clear based on a review from 2021 that they are good for taking advantage of people with the unhealthy conditions of the hotel. A previous review indicates that a person pointed out the roaches and management asked the same question "where's the pictures?" And that they would launch their own investigation, just to say they didn't find anything. Take your money elsewhere. As of 12/3 I called corporate who spoke to the GM who now indicates "we won't refund her because she went and wrong on social media" again staying true to their scheme

One thing to start is if you're staying there pull i to their parking lot and see if you can find a spot before paying. The lot is very small and on one occasion we were stuck trying to get our for over an hour by a car that made its own spot and blocked us in. On our most recent visit only one of the two main elevators were working and had a very long wait. We ended up going to the elevator bay in and attached building which required taking our bags up or down a flight of stairs. The standard room is very standard. Chair, bed, dresser and a tight bathroom. Since our last visit the had put in motion lights in the bathroom. However it was facing the door way and on a two minute timer. Meaning while taking a shower and getting ready for bed the light turned off multiple times and we had to leave the door open to see anything. On both stays our room smelled of cigarette smoke. We ended up turning ofd the heat and opening the window to air it out before heading to dinner. Upon our return the smell was still lingering and I ended up using spray hand sanitizer on the fabric wallpaper to neutralize the sent a bit more. We noted that bedding didn't feel like it had a blanket really at all. Our room was near the elevator bay and we heard the ding every time the elevator stopped on our floor through the night. One high note was that the towels were very soft. It'll do if you need to be downtown but I would recommend checking other places for availability first.

I loved that I could slide a barn door to close in the bedroom if needed. My room was close to elevator and the clean supply room so I was a little worried about outside noise. Although I only stayed over on a Monday night even without ever closing the bedroom door it was very quiet. I had a small issue with somehow dropping my phone down into the ice machine (horror) but maintenance was very responsive and quickly got it back for me. Housekeeping was very friendly. Front desk was ok, although I feel like they could have anticipated or understood my question better when I asked about hotel shuttle. They have a sign stating where the shuttle picks up. I asked about it but they just said that it was coreect, so then I made an an attempt to find the location on the sign. When I got back to the elevator and realized it didnt go down or anywhere that might be a level cars would park or etc. I went back and asked where to find the location. They said it was where the shuttle picked up at the airport. Then is said where does it pick up here. They asked when did I need it. I said now. They said ok they would add me to a list. So #1. Why would someone checking out of the hotel need to know where the airport shuttle picks up passengers at the airport. And even if that is useful information, shouldn't it also inform where or what is needed in order to get picked up at hotel. Specifically this would seem important if the check in line was long. #2 He never answered my question about where the shuttle picks up at hotel. Once i realized the shuttle sign was useless, I assumed it picked up outside the doors and it did but this entire exchange made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. Cons: breakfast had no flavor. I'm not expecting a lot from a free breakfast but usually the flavorless eggs have cheese or something you can add to the top to give it a little something. The vanilla pancake topped with whip cream and strawberries was ok but again very little flavor. Plus not something I could eat had I been on a hurry or had an early flight out. Other Hampton breakfasts do a little better job. Maybe Monday's are just not busy enough to warrant more.

I was denied extra pillows despite explaining it was due to a medical need (something I've never been denied at any Hilton property before). The room's AC unit was extremely loud, constantly turning on and off throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. When I called the front desk, I was told they were at capacity and there was no one available to address it. The most concerning issue was the airport shuttle. It was overbooked by the hotel, and I was actually asked to let another guest sit in my lap during transport. That's not just uncomfortable--it's unsafe and completely unacceptable. When I contacted the hotel manager afterward to request a refund under Hampton's satisfaction guarantee, I was dismissed, told to "get over it," and the call was ended. I've stayed at Hampton Inns for years and have always had good experiences, which made this especially disappointing. Issues can happen anywhere, but the lack of resolution and professionalism here was the bigger problem.

When we checked in, I specifically asked if there were more updated rooms, since I assumed the hotel might have renovated sections. The front desk staff member was very kind and helpful, but the first room we were given was in really poor condition--chipped paint everywhere, a bad smell in the bathroom, and visible mold in the vent. It felt neglected and far from clean. We asked to switch rooms and were told the only options were the 10th floor or the 1st floor. Since the 10th floor looked just as worn down, we chose the 1st floor. The staff member did warn us it might be noisy due to the pool and said the pool closed at 8 PM, which seemed reasonable. Unfortunately, the noise was not from the pool. There was constant yelling, screaming, and doors slamming throughout the night. It felt chaotic and made it very difficult to relax or sleep. The second room was still in rough shape--more chipped paint, run-down finishes, and the towels were dry and rough. At times, the room even smelled like cigarette smoke, likely coming from a nearby room, which was really unpleasant. I do want to note that every staff member we interacted with was extremely kind and professional. This is clearly not a reflection of them--they were doing their best. The issue is the condition of the property itself. Overall, this hotel feels more like a rundown motel with a very nice lobby. I would not recommend staying here unless you are okay with outdated, poorly maintained rooms.

Do NOT use Global Airport Parking at Newark in the Double Tree lot!…read moreYour "self park" spot is not guaranteed. The Hotel had many events and there was no spots! Apparently Global does NOT let Double Tree know if it has paid customers coming. I had to leave my car triple parked with the keys inside so I wouldn't miss my flight. All week I was worried that my car might not even be there when I got back. I also made the reservation for 4AM instead of 4PM but the Global Rep said he'd fix it and refund the difference. He accidentally charged me instead of refunding the difference and no one at Global could understand how to refund the original charge and then the accidental 2nd charge. The last email said they'd "give it to me" for good customer relations!!!! It's owed me...I'm not ripping you off! I 'm not asking for a freebie!! Still waiting to see if anyone figured it out! I see one refund on my credit card. Not holding my breath waiting for the 2nd one. Stay clear! PS...my tire was flat when I returned. Double Tree's insurance company emailed me within 2 days! Now ...that's good customer service.

This hotel is all about location. The hotel is relatively close to the airport: when I say…read morerelatively it takes you about 15 minutes with low traffic to get to the hotel by uber. The hotel does offer a shuttle bus. Less time to get back to the airport as you can slip right on the highway going that direction. Once we entered the hotel there was a long line to check in. The staff was working the line the best they could. We were informed that the key making machine was not working thus the process was slower the usual. The room was basic. Looks like the room was partly remodeled. The bathroom sink and the bathroom showed the age of this hotel. The room provided the basics and the bed was clean. Room was good enough for one night. On the plus side the hotel offers washing machine and dryers for a fee. Great for travelers who are on the move. Breakfast looked like it was expansive for a Springhill. The breakfast bar offered the standard breakfast items you would expect at the Springhill suites hotels. The breakfast area was too busy for us to enjoy.

Not the one that makes you text the group chat, okay wait, why is this airport hotel kind of eating. But it was good enough. The room did what it needed to do. The stay was functional. The whole place felt more like a layover with walls than a destination, but sometimes that is exactly the assignment. Bed. Shower. Regain composure. Keep it moving. There was nothing especially glamorous about the experience, but it never fully spiraled into chaos either. It sat in that very specific airport-hotel lane where your standards adjust in real time and suddenly phrases like clean enough and close enough start sounding romantic. It is the kind of place where you are not falling in love, but you are nodding in approval and saying, alright, you did your part. The staff really carried it though. Friendly. Helpful. Responsive. Easy energy. No attitude. No unnecessary friction. They gave the whole stay a boost and made the experience feel way smoother than the property probably deserves on paper. Honestly, they were doing character actor excellence in a hotel that was not exactly giving blockbuster. The atmosphere is pure transit-core. In and out. Bags rolling. People trying to remember what time zone they are in. Not luxurious. Not dreadful. Just very much a place where everyone has somewhere else to be. it's giving... the friend who is not the hottest in the group but somehow keeps saving the night.
