Our previously booked hotel (shoutout Ramada Inn in Platt) managed to take our money from a non refundable pre booked reservation then sell our room to someone else. Which ok stuff happens. But then they proceeded to be absolute jerks about it lol. So Tyler was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise highly unpleasant evening for us. Through my travels I've learned that the best hotels to stay at are the Friendly, Clean and Hospitable ones. Fancy/New means nothing unless you have the Welcoming treatment. This hotel was in a great location, easy in and off I-80, employees were friendly and eager to help their guests, either on the phone or in person. Beds were clean and comfortable. It was quiet. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Kathy, the night desk clerk was very pleasant, friendly, accommodating and eager ensure that all our needs were being met. In the morning the cleaning woman was also great. She acknowledged our presence and quickly answered my question. Thank you again Comfort Suites for going above and beyond. read more

Keep driving as this place isn't worth it. The rooms are complete and they rent them out? Ours didn't have a smoke detector but the wires hanging out of ceiling showed where it should go. Issues in the bathroom as well. Don't waste your time and money. read more

Stay away! This hotel is dirty. Bugs in the room. Stained carpet, dirty shower head, multiple stains on the tables which you can tell that it hasn't been cleaned, sanitized. The room has a smell similar to a wet dog. It is overpriced. I am not sure where are these good reviews are coming from but the room my family got was like a ghetto motel. The wifi password that was on the keycard envelope doesn't work. The fridge freezer is dirty and not cold. read more

I'd give this hotel 0 stars if I could. Our room was DISGUSTING! The beds were NOT changed. No joke! We were in a room on the first floor and I went to take a shower and noticed hair in the tub. I was like ok, I'll wash it out myself. We went to get into bed and there was hair everywhere. We went to the front desk and spoke to Diane who was literally useless. She put us in another room on the 2nd floor and the video posted is of that 2nd room! We walked in and went right to the beds. Both beds had hairs. She told us they don't wash the comforters that is why it had long black hairs on it. Both rooms have unchanged beds covered in hair. Dian told us "I don't see an issue I only saw 2 hairs." I didn't know ANY amount of hair was acceptable! Diane had no way of helping us. She was rude and just acted like we were in the wrong. Horrible customer service. She thought we were wrong for being upset that 2 rooms we got were disgusting. We left at 9:30pm with a 3 year old after driving 8 hours today. Diane told us because I booked on Expedia and I had to contact them for a refund and turns out she was wrong. They tried to call her and couldn't reach her. Unbelievable. Oh also the swimming pool is full of mattresses and when I asked why Diane told me they had a water pipe burst A YEAR AGO and that's why they were there. So another disgusting mess at this horrible hotel. Drive the extra 30 minutes to Lexington we sure did at 9:30pm. read more

Pet friendly motel. Expect obnoxious barking dogs. Rooms are just barely acceptably clean. Furniture is I a sad state and the carpeting in the hallways needed to be replaced years ago. Went to get ice and only the ice machine on the third floor was operational. Asked the front desk person if we could be moved to and the motel was full. This is the worst comfort suites I have ever stayed at. I'll think twice in the future. The room also has a strong odor of febreeze or whatever they use to cover up the odor of pets. There subtotal of $96.91 with a total cost of $142.09 was disappointing. Given the quality of the room a fair price would be well under $100. read more

I stayed in Cozad, Nebraska. Can't find it on Yelp, so am posting here. Spinning off I-80 about a week ago after hitting black ice, I hunkered down in this Comfort Inn. My car nearly went across the medium into oncoming traffic so I was lucky to not be harmed. I was stuttering from the shock when I called around 10 AM to ask if they allowed dogs. Yes, they do. So there I went to rest for a night and to have my car checked as I slid sideways for quite a distance. How marvelously gracious this host couple was to me. They allowed, without extra charge, to check in right then, many hours earlier than the typical hotel afternoon time. The gentle lady rushed to the door to help me lug my suitcase inside, offering me coffee from the breakfast bar. The gentleman made sure that the sidewalk was shoveled and salted. They were consistently polite and fine hosts. I asked them questions more than once, trying to find a place to have my car checked, where to eat, etc. By the way, I took my car to Licky's (most car places shut at noon on Friday for the entire weekend) to have it checked. They were great too -- refused even a tip for keeping open past their closing time. I managed to at least pay for one guy's lunch in thanks. I don't see Licky's Tire and Lube listed but want to give them a good review too. I will make a point of staying here when in the area. They were so kind and thoughtful. read more

We stayed here to golf Wild Horse golf course as there isn't a lot of choice for hotels. I stayed here several years ago when newer and it was very nice. It is showing wear and tear and a lack of attention to detail. It took forever to check in. The elevator looked like it had not been vacuumed in weeks. The carpets in the hallways had many dirty spots on them. The sofa in our room also had dirty spots. The lampshade had pulled away from the wire rim - that could have been easily changed out. The breakfast area had a rag left under the juice dispenser and crumbs on the counter - most places I have stayed at have an attendant constantly cleaning and replenishing. If you are traveling through Nebraska stay in Kearney or North Platte. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We met family here as a half way point. We booked 3 rooms for our family. Our dad was there for a golf tournament and had several other friends there. One of our rooms had no air conditioning we called the front desk and the kid at the front desk asked us a series of questions and told us to do multiple things to the AC unit such as change settings and unplug it. Still didn't work. The kid at the front desk told us we shouldn't be touching the AC in the first place (after he told us to). My mom and I went down to the front desk and he told us he could give us a fan or we could leave. I explained we either wanted another room or a refund. He told us he offered us a solution and If we didn't like it to leave the property. Keep in mind he is SCREAMING at us. I proceed to pull out my phone to record his behavior and he starts yelling at me that I'm a pedophile over and over. I asked if we could speak to a manager to find a solution and he said I could talk to her in the morning but he wasn't calling her. Now he starts yelling that I'm going to get him fired and he's going to call the cops to have them remove me from the property. Through all of this I have my 2 toddlers with me and asked him to lower his voice and have a civil conversation with me. He THREW the bell on the front desk, and told me I shouldn't have brought my kids to the fight and called the cops on me. Cops came and said he has the right to refuse service for any reason. BUT, the cop also went off on him and said this isn't the first time this has happened with him and the SAME EXACT ISSUE!! That he was being very unreasonable and needed to learn customer service. One of our friends rooms had old food in the fridge, microwave, dresser. As well as used tissues and cigarette butts in the dresser. He asked them to come clean it TWICE and it never got done. He ended up doing it and putting it in the hallway and it was still there when they left this morning. Needless to say it's filthy, trashy, terrible customer service. Don't EVER stay here!! Run fast! We ended up going to Tru by Hilton in North Platte and it was phenomenal!!! read more

It feels a little crazy to be writing a rave review about a chain hotel in Gothenburg, NE, but I can't not. This place is awesome. It's practically brand new and is very conveniently located. My mom and I stayed there one weekend while visiting friends in Gothenburg. The service at the front desk and in the breakfast area was very friendly and accommodating. My mom is a nut for free breakfast anyway, but this one had a ton of options that hotels don't often offer- fresh fruit (including pears!), hard-boiled eggs, Yoplait yogurts to name a few. The waffle maker (another thing we are suckers for) had regular batter and cinnamon batter as options. Our room was awesome. It was the middle of a hot summer, but the A/C worked great. We had a mini fridge and microwave. The shower curtain rod is the kind that curves out, making the shower feel extra big and luxurious. I honestly just took a shower in there for fun one time because the bathroom was so nice. The complimentary toiletries (I can't remember the brand) were also really nice and smelled really good- not too strong or chemically like others. Finally, the bed was very dreamy. My mom and I shared a King, and it was as if we each had our own bed. It was so comfortable, and we both slept through the night without even moving. They also offer two firmnesses of pillow- a sign on the bed lets you know that the firmer ones are lined up against the headboard and the softer ones are in front of those so you can choose whatever you are comfortable with. We were very impressed with the level of service and thoughtfulness, and we will always stay there for future visits. read more

This was a clean and spacious hotel with friendly service. My boyfriend and I stayed here while driving through Nebraska and feel like we made a great choice. The room was large and spacious and had everything we needed. There was a microwave and mini fridge also. There was complimentary breakfast in the am which was you're usual run of the mill continental hotel breakfast but it hit the spot. I would definitely stay here again or recommend it if I was in the area again. read more

This hotel is very close the highway which is convenient. You can hear the trucks go by if you are on the highway side of the hotel. The walls are pretty thin. At first glance the hotel looked very clean but then I began to notice things like a used hand towel and open bar of soap on the bathroom. Then my husband pulled back the covers to find dried blood and dirt on the sheets. He went to the front desk to get new sheets and they were very helpful and apologetic. They offered us to switch rooms but we just opted for new sheets because once your six month old is asleep you do not wake him :) I would say that this hotel would have got one more stat from me had I not ran into the cleanliness issue. read more

This hotel will rob you DO NOT STAY HERE. I stayed at this hotel on a cross country drive to drop my son off at college. The next day I checked my bank accounttoo...i found they had charged me $250 on top of the charge for the stay. When I called to inquire as to where the fee came from.... the manager Melissa informs me that therewas smoking in the room which was absolutely NOT the case. She then proceeds to tell me that 4 people had gone to the room and said the same thing. There were no towels... the sheets and the pullout bed both had stains on them and the breakfast the next morning was cold. Melissa was very argumentative and smug. Not a good stay at all. read more

We got the only room left which was the pet friendly room. When we walked in there were stains all over the carpet and it was very musty. My buddy and I ended up staying here just before and after the BYU vs Nebraska football game. We didn't plan ahead, but luckily Sarah at the front desk took care of us. While checking around many places were sold out, but these guys did not turn away weary travelers at 4am the first night. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and breakfast was included. I have never felt the need to review a hotel before but this stay was outstanding! We stayed only one night but wanted to stay longer. The beds were the most comfortable I have had at a hotel. The 2 queens include a full suite with a comfortable sofa and division screen. We did not use the pool (little small) but the outdoor hot tub looked very nice. Breakfast was excellent with the standard waffle maker, cereal, breads, etc. But also danish choices, multiple fruits, scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy!! Staff was very friendly and our dog was welcomed as well. Plus our room was under $100?! We will be staying here our next time through!! read more

Property is nice enough but if their management is any indication of their attitude towards customer service, RUN NOW! My wife and I booked a couple of rooms through their app on my IPad, no problem and I received the confirmation generated by THEIR system. We were going there to celebrate an early Christmas party for my Mom, who is 87 years old. The impending winter storm/blizzard warning caused us to have to cancel because travel to the area was going to be impossible. My wife called (in plenty of time before the deadline) to cancel the two room reservations. The manager on duty who received the call was Melissa McCoy. She promptly told my wife that she couldn't cancel the reservations because the rooms were booked through a third party vendor (NOT True, it was through Choice's Apple app). She was extremely rude and uncaring and not a bit helpful. Is this how you train your staff for customer service? After hanging up we called the corporate number and they promptly cancelled the reservation and said the local property should/could have canceled the reservation. Melissa said we got such a low rate through a third party vendor that she couldn't do anything. She couldn't/wouldn't tell us who the third party vendor was (BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ONE). I would sleep in the car or in a ditch before I ever spend another dime at this property. For someone who spends 120-140 nights a year in hotels you can rest assured that Choice properties will NOT be my choice going forward. read more

An excellent hotel, looks like a new property. Conveniently located. Very comfortable. Has hot tub, indoor pool. Evening snacks, free breakfast. Free coffee in the lobby and rooms Exceptional customer service: our suite ac unit wasn't working. After a 800 mile journey with a toddler and two seniors, we were exhausted. The room got hotter than the hallways after a couple of hours after we checked in. I informed the front desk. She offered to move us to another room and provide two rooms instead of a single suite we were using, at no charge. I did have a good nights sleep in the new room. However, they still need to get their ac units checked out. Beds are comfortable. It's a adjacent to a busy train route, lot of trains in the night. Woke me up a couple of times. But the others in our party were sound asleep. Free wifi but coverage is sketchy. read more

Very reasonably priced. Oir room was like home. It also has a wall comfort control that maintains a steady temperature in the room. We are very pleased. My family and I stayed here on our way through NE. We arrived at 8am and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to check right in. Overall the hotel is very nice. The breakfast was one of the best I've had, but it should really be open until 10 not 9. The room setup is great with ample space for a family. There were some general maintenance issues such as a broken bathroom fan which caused peeling wallpaper, broken picture frames, a broken toilet seat, and a clogged bathtub. There were also some cleanliness issues such as blood on the shower curtain and sheets that did not appear fresh. Also, use extreme caution in the shower as there are no slip pads. When I visited the front desk to ask for a slip pad they informed me they don't have any and I could use a towel. Overall the staff including management, excluding one lady, were very friendly and helpful. read more

This is a nice hotel. Beds are comfortable and it was clean. However the cow manure smell outside when you arrive is nauseating. As long as you stay indoors and don't breathe when you run to your car you are fine. The breakfast is mostly carbs and nasty eggs. Not many healthy options to choose from. read more

This hotel was suburb!! We have stayed in about 20 different hotels in the last year and without a doubt this hotel shines above all of the rest. The staff was extremely helpful, the breakfast was outstanding, the grounds were very neat and clean, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable and all for a reasonable price. In addition, we were were traveling with our female Boxer and there was plenty of area to walk her along with clean well kept dog walk areas with bag stations. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again in the future or to recommend it to a friend. Thanks for a great hotel stay experience!!! We had a great experience at this hotel courtesy of extraordinary service from the owner herself. On a cross-country flight to Oshkosh, Wisconsin we landed in Gothenburg late evening as an unexpected cold front brought cold weather and low ceilings for July. The Gothenburg Airport is un-attended and there are no rental cars or cabs. We called hotels asking if we might be picked up (not a normal service in many small towns). The owner of Comfort Suites agreed and drove out to the airport to pick us up. Not only did she pick us up to drive us to the hotel, she dropped us off for dinner at one of the only restaurants still open and made a special extra trip to return to pick us up when we were done. The three of us traveling this trip are grateful for the extra effort and gracious service. The hotel is new, modern and very comfortable with all the amenities weary travelers would appreciate. This used to be such a great place to stay but on my most recent stay it was quite disappointing. The girls at the desk were very nice but they were the bright spot. The entire third floor smelled like wet dog and there was no a/c in the hallway. The room itself was a good temperature. The room was not very clean. The television didn't work. The breakfast was terrible, which was surprising as it has always been good before. There was practically no pastry, the bacon was dry and tasteless. The sausage gravy was a nasty dark brown color - I can't speak to the taste as I did not partake. I am a Choice loyalty member and I trusted that members received the best rate - as their advertising states. However, after paying the $106 rate ($119 with taxes and fees) I saw it advertised on Expedia, etc. for $88. Also I had registered for the stay 2 separate times, receive a night free and I did not get my free night. I thought this might have been because I paid in advance when I made my reservation for one of the stays to get a discounted night, but when I looked it up, it said that was a qualifying stay. It is a nice hotel, conveniently located and I especially like that it has an elevator and I don't have to lug bags up stairs. But little annoyances tend to add up and now I am looking for other options for my four times a year round trips to visit family. read more

This is a good hotel to spend a little more than just time sleeping. It has nice comfy beds and plenty of pillows. Add to that The pool is a good size, and the breakfast is great.
